:sad1: I knew they would go fast or go up fast. So I made sure to be ready. It was the same way with our outbound flight. I got it within minutes for 135.00. NO way we could afford to pay what I see now. So sorry for anyone that missed it.

Now that everyone is getting their airfare set ~ lets talk Disney in April!!! :cool1:

We have never been in April, and I am hoping for nice weather, lower crowds...Have any of you done April before (but not Easter week), and what has your experience been?? :goodvibes

yup, I just went this past April - not Easter week. Crowds were ok (we go at RD so always are ahead of the crowds), weather was WARM for me - I think low 80's? I was sweating my *** off, lol. I like low 70s.

Now I need to book my flights down on SW so if anyone's checking out SW flights and happens to see their flights drop in price, post here. No way am I paying $350/pp. :headache:

Nice!! I'm good with low 80's...I am just coming off of a July trip though! :lmao:

We've been in Feb before when it was low 80's during the day and then down to about 55 at night. We loved that!!!

I got my outbound flight for $130 around 10:00 am (because I totally forgot they opened up, LOL). It was gone by the end of the day, but 45 minutes is nuts!!

I *almost* got up at 6:00 too, but thought "nah, I can wait until 7:00" ....my bad!!

I am also curious, Mousemommy1. We have high hopes for the last week in April. :) (We went in February last time and got temps in the 50s! That's why we're not doing it again. It's still warm compared to where we're from, but I want to swim!)

I have a somewhat sheepish question to ask. It's been seven years since I last made ADRs, well before the online system. I'm gearing up to make mine Thursday.

How does it work? Will they let me enter my confirmation number to get ready before the 6 a.m. start time? And then do you need to make them in order, or can I pounce on, say, CRT or Ohana, although they're not in chronological order (and are past 180 days -- I do have the # though)? (I'm guessing I can, but I want a game plan in order in advance ...)

And if that is the case, which of these should I make first? This will be our first time at CRT, and I've read to pounce on that immediately, but then I've also heard horror stories about getting in at Ohana, and that's DH's only ADR request at all. He loves the place.

They are:
Chef Mickey (dinner)
Crystal Palace (dinner)
Hollywood & Vine (lunch)
Ohana (dinner)
Boma (dinner)
Cape May Cafe (dinner)
Sci-Fi Dine-In Theater (dinner)
Cinderella's Royal Table (breakfast)

Any advice appreciated. :)

You will need to enter your confirmation # in order to link and get the 180+10 deal...you should really be fine at 6:00 am. I did mine on Saturday. You can jump around...I did BOG first but that isn't even until the last night of our trip, but I wanted to make sure to snag it!!!

CRT is pay in advance (if not on the DDP, so be prepared for that) $175 for breakfast...:crazy2: But, for my baby girls 9th birthday - gotta do it! :upsidedow

Just have your credit card ready to do the holds. It's kind of a pain because you have to do it for each one.

Its getting closer and closer every day. Book our ADR's last Wednesday and got everything we wanted. 6am on the computer is the way to go. Going April 15-23rd and staying at the Beach Club Villas. Renting points so a 8 night stay is only $1875! We did our airfare in June when we first book the room and it was $1137 non stop out of NYC. Looking at fares now I'm happy we booked ours early.

i know a lot of us do anyways, but you don't really need to get online and book ADR's right ON day 180. Even CRT and Chef Mickeys & O'hana will have decent availability for at least a month or two.
The others I have booked like 1 month before the trip, no problem. So it's not like you have to be up at 5:59 a.m. with credit card in hand, lol.

DH wanted to go in July (he's crazy). I would have preferred February. So April was a compromise for us :cool1:

Hoping we'll hit a happy medium! Low 80's isn't too bad, especially if we are napping and swimming during the hottest part of the day. DH is still worried it will be too cold to swim. And we're from Colorado - I told him if April was too cold for US to swim, how is anyone swimming in February??

Hehe ... we're from Buffalo. DH was wearing shorts when it was in the 50s and other people were wearing parkas! :D I think he would even have gone swimming, but I wasn't doing it and neither was the baby!

Thanks, folks, for the advice on the ADRs. I had heard some horror stories about Ohana, etc., going fast, so I wanted to be sure to get them. I will still probably be up and waiting at 6 a.m., though, because it's part of the fun for me. :) (I'm weird like that.)

Just this once, we want to do CRT and are ready to pay. :scared: I doubt I'll get another time with two little boys when it's not "Ewww, princesses!" Right now they're just characters to them and I can't wait to see their reaction to eating at the castle!

You know, though, it just occurred to me. We're on the dining plan, so we'll have be using two TS options for CRT. How does that work with the credit card requirement?

If you're on DDP, you will still need your CC to hold the reservation -- like all of the others, but you won't have to pay in full for the whole amount. :goodvibes
Because we are not doing DDP this year, I had to pony up the $175 for the meal when I booked. You won't have to do that.

Man! I guess I should have gotten up early. Still haven't booked any flights... I just can't pay what I'm seeing now. We can go out of BDL, HPN, LGA, but everything is too much. We are stuck on the Sunday to Saturday timeframe too due to work schedules so... that isn't helping. *Sigh* Keep my fingers crossed I guess...

Flights are booked!!! Hoop Dee Doo reservations are made!!!

Now I'm ready to sit back and relax!

YAY!!!:cheer2: 91,000 pts for the 5 of us. Could be worse, I suppose. I can't imagine paying cash. That would have sunk the trip!

From here on out I'm keeping the SW page up with the flights up for my day in another window and I just keep hitting Refresh every few minutes. Sometimes the prices go down (or up) for just a few minutes, and then goes back up again. I'm at a desk probably 60 hours/week so I sure as heck better not miss when my flight goes down, lol. Except sometimes it happens over night and then I wake up to my alert emails

I guess that sometimes it will go down the next day...just keep an eye out!!! :magnify:

Tues-Weds. is usually when fares go down so maybe they will tomorrow. i'm not that concerned, my flight home was what had me worried. I know I'll get something decent at some point for the flight down.

So aside from all this airfare talk... i was thinking how we still have to get through Thanksgiving..... and Christmas..... and THEN the ENTIRE WINTER!! :scared: I know the holidays will fly by but those 4 months after Christmas are LOOOONNNNNG!!! Esp. if you're in New England :sad2:

well I start playing Christmas music in Oct, and right through december. That is the Holiday season right? Then on Jan1 I start what my family calls the Disney season, its all disney music Jan/Feb/march. I like Magicalmouseradio too for in park music. Makes you feel like you are there. I also play my disney cd's in the car :goodvibes So when the tree comes down the Disney season starts in my house. Of course who is kidding, I play the music when I am home doing laundry/cleaning, etc. But its usually official for the whole family in Jan. Am I nuts? Yup.
