Obviously to each his own looks-wise, but I'm hard pressed to understand how so many people are of the opinion that a Boston Conservatory trained singer who's also been in a travelling production of a Broadway show can't sing. It totally befuddles (I love that word) me.

because his singing isn't the type we like to listen to. I am not a musical know it all, but I know what I like to hear and his voice is not it.

I can totally understand that. Like I said, to each his own. No one expects everyone to like the same thing. But to flat out say he can't sing isn't really accurate. It may not be to your taste or liking, but bottom line is he wouldn't have gotten into the Conservatory if he couldn't sing. I don't like opera, but I'd never say that those people can't sing.

I also feel to each his own....after all if we all had the same tastes in looks and music it would make for a really boring Idol season...actually there wouldn't be any reason to vote, it would just be "pick a winner tonight" show. I do think his voice is definately better suited to musical theater than "AI" status. I can definately see him performing on Broadway and doing really well with it.

Now that picture that was posted was just bad...not his best look!

BTW...to whoever said that Carrie should sing "hopelessly devoted to you" from Grease....I think that song was added to the film version and is not part of the broadway version...anyone else know???

You're right about that. It's only in the film version.
