OFFICIAL April 2012 DISers! 2 months and counting!

I updated our first post and the name of the thread. As usual, if I missed you or screwed up, let me know and I'll fix it. (And I won't wait so long to update next time, promise!)

We booked the 7th and the 8th at POFQ last night, officially extending our vacation two days. We'll be booking the plane tickets either tonight or tomorrow. Once we do that, and pay everything off this weekend, it will finally feel real, I think.

I'm always a pessimist, so I won't let myself believe it's real until we're too far in to back out. *grin*

:yay: for 2 more days and deluxe dining. That sounds great!!!

I booked the Wishes dessert party for our last night in Disney. I'm so excited. My DH tried to book it last year but wasn't able to get a ressie. I'm gonna surprise my parents. They don't even know it exists.

Can I join the April Party?

We are going April 14th-April 23rd, we are DVC members but are staying off site this time :scared1: at Sheraton Vistana Resort, which I heard is lovely!!

I am super excited because this will be our first trip that my youngest DS is going to be able to ride some of the "big" rides.

The youtube idea comes from a lesson learned the hard way. Because my kids are younger I didn't pay much attention to the scarier rides on our visit in 2010. However, while we were discussing Dinosaur with my DH's cousin we found out that his 6yo son's favorite ride is Dinosaur. So my oldest (8 at the time) decided to try it. She and I went on it together and I loved it. I liked seeing which dinosaurs came from which eras. I was so into it that I didn't realize she was freaking out until the most intense part. :sad2: She was hysterical by the end of the ride. She didn't want DH to go on it after that because she was afraid that he "wouldn't make it back." I took my name out of the running for mother of the year after that.

ew :( SO not fun to learn that lesson the hard way@

You will love Vistana. We are owners and stayed there 2 out of every 3 years for about a decade and a half.

That's how it is in my family too, my younger two boys will ride on everything....my oldest is a little more "selective" :rotfl:

Heck, I'm 36 and I'm still not sure I want to ride Dinosaur - I have a massive startle reflex - someone coming in the room while I'm washing dishes and have my back turned will make me jump!

I have watched the Youtube video a couple of times. I just can't decide if it would just be terrifying, or if I'd like it. Going to have DD watch and see if she'd be willing to go with me. Heh.

Hello everyone,

I just booked our trip yesterday. It will be myself, DH and DD age 10. We are staying April 27th to May 4th at Coronado Springs. 75 days and counting!!

ooooh!! Same time as us :) We arrive 26th but will be in the parks on the 27th til around the 5th thereabouts. WELCOME!!!

I have been a lurker on the DIS boards for quite awhile and I just discovered this forum today. It's awesome to be able to chat and share our excitement with others who will be at WDW the same time as us.

I just booked a couple of ADRs today. We are doing the character breakfast at Tusker House and lunch at Sci-Fi Dine-in. I think my daughter will like the atmosphere. Does anyone think we will have a problem if she wants to order off the kids menu? She's a bit of a picky eater and I don't see anything on the adult menu she would like.

I'm also thinking about booking the wishes dessert party. It's available on the night we want, but I'm just not sure if I want to drop $60+ dollars just for dessert.

Agnierae,
It's not that bad. After all, it's Disney, how bad can it be?

Mission Mars in Epcot, on the other hand....wow.

I'm not a big fan of Dinosaur. It is a little scary but I think what I don't like is, it jerks you around a lot! DS10 and DH do that one.

Joining in! We'll be staying at All Star Sports March 31-April 8! The WEEK BEFORE EASTER!! :scared1: It'll be my partner's very first trip! So excited to see it for the first time again through her eyes!

We will be there the same week - right next door at AS Music - be prepared, it is spring break for the state of Georgia - and last time that happened it was quite packed.

Uh oh. See, we're usually there the second week in April cause that's when our Spring Break is. This year, they have it as the first week in April. Not too happy about it, but what can ya do?? I know what to expect, have been there tons of times before and know the ins and outs, and we'll just make the best of it!
