I want to be helpful. :)

For those that don't want to scoll through all the pages...here is a rundown of tonight's thread....

Chatting DURING American Idol started on page 164
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1765887&page=164

The AFTER the show talk about the Idols started on page 181
http://www.disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1765887&page=181

The chatting from pages 181 to 195 was mostly about tonight's Idol show. With a few off topic things off and on. There was also a lot of talk about country music (because of tonight's Idol theme.) There was some discussion of what it would be like if there was a "rap" week on Idol. A discussion about past Idol contestants happened on a few pages as well.

Even during the off-topic and past Idol chatting...comments about this season came up a lot.

The MOST off topic chatting took place around page 196 to 200. So skip over those if you don't want to read about random stuff.

Goodnight All!

That was nice of you.

And my apologies to those who don't like the OT stuff but I had too much fun!

I HOPE Ramiele is in the bottom 3 and is the one gone this week.
I can see KLC and Syesha in the bottom 3 too.

When do the dial idol rankings typically come out?

I just pre-ordered DC's studio and video versions of tonight's song. I'm looking forward to hearing the full version.

The songs on the show tonight were really short. Kind of surprised they didn't keep the show 90 minutes and let them sing a little longer.

Got this off another board. :sad1: :sad1:

I hope he's ok. Just to think he was going through all that and still pulled off such a great performance. I adore that man!!

TMZ has learned what probably triggered the medical emergency with
David Cook tonight.

As we first reported, Cook was taken to the hospital after his heart
began palpitating and his blood pressure rose. We're told Cook, who
has high blood pressure to begin with, has been under tremendous
stress because his brother has been ill. We're told David's brother,
who has cancer, suffered a setback within the last week, and it has
really put David on the ropes.

David has been completely stressed out during the entire season.
During one of the first shows, David broke down and said he couldn't
perform that night -- and changed his mind at the last minute.

We're told earlier tonight, David began complaining that he did not
feel well. After the performance, Cook reassured people he was OK --
but ultimately realized he needed medical help.

Thank you so much for going to so much trouble! I don't mind the "Idol Chatter" at all, but I avoid the thread during the show. ( I have to devote every single second to it, ;) ) By the time I make it to the thread I never know where to start reading, lol. Again, thank you. You didn't have to do it, but just wanted to let you know that it is appreciated.

I like DC more. MJ is okay...especially if I don't look at him. I just don't like watching him.

Okay, I'm about to exterminate a BEE...

OM... how horrible. Is it true? TMZ always has me wondering...

Here's my mini report as I've mainly lost interest since my favorite 3 have been tossed. Still, last night was, for me, the best night so far. Dolly is fantastic! :thumbsup2

Brooke: Jolene is one of those songs that shouldn't be sung with any hint of a smile. So her grinning took away points as did her quest to find the correct pitch. Still it was an OK performance if a bit emotionless. She gets a 7

David C: Little Sparrow. Who knew there were so many Dolly songs I had never heard of. This was the first of 5 that were new to me. After fans criticizing Amanda for her lack of diction, I feel justified in pointing out I had to turn on closed captioning to catch the words to this ditty. I did like his performance though and loved his new look. He gets a 9.

Ramiele: Do I Ever Cross Your Mind. Another unknown last night and still unknown this morning. I was so bored by her cute, little, tiny, itsy bitsy performance  that I started channel surfing. She gets a 4 because what I did hear was in tune.

Jason: Boredom Part II. Another mystery song... Travelin Thru. It was OK but he's bored me since he sang Hallelujah. He got a 6.

Carly: Carly has been growing on me the past couple of weeks and her rendition of Here You come Again was excellent. Loved the arrangement and loved her stage presence. Despite Simon's critique of her outfit    , she snagged a coveted 10+

David A.: Wonder boy really was a wonder last night. Singing another song I hadn't heard before, Smoky Mountain Memories, he just nailed it in every way. One of his best and one of the best of the entire season, he gets a 10++.

Kristy Lee: I don't really want to like this girl because she's caused three of my favorites to depart but last night's performance was terrific. Singing Coat of Many Colors, she was right in her element. A few pitch problems but still it was very good. She got an 8.

Syesha: I guess Syesha didn't get the memo. Do not sing any song identified with Whitney. She did an OK job and that last note was amazing but I don't ever want to hear that song on AI again. I gave her a 6 and most of that was for the final note.

Michael: It's all wrong, but it's all right. The final never heard of it song. Michael needs to watch the Constantine facial moves. While I really enjoyed his performance, I kept wishing it had been Chikezie singing this. Still this may have been his best for me so far. He got an 8.

Who I want to go home:
Ramiele
Jason

Who I think will go home:
Syesha

As always... JMHO! :teeth:

Why do I have this overwhelming deisre to go nurse him back to health :confused3 Seriously, I hope that he is ok. Very sad about his brother.

Also sad about Elliott's mom. I remember her in the audience every week cheering for him like mad. They seemed like they had such a great relationship.

Who I think will go home:
Syesha

As always... JMHO! :teeth:

I think you're right that Syesha will go, though I really, really want KLC to go first. I think it should be KLC, Ramiele and Syesha voted off as the next 3.

Just wanted to add my condolences regarding Elliott's Mom. :sad1: Elliott was one of my favorite Idols and his Mom was such a sweetheart.

Also, having just had my own close encounter with heart palpitation, I hope David C is feeling OK. It's a very scary event.

Very sad to hear about Elliot's mom. I loved seeing their close relationship. I always liked him on Idol.

Please anyone update ASAP about David Cook. I haven't watched last night preformance yet, because of the NCAA tourney, but I adore him and seeing what this genius has done next! So sad about his brother.

I hope Kristy goes home tonight. I don't like her attitude at all. I can't believe how horrible Simon was to Carly. She has an excellent voice. She is better than alot of the big singers out there. I thought Syesha did a great job with the song she sang. She isn't one of my favorites but she did a wonderful job last night. Simon is usually right on but last night for me he was way off. My two favorites are Carly and David C. I also love Brooke. She is not the best singer but what a great person.

I totally missed last night as I was stuck at work until 10p. I'll have to check in with rickey's site to see all the performances now...:surfweb:

My completely correct and brutally honest rundown of last night:

Prelude - Dolly Parton - or "Hannah Montana's gramma", as my 7 yo DD called her - is obviously a country music legend. That said, I'm not a huge fan, despite well appreciating her talents (I mean her singing and writing...what is wrong with you people ;) ). Some of her music I really like, but some of it just makes her voice grating to me, so this should be interesting.....

Brooke White – Jolene – See, this is one of those times when talent meets the right song...and still misses the mark. Brooke sang the song technically very well. But there just didn't seem to be any connection there for her. So while it was pleasant enough, it ended up being somewhat forgettable. I give it a popcorn::

David Cook – Little Sparrow – This was possibly the first performance this year that seriously has me considering signing up for iTunes. I don't usually argue with Simon, but DC absolutely nailed that. This rates a HUGE :worship:

Ramielle Malubay – Do I Ever Cross Your Mind – In answer to her question: No. Well...occasionally, but only when I'm thinking "Gee, who should get voted out next." Yet another lousy performance from one of the two or three people that are completely outclassed by the rest of the group. It barely rates a

Jason Castro – Travelin’ Through – This was the first time since "Hallelujah" that I actually liked Dreadboy. I mean...he actually sang at times during this song, which is something he hadn't done in a couple weeks. I'd give it a solid :hippie:

Carly Smithson – Here You Come Again – When I heard she was singing this song - which is somewhat "cutesy" the way Dolly sings it - I cringed. Fortunately, she's smart enough not to try to do Dolly's performance, and in the end I really liked the result. Carly's not my favorite performer, but she is starting to grow on me (and Simon's right...she needs to pimp slap the people dressing her). But the performance rates a solid :thumbsup2

David Archuleta – Smokey Mountain Memories – Gotta say, that's the best performance he's given since "Imagine". But what's with the "christian pop" kinda sound he's got goin'? I liked his singing, but could do without that vibe. Still, I'd give it a :flower1: overall.

Kristy Lee Cook – Coat of Many Colors – See, this is what I mean about Dolly. Her voice is kinda annoying to me...but I can't stand hearing someone else sing a couple of her songs, 'cause they just don't sound right. This is one of those songs. I still think KLC is gorgeous, but at this point, all I can give this is a

Syesha Mercado -- I Will Always Love You – In a word: :scared1: It wasn't good enough to be Dolly's version, and not bombastic enough to be Whitney's.

Michael Johns – It’s All Wrong But It’s All Right - Well, what do ya' know...Pretty boy can actually sing a little. ;) Seriously...this was a very good performance, and rates at least a :woohoo:

Overall Best of the Night - A three way tie between the two David's and a Jason.

Overall Worst - Ramielle edges KLC by a nose.

I was genuinely surprised at how much I enjoyed last night even though I didn't know the songs. Dolly is a gifted songwriter.

Loved David Cook and Brooke. Liked Carly and Michael.

I thought David A. was HORRIBLE last night. I totally disagree with Simon in that it was not a good song choice. Vocally he was fine, but the song was so old fashioned and irrelevant for his age. And come on....that bit during the clip about how the song reminded him of home....I am sorry but this kid is so fake and manufactured. Such a shame too because he IS talented.

Go home Ramiele and Kristy. Please. Sadly I think Sayesha's days are numbered but at least she is somewhat pleasant (if boring) to listen too. It will be a shame if she goes before Ramiele and Kristy.
