My start date changed by a day if you want to change it. We'll be going from 8/26 - 9/3.

Wish me luck, I've never had to double team the boys on vacation and for so many days in a row. We are used to a man on man defense.Congratulations on your 10 year anniversary!! DH and I just celebrated our 10year, and I SO wanted to stay at GF on our upcoming trip to celebrate, but we have his family traveling with us and would have needed 3 or 4 rooms , which would have cost too much!!!
Anyway, I am happy for you and your family.....and enjoy your anniversary vacation!!!!!!!
I think most August threads end up sharing heat coping strategies, so I thought I'd start.
1.I bought a small fan at the Disney store for $1 on clearance last month. I prefer this little fan to the big ones that have the water. The little ones are much more comfy.
2. a. Be the envy of everyone in line with your very own Misty Mate! You fill it with water and it sprays a fine mist. It has a strap and my DH wears it around his waist. Even when your water gets hot, it still feels awesome.
b. CMs will give you ice for free at the CS stands, so you can put your ice in the misty mate to be truly cool!
3. Cool Max clothing. I have used the tank tops and socks and they are great. I noticed that they now sell Cool Max bras (at least Lane Bryant does)! You can find the items at Target.
4. Stay hydrated!! I bring my Brita water bottle so I can fill up at the drinking fountains. (tho I probably won't need to if we get the free DP!!).
5. Take breaks in the afternoon. It's most crowded then anyway, so go back to the resort and swim and nap.
I have more if you want them!
Did you know that you can do this yourself for way cheaper? I use Rit Sun Guard. You can see the info here: http://www.dermadoctor.com/product.asp?productid=476Just wanted to add one in that I've found. I just ordered from them, so can't tell you how they are yet, but seem really reasonably priced. The website is www.sunprotectioncenter.com and they sell t-shirts with the sunscreen built right in. It's supposed to be SPF30 for up to 50 washings and up to 200 hours of sunlight. They have about a zillion colors (including lime green!) and the shirts only cost $13 for adult sizes and $12 for kid sizes, and you get a $3 discount (per shirt) if you order 4 or more, making them just 10 bucks a shirt.
Now, what I do is just wash my kids clothes about once every 4 or 5 months in Rit Sun Guard and this way I get all their clothes protected at different times of the year and for those already protected it just adds another layer of sun protection to it. Hope that makes sense!Did you know that you can do this yourself for way cheaper? I use Rit Sun Guard. You can see the info here: http://www.dermadoctor.com/product.asp?productid=476
I usually buy this at Rite Aid near the detergent section. It is with all of the Rit dyes. One box costs about $2-3 and can be added to a whole load of clothes. It says it lasts for about 30 washings. For me, that's fine because I wash my kids' clothes about once a week, making that last about 30 weeks. Now, what I do is just wash my kids clothes about once every 4 or 5 months in Rit Sun Guard and this way I get all their clothes protected at different times of the year and for those already protected it just adds another layer of sun protection to it. Wow, thanks! I just went online and ordered these. We don't have Rite Aids here, so I checked online at Walmart, CVS and Walgreens and none of them carried it. My mom lives in Michigan and has Rite Aids so I thought of having her buy me some and send them. Then I figured out it was probably just a whole lot easier, and not much more expensive to just order it online! I'll wash all our clothes in them before we go (family of 5 x at least 5 t-shirts & 5 shorts should take a couple boxes right there). If we're there 2 weeks and I wash everything every third day (I'm bring 3 regular shirts and 2 swim shirts), they should still be fine, right? Thanks so much - my kids HATE suntan lotion (which I will force on them as they wiggle) so every little bit helps!

Ok, hope this doesn't sound to crazy, but I am worried that something will go wrong and we won't get to go to Disney in August. Disney is all I think about and now that I found the DIS I spend a lot of time reading and studying..
Does anyone else worry..![]()
