Huh. I'll be curious what you find out, because we'll be there that day, too. Now, we're not planning on doing most of that anyway, but it's still good to know ...

And if you see a family with two little boys (8 and 4) and lime-green Mickey heads on a blue & green backpack, say hi! ;)

Will do!!! :wave2:

I have booked a trip at the end of April for WDW and I'm very excited! It will be my first time there and I'll also be having my 20th birthday there! The only nervousness I have is that I'll be going alone but I'm a very independent person so it's not something I worry about.

Happy Early Birthday and what better way to spend it than at Walt Disney World!! Enjoy the magic!

I was wondering how many ppl, of Any made itineraries or plans?! I have one made for MK. Not the rest though. Should I just go with the flow or make a rough plan?

I made a plan for rope drop each day, then playing it by ear for the afternoon/evenings. I've changed things a little since then, but here is my PTR. There are some really great suggestions to my plans on here:

This is how it usually works for us. Planned mornings, and less planned afternoons & evenings. I just finished some "highlights" lists that I'm going to print off and take with me (I'm still working on the formatting, because I don't like how big they're going to be)

Here's an example for Magic Kingdom:

I have the show & character times for all the ones I think we'll like to see, and the attractions are listed in the order I think we'll do them, which should hopefully garner the shortest waits.
I used EasyWDW this time, which isn't as much of an exact science, but I think we'll still be successful.

I made a TP for each day of our visit but I am still nervous about lines, especially since we have never been there before.
You should be fine. The way I look at it, by using a touring plan guide, you're at the very least better off than you would be if you went in without planning at all. Sure, you might not get to do everything with a walk on, but they're really good for keeping wait times down.
When we used Touring Plans a few years ago, the only time we waited more than 20 minutes for anything was when we deviated from the plan significantly (ie DH INSISTED on doing Star Tours at around 10am, even though TP indicated that we could do it with a much shorter wait later in the day).
Do they still have their "Cheat Sheets" posted? I found those incredibly helpful for when we went off plan a little bit and needed to make adjustments.

I have been spending the last two years searching for a job and now 9 days before I spend nine days traveling to and from Disney I get an interview. I know I should be happy but I'm worried my vacation will impede my chances :(

Congrats!!! I know what that's like. I was unemployed for 2 years too :( no fun

I wouldn't worry about it too much. I mean...some people have to give 2 weeks notice at their old job before they can start a new one, right?
I imagine the only problem would be if there are a series of interviews and one of them falls during your trip.

Enjoy your vacation! It will be good for you!

In 2009, I was interviewing for a new job and they wanted to set up a 2nd interview with the V.P. who would be coming in from out of state....of course he was coming in the week of our already planned WDW vacation!!! :scared1:

I told them, "Sorry, I'm going to Disney that week", thinking that they would lose interest (and I knew there were several other great candidates), but the V.P. decided to extend his stay to do my interview when I got back....and I was offered the job later that day!! :goodvibes

It's actually good because it kind of set the tone for where my priorities lie :rotfl2:
Next week, I will be leaving for my 3rd extended WDW vacation (11 days) since I got that job....they don't even bat an eye. :wizard:

I have to be up at 4am...and I cannot sleep ..ugh!!! Flight leaves at 8:05am....excited doesn't begin to describe my feelings!

Only 6 days left!! WooHoo!! First blended family trip! Have the kids all prepared for the 24-26hr drive from Maine! Don't tell them, when I wake them up at 5am Tuesday I will drive them the 1 mile to the airport! They will lose their minds!!! Is that bad??

4 days til we hit the road, 5 days til we arrive.

I was checking easywdw yesterday and Josh said that the crowds have thinned. Yay!

EMH CHANGE FOR AK

Josh also said the morning EMH for AK on the 22nd has been canceled and will be on the 21st instead. So anyone planning to go for the special activities on the 22nd, just be aware that there is no EMH that day now. I based all my morning plans on which park has EMH but I'm not going to change anything at this point. I'll still go to AK. The TA calendar is not showing this change but I do see it when I go to My Disney Experience.

With being in the state of limbo for the last few months, we put our dog down yesterday, and I should be packing now. I couldn't let myself pack as long as I still felt the trip could be canceled, but now we are for sure going, and I am having a hard time gathering my thoughts and my stuff to begin the packing process. I am "Miss Organization" and right now you would never know it!

I don;t think that is bad. We are surprising the kids by taking a limo to the airport. None of them have been in one before!:cool1:

I use to snowmobile in Bangor now we drive by it to get to Jackman Maine. You suppose to get snow this weekend too?

Ah well....I'm not going to change my plans at this point either so maybe I'll see you there as that is the same day we are going.

What??? The whole reason we were going on the 22nd was because of amEMH!!! It's our only day there so I wanted to make sure we would be able to get all the big ones done (EE, Dinosaur, Safari) first thing before it got too crowded. And with all the Earth Day stuff it's going to be extra-crowded anyway. I wonder if there's anyway I could still change ADRs around at this point and go on the 21st...hmmm. But DH really wanted to be there on Earth Day. WHY do they do this to us????

Anyway, on a more serious note, I am so sorry for your loss. We have a 13-year old Lhaso Apso who is really showing her age these last few months and I get emotional just thinking about it. But it sounds like your dog lived and long and full life, and was very loved. What more could a pet ask for? Hopefully your vacation will give you a much needed reprieve!
