Truly doing the happy dance. Plane leaves in an hour. We fly all day and will be at the poly by dinner time!!! So excited!!!

We leave Friday afternoon. A little nervous about all the rain looming in the forecast for next week, but I know we're still quite a few days out from an accurate forecast. First trip to FL ever! So excited. We will start the 17 hour drive around 3pm Friday.

dont even worry yet. Our trip 2 years ago, we had rain forecast every day between 70-90%. It rained one day out of 8. There is no way they can tell this far out if it will rain, and sometimes even the day of they are way off.

If we didn't go to MK the moment we got there, I'd have to listen to our 5 year old whine all day! All of us, DH included, don't want to miss a minute of available park time! No pool days for us, just during youngest DD's nap time. We can swim at home... we're there for the mouse! Maybe when they're a little older we'll plan a WP day... we'll see!

On our first trip (2008) we didn't go to a park on our arrival day, and we kind of regretted it. Made for a restless evening. Since then I always plan a couple of hours of park time with dinner on our arrival day. We are so excited that first day that it doesn't matter how little sleep we've gotten, the adrenaline keeps us going, lol!

In our 3 trips in the past 4 years, we've actually only gone to a park on arrival day once. We usually don't arrive until after 5pm and travel in the winter, so by the time we get into our hotel and settled, most of the parks are closed anyways.
This year is a bit different, because we should be completely checked in by 3pm. We can't go to a park though, unless we want to give up a full day later on in the trip. I think we'll probably end up at Downtown Disney for dinner.

Depending on how this trip goes (ie how stir crazy I get) and whether or not they continue to offer the Armed Forces Salute in the future, I might be able to convince DH that IF we do the AFS tickets, we should stay in a Deluxe, because there's more to do there.
I think it will be fine though. Even POFQ has access to some activities.

Friday cannot come soon enough. Hopefully being at the happiest place on earth will do something for DH's mood. He's been sick and miserable for weeks and while sick he decided to try to quit smoking (for the 500th time) and the cold is starting to go away but now the nicotine withdarawal has kicked in x100. He is absolutely unbearable when he quits....its so bad i am usually praying he starts smoking again by the 2nd-3rd week. Just a miserable, mean, pr!ck. Cant even have a conversation with him because it ends up in a fight. I dont think we've said more than a sentence at a time to each other for over a week now. I dont care how miserable he feels, he better plaster a smile on his face come friday, or start smoking again; one or the other.:furious:

Bummer. DH smoked before we met. I actually have no idea when he quit, because he gives me a different answer every time I ask him (I think he wanted to "look good" when we first started dating so he lied). At one point, he told me that in order to quit, he ate a cigarette.
I have no idea if that's true or not, but I imagine it would make the whole habit distasteful.

hmmmm..... does he have to willingly eat a cigarette or will it work if one is shoved down his throat?? ;) :rolleyes1 :lmao:

No direct flight for us. Flying red eye from Hawaii! 14 hours of fly time on 2 planes before arriving Monday (april 15) at 6am! Not doing parks on arrival day either. I just dont think my body would cooperate after the long travel day and with it being our first trip, I think we will enjoy the resort and DTD before entering the parks anyway.

Where are you driving from? Our trip is about 16.5 hours. (Btw - My other id at other sites i cjajsmommy - just a bit like yours.)

OMG! 11 hours and we are on our way! After all this planning, it seems unbelievable! Too excited to sleep

I expect it will work either way, however, it probably would also be grounds for divorce, which would likely have an effect on your Disney budget for the foreseeable future. :lmao:

Yeah...you're probably correct. My last flight was from Seoul to Kansas City, so I empathize with you. Although, I would have much rather been going to Disney, instead of a military base in the middle of the Kansas prairie.
I hope for your sake that your room is ready when you arrive!

Hellol, I am in tears reading all ur posts about getting ready to fly out. I am leaving on the 26th and just hurt my back. I can't do anything without being in pain. I also don't know how I hurt it. Was just on the floor packing for and when I got up was in pain. I go to the chiropractor today. Not sure how I am going to get to the car to get my DS off to school and then me to the appt! Sorry for being a downer.

No worries! It's gonna be magical! Positive thinking and a little pixie dust and everyone will have a great vacation! Bring the ponchos and make the best of it. We have in the past. My friends who live in Orlando tell me never pay attention to weather forecasts a week away. They never get it right. pixiedust:

I think you have plenty of time to recover so i wouldnt panic just yet. Ive thrown out my back many times and usually the first few days are the worst. Just take it easy for the next few weeks. :)

Thanks I needed to hear that. I am in so much pain I am not thinking clearly. All I can think of is not being able to walk around in the parks.:crazy2:
