*OFFICIAL* AP Watch thread for Jan/Feb UPDATE: THERE OUT 1/1 THRU 2/11

SnackyStacky - Thanks for the response. If the AP rates do come out I'm hoping to upgrade to something in the Epcot resort area. But I'm still excited to stay at POR, it's been 8 years since we were there last, and I think the kids would have a blast.

I received a post card today, Got WL for 109.00 per night. I told the CM that I had been waiting for the AP rates. CM told me that he thought AP rates would be released on 12-5, but said this was only a rumor, Sooo excited I got to book at this rate. Hope AP rates come out quickly for those still waiting.

For what time frame did you get WL at 109.00 a night? This whole postcard thing aggravates me!:(

The nights available on my Post card were 1/1/04 - 2/11/04. The CM told me the avaiable hotels would be WL and the AKL. I had no trouble getting the dates I wanted. I am going to email a thank-you to disney for the post card and ask them to please keep them coming.

Nov. 23 at 9:05 am no AP room rates as of yet. CM at CRO said they are in the dark as when AP room rates are comimg out.

I called yesterday and got an awesome CM! When I asked for a specific date with AP's she said that she had looked earlier in the morning but was glad to try again because she had been told that there would only be 5 minutes warning for them when the rates came out. It could be any time throughout the day and they should be in there really soon. She said it was because in the past some CM's told people ahead of time and it created problems.

Not Yet Monday November 24th at 7:05.

Monday - 11/24 at 11:30 Am EST - no new AP rates yet..My very nive CM told me to watch the upcoming Sunday papers for info...Rich

Sounds like it may be another package if it'll be in the papers next weekend. From what I've been reading (some rumors too I'm sure) Disney is leaning toward offering packages rather than room only discounts. If theme park attendance is up like they say in their latest earning announcement, there's less motivation for discounts. I've been waiting for an AP rate in January but I wondering if it'll ever happen.

I've been watching and waiting.

I have pop-century/Dolphin in Jan, would like to have WL/Dolphin

dual booking [having backup reservations in case AP rates don't come out] also deminish the nesccessity of giving us a discount as rooms are already booked.
It's been a couple years since I bought APs, but they used to list room discounts in the Micky Monitor. The November MM was disappointing [in that respect].

I called today and they are not out yet...but was told they will be out by the 5th....

I made my reservations anyways.......and will apply the code when it comes out...

Happy deal hunting guys!!!

Thanks again for calling each day. It does save many of us that time and hassle and helps us a great deal.

I know that it will mean little or nothing, but I felt compelled today to send a note to Disney to voice some personal frustration with this process of waiting for the AP rates. Again, it's probably nothing, but I felt the need to vent to them (in as constructive a way as possible).

I'm looking forward to a family trip to OKW and BCV in less than two weeks, but we're waiting for the AP rates for a trip with friends in January.

Hang in there all.

When I received my post card & made my RessiesI asked to Speak with a supervisor, This is the first year I have purchased a AP, I am not happy with the process of getting these rates. I explained to the CM I could not make several trips and wanted to stay on site, but could not afford it without the discounts. If I don't stay on site, Disney loses my lodging, Breakfast, dinner and night time trek to the gift shop or food court to buy munchies, As AP holders disney needs us to stay on site to make money off us. I had ressies off site, just in case I could not get a discount (that i cancelled) , he asked me to send in conformation for them and said he would "look into" my complaint. He was real helpful . I have not heard anything back, probably never will. I love Disney, but would like to see a dedicated AP reservation system.

Sorry but an annual pass is just that - a discounted admission to the theme parks. There are often additional benefits afforded to annual pass holders but I don't think they should be counted on. I have an annual pass and have taken advantage of the discounted lunches at Epcot, rented water mice and gotten some great AP discounts at the resorts.

I purchaed an AP for myself and my 2dd's because it gives us admission to the theme parks for a year. That is what was promised and that is what we get. If you bought an annual pass hoping for more than admission to the parks you may have made an error. Depending on the pass - ap or pap your breakeven point is 8 -12 days.

I too wish there were discounts for all my planned trips but I will take what is given. Disney is going to only discount the left over rooms to AP holders - like every other business. Ever try getting an airline seat on miles - talk about frustrating! Disney is a peach compared to some other loyalty programs. If you can't get your discount then look elsewhere. No matter where you stay, you got what you paid for, park admission, no more no less.

That said I booked the Dolphin for Feburary presidents week as I don't anticipate and AP discount that is as favorable.
