Official AUGUST 2008 CODES to be posted here please!!:)

If a code comes out and it is for room only, what you do if you have a package? Do you take room only, buy tickets separate but then you would not be able to have dining.

I'm a passholder, do the passholder rates come out sooner? I remember last year I booked for September 4th in May!

Late June is just unacceptable, its already past my 45 day mark so they would charge me to add a discount!!

I remember DIS unplugged mentioning this a few weeks back about the May codes, but I believe the passholder discount came out before the general public, so i have my fingers crossed, c'mon may!

I don't know if they come out sooner, but I've heard many passholders complaining about exactly what you are talkin about. They had to pay the change in order to book at the new rate. It's probably why Disney does that, LOL.

Sorry if this has already been asked. I haven't had enough time to read through 45 pages of discussion:surfweb: I already have a package booked through AAA with about a $300 savings over Disney. I am debating on doing just a AAA room rate discount and al a carte for tickets and food. I found a site that had tickets for about $30 less than Disney. My neighbor used them twice, so I know they're legit. Plus, I'm still trying to decide wether or not the DDP is worth it. I guess we would eat more than $37.99 pp per day, but I just don't know.:confused3

What do you guys think is the better way to go? Package or no package?

Where do you find these mysterious discount codes? I just read somewhere that someone had a 40% room code. Not fair!! I ordered a DVD and got a cheesy deal that didn't work with my dates.

Any advice is greatly appreciated:worship: :worship:

Yes your right. If you have already paid in full you get a credit if you havent paid in full it just comes off your balence. Im waiting for that 40% off!!!
We paid in full already!!!! So are you saying we get some perks for that? :D

You have to ask yourself how much do you think you will spend on food? If you have 1 or 2 sit-down meals per day, I think the DDP makes sense. For some people it doesn't. If I didn't have annual passes, I would definitely do that. For me, it comes out better to use the DDE instead.

As for the 40% discount code, it is a PIN code that is sent to certain people and not to others. If it wasn't something that was sent to you, you can't get it from somebody else. I have had 40% PIN codes in the past, but they have never been for a time when I was able to go.

I just did a room only AAA ressie. Then, if there is a code for a package, I will use it to book the package. If you do that, isn't your balance due when you check in? THat is what I seem to remember. If there isn't a code, I will get my tickets from somewhere else.

When you have a package, your balance is due 45 days before check-in, or immediately if you are within that 45-day window. If you book room-only, you pay 1 night deposit and the rest is due on check-in.

mirthmaiden~thanks for the advice. Do you think I should get an annual pass? We got them from Disney for having a wedding and it was great. We used it for the rooms, but never got the DDE. I didn't even think to do that this time. I wonder if it would be worth it. I should call Disney and find out the room rate. Maybe it would be a better deal than AAA. HUM?:confused3

Only you can decide that. How often will you visit WDW in the next year? The passes are expensive - $477 for each adult. You have to figure out how much you'd spend on buying regular tickets and see which way makes more sense.

I bought passes for the first time this year because I'm staying 14 days in July, and there are no longer length-of-stay tickets available. It made better financial sense to buy the annual passes.

What site had the discounted tickets?

I ended up adding a day in August, and the code I used for part of my stay was not available since it expired on 3/31. I have an AP and Disney Visa. Any info on when more codes may be out for August? I want a Savanah room at AKL for one night. I have a poolview with AAA booked now.

I booked a room only discount for August in May or June last year. They'll come, it's just a matter of time! It's tough to wait! I need 3 nights for room only discount in front of my FD!

I did that last year too. I'm hoping for the same this year for two days in front of my August free dining. Hey, every little bit helps!!

Sorry, I'm joining in late. We're doing DVC 8/23 - 9/3, but are going to stay at a Value Resort 8/29 - 8/31 & pay out of pocket. Should we reserve a room now and then if a room only code comes out, then can we apply the discount to our already existing ressie? Or do we just wait to make any ressie until the codes come out? We also have the Disney Visa and are AP holders, if that helps.

Thanks for any info! :goodvibes

I would reserve a room now. I think with free dining, value rooms are going to be hard to come by, especially the first week when some children are not back in school yet.

Since some have suggested that there were codes last yr offered in June for August, anyone know what % were they?

40%????Boy, that would be SWEET!!!!!!!!!!!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

Early, mid, or late June last yr for codes for August?

Were these codes e mailed from Dis Destinations or were they general public or Disney Visa Cardholders?

Many thx in advance!!!!!!:yay: :yay:

Thanks! So when/if the codes come out I can just call back and ask them to make an adjustment? :confused3

The codes were released to the general public. If I remember correctly, the code I used was 30% and the reservation confirmation email stated it was a Disney Destination reservation instead of the usual WDW Resort. No difference just different "letterhead".
