*OFFICIAL* AP Watch thread for Jan/Feb UPDATE: THERE OUT 1/1 THRU 2/11

Mikevarney,
The AAA rates for the Jan - early Feb time frame for the value resorts (standard at PC) are $68.70 per night including taxes. The cost for the moderates (standard) are $118.60 including taxes and for WL standard are $188.67 per night including taxes.

I remember the issue regarding AP rates the end of August and I have fears that the same thing will happen again. Here's hoping for some pixie dust!:wizard: :wizard: :wizard:

My AAA rate for CBR, is $118.60 NOT including taxes. hmm.....

Do you have a water view room, perchance? 20% off of $148 is $118.40, which is almost the same as what you quoted.

DUH - I have a "preferred room" LOL

<banging head against desk>

I booked my rooms at the Dolphin last month and got an AP rate for January. I was thinking about trying the AKL or PC if the AP rates ever come out, but I just love the Dolphin and its location. With Starwood membership and some fairy dust we normally get upgraded to a beautiful room, so we are definitly going to stay there.

I think its terrible how Disney tortures its best customers for months. AP holders are customers who are true and stay on site and eat on site several times a year and I just feel that discounts should be available to them at any time. I feel that the Swan/Dolphin understands that and makes a lot of efforts to accomodate their repeat customer/ AP holders (ie, automatic room upgrades, late checkouts, excellent rates). I have never seen Disney do that.

Should I book now and hope for the AP rates?
Going in Feb for 10 days at the Beach Club.
Any thoughts:confused:

I would definetly do that if I were you. Are you a AAA member? THey have AAA rates available- but when I called 2 weeks ago to get a ressie for January- there were only a few left! If you reserve with AAA, you can still change to the AP rates when and if they come out.

Flynnmnstr- how did you get an ap rate for jan 1st? we're staying dec. 31st on an ap rate but were told that the ap rates were not available until jan 6th? hmmmm.....maybe i should call back:tongue:

I agree...I'm happy with the Swan. I am tired of waiting for codes and rates. Tomorrow I can start making my PS's and I like to really plan things out...being at an unknown resort would put a twist into things! Besides, I'm mad I didn't get a postcard!

Not Yet, Thursday, November 20th at 7:15.:(

I've checked the Dolphin for our upcoming trip and there is no availability (AP and gov't employee). If the best I can get is the AAA rate that will be fine.

Thanks again magsmom for calling daily.........looking like we may have to wait unitl after turkey day! But, thats okay! I'm happy with my AAA rate also, but very optimistic about the AP rates to be released. Have a great day everyone.

I really appreciate this thread. I'm a DVC member, so don't book through CRO much. DH & I are getting into the habit of flying to Orlando the night before... SWA has a great non-stop flight that leaves Manchester, NH at 7:30 p.m. and lands at MCO at 10:30. To save points, we like to stay cheap that first night, then have our whole first day to enjoy.

So, to get to my point, we decided to try PC for the first night this coming January, and went ahead and booked a standard-view room for rack rates, intending to watch this thread and try for AP rates when they came out. I had no idea that I could get a AAA rate direct through CRO... I figured it needed to be a package deal or be booked via AAA. One night does not a package make, and I didn't want to go through AAA if I was going to try to get the AP rate later.

Anyway, I was delighted to find that I could call yesterday and get a credit for $17.17. The one caveat was that I have to call back after renewing my AAA membership that currently expires 12/03. Just renewed and plan to call back to verify.

The adjustment reduced my total price from $85.85 to $68.68. A savings of $17.17!!! Every little bit helps.

Sorry this post is slightly off-topic, but that is my other point... if this thread in particular had not strayed a tiny bit & talked about the AAA rates, I would have missed learning this.

So, thanks all! :teeth:

Just checked for AP and FLRes..nothing...but she expects them soon!

Maybe us "AP rate lurkers" should take up a collection to help magsmom with her daily long distance bill! :teeth:

Just wanted to say thanks too!!!!

1800 828-0228 it works for dining too if you sit thru several options, It's in the back of the passporter travel book...no one has ever questioned where I got it, so it doesn't seem to be a coorporate or old disney discount # or anything. I use it all the time, last night actually to change 2 days from the pop to the AKL!
