I can't believe I have another week to suffer through Anthony. However, I'm glad Scott's past didn't bite him in the butt. Nikko was growing on me though.

Shuis--

I agree with you. I guess its ok in America to have a violent person on a TV show.

I really wanted Scott to be gone tonight. He looked resigned to the fact as well.

I personally liked Nikko yesterday. I felt bad for him. But I know that he has a fantastic support system already (famous family) so I'm sure he will be fine.

I really want Scott to go.

I don't really understand how what I said was racist. I'm not racist, I was just stating that I don't like how he turned a song from a musical into R&B, or whatever you call it.
Yeah, I call it R&B not "ghetto." Thanks

It basically seems like people are OK with the fact that he got violent with his child's mother. :sad2:

That's exactly what my father said. He had a few other things to say, but they weren't very nice, so I'll keep them to myself.

I'm so glad I missed Fantasia's performance. I did not like her last season, and I could never see how she won. As soon as her songs come on the radio, I switch to a new station. I just can not stand her voice.

Though I am a Nikko fan, I'm sort of okay with him leaving. I think Scott or Anthony should have gone first, but there was no way Nikko was winning the competition. I would like to hear more from him in the future, though.

Fantasia stunk as well. Did anyone else notice her lisp when she sang/screamed? I counted a lispy sound/enuciation problems seven, yes seven times during the scream fest.

I don't think people are "okay" with Scott's past, but it is his PAST. It was one time. Has no one here ever done something they've regretted? God help us all if we're all judged by our pasts.

Have to say that I'm losing my faith in America's taste in music and musicians!!!! Who out there can honestly say that Scott is better than Nikko?? And what the heck was Vonzell doing in the bottom three??!!! I'm just not getting it. I must be too old for this whole concept.

I do think Scott is much better then Nikko. That was established weeks ago when Nikko was voted out the first time!

I felt Nikko should've been in the bottom 3 along with Scott & Anthony. I feel Anthony should've been the one to go home. He sounded horrible last night. Very pitchy especially in the beginning of the song he sang. Since the final 2 was between Scott and Nikko, Scott was the 2nd worst singer last night behind Anthony. Therefore, Scott should've went home. Still confused how Vonzell got in the bottom 3? This baffles me. Bo was worse than her?? At this point I bet the finale this year will be between Constantine & Bo. I have a feeling just listening to Simon & Randy's comments, that they would really prefer a "rocker" to win.

I also agree about Fantasia. I'm not a fan of her music. She's always screaming in her songs. They play her to death on the radio stations I listen to in Michigan. I also heard that she is coming out with a book on her life and her struggles.

Nice to see I wasn't the only one who thought Fantasia was terrible and was just a lot of screaming!

I would have preferred Scott to go home but Nikko going doesn't bother me.

I hope next week has a better theme.

Sweet Angel, nothing as terrible as hitting the mother of my child (or whatever the equivalent would be if he was a woman)

So if he shot someone 4 years ago, it would be ok now because that was in the past, and it was only one time? I'm sorry but being violent is violent, no matter how violent it was, or when it happened. Once someone commits a violent act it goes on their record, and is remembered.

And I'm sure that everyone here has done something in the past they've regretted, I have too. But the difference is, I've never done anything violent. I'm sure people regret things they did when they were younger, but if they didn't hurt anyone, than it's no big deal.

I am another one that thought Fantasia stunk tonight. I was not a fan of hers last year. Her first line made me remember what I disliked about her....something is pronounced something NOT shomething! I had to turn it off when she started the screaming and bouncing...it was just aweful!

I thought Scott would be gone no matter how he sang yesterday. I didn't vote for anyone yesterday. Tried to get through for Carrie and gave up after a while. Anthony got lucky this week. He still reminds me of the Osmonds...Donny in particular. The way the arrangement was for his song sounds just like what they would have done with it.

I don't judge him on his past. I'm not even clear on the details of that incident. I did see his mug shot someone posted here and thought he realllllly needs to change that look when he's singing. He looks scary. I think its because he never smiles or shows any emotion whatsoever. Its like he's empty inside. I have no idea if that is the case or not, but its the vibe I get. I think he has a decent voice though, and think he is deserving of his status as one of the finalists on this show. I've said repeatedly throughout this thread, starting from when there were 12, all of them are talented. Some need to work on presentation and having a feel for being on stage -- he needs the most work in that area, imo.

Oh, I've been meaning to ask you guys, as I don't visit any Idol sites out there (I know some here do)......what is the deal with having no guest judges this year??? I really miss that!!! :( They had a few in the try outs, but none for the finalists? Anyone know why, and if they plan to have them as we get further down the line?

They had guest judges during the auditions until they came to hollywood. Maybe they just changed the format.

Actually, I would have bet on Scott, Nikko or Anthony leaving. Since Nikko's gone, it will be Scott or Anthony next.

I agree. This "one strike you're out" attitude I'm seeing lately is kind of scary. And throwing a phone is not the same thing as killing someone!

I was OK with Scott and Nikko being in the bottom three this week but I would have preferred to see Anthony there too. I don't get the attraction to him. :confused3

Actually, I find it vastly more disturbing that people are just willing to dismiss it as a one time thing.

let me clue you in on a little secret...

Just because someone was only charged with ONE time, doesn't mean thats the only time they did it.

I don't like scott. i didn't like him before I found out about his domestic violence issue, and I like him even less now.

I hope he's the next to go.

anthony is not as capable as anyone else on that stage, and the only reason he's still around is that teenage girls think he's "hot".

I hated Fantasia's performance. any one of the contestants on the stage right now is better than fantasia.

I am also missing the celebrity judges. barry malinow was an excellent judge last year, if he hadn't gone into music he would have made a wonderful teacher.

I guess my ten votes for Nadia helped her this week :).

As for the show, I enjoyed how they didn't go through everyone tonight and rehash the judges' comments. When I saw Nadia in the lower right seats next to Bo, I got scared that either Nadia or Bo would be in the bottom three. Nevertheless, Nikko and Scott were no surprise to me, but Vonzell was. Then again, I agree with Paula that there are a lot of strong contenders this year (but I disagree that they'll get record contracts).

As for Scott - I've stayed out of the abuse debate and I still will. Let's just say, though, that Scott is incredibly scary. No doubt about it. He looks shady to me. Not someone I'd consider an "American Idol."

As for Nikko leaving - no great loss. I think that Anthony and Scott should have left before him, but Nikko wasn't a favorite of mine and I won't miss him.
