Am I the only one who is waiting for an 1980's theme and hoping that Anwar will break out into a Milli Vanilli song? He has a better voice than the guy that they lip sync's for though!

I think that Jessica went because she and Carrie are a lot alike in some ways, and people just preferred Carrie. I think this is the same reason that one day either Bo or Constantine will go. Bo is the better singer, but Constantine is pretty and he has a lot of stage presence. It will be interesting to see which one wins that match up!

I can't say that I am surprised that Jessica was voted off, but I am disappointed. I really thought Anthony was going to go.

My favorite of the night was Constantine, with 2nd favorite Vonzell, and 3rd Carrie. Anwar, who is usually my overall favorite was somewhere in the middle, but certainly not deserving of being in the bottom 2! And what is it with Nadia being in the bottom 3? Can't people get past the mohawk during the Cyndi Lauper song and give her a break???--- she is a great performer! She was GREAT while singing Melissa Etheridge! My DD said she thought she even sang it better than the original!

Personally, my bottom would have been Anthony, Scott and Bo. Don't trash me, I just didn't like Bo's performance this week and couldn't understand a thing that he was singing. When Simon said that it sounded like a performance at a wedding, I really had to wonder what kind of weddings Simon has been to lately!

Wonder what the theme of the week will be next?

I don't think Jessica deserved to go. I was hoping it was Anthony cause that guy just bugs me. Not sure why, but he just does. IMO Carrie is best female singer up there, but she lacks the personality and stage presense. I don't know if she'll win, but she's going to go on to have a successful country music career. Bo and Constantine each have a unique style so it's hard to compare the two. But Constantine pretty? I don't find this quy attractive at all! He just doesn't do it for me. I'm guessing the final three will be Carrie, Bo, and Constantine.

Hi, everybody!

Wow, last night was a shocker! I'm not a big Jessica fan and I didn't think she'd make it all the way, but I didn't expect her to be voted off this week! I kind of expected Anwar to be in the bottom 3, along with maybe Nikko. As much as I like Scott and Anthony, I thought that either one (or both) would have been there last night, too. But definitely not Jessica or Nadia!

Did anyone notice the look on Anwar's face when they announced the results? He looked like he was ready to cry. I don't think he expected Jessica to go, either (it almost looked like he was prepared to go).

Depending on next week's performances, I think I see Scott or Anthony going next (much as I hate to think it).

His hair looks so over dry and frizzy with tons of split ends. Gross! He needs to cut it off and start over. It is too far past any help.

Just throwing this out there because I thought it was interesting. Did anyone else notice when most people on the thread (or really anywhere that's not the official line) comment about the past winners they always talk about Kelly, Clay, and Fantasia??? Ruben Studdard, anyone? (not that I really care cause I'm a die hard Clay fan, but still!) Last I heard of him he was suing his management. It just seems surprising that he went from being uber popular to fading into the woodwork so quickly.

I'm going to jump on a limb here, but does anyone else find Carrie a little boring. I mean, she sings good, she looks great, but she's a little "cookie-cutter" to me. Like just another good looking girl singer.

I think she's going to win because of those very reasons, but I won't be running out to buy her CD. I'd like to see someone more unique win. Pretty much any of the others would fit that bill.

Oh I completely agree with you. I don't know why people like her so much. I find her lackluster and boring. Nadia is better.

You're kidding right? Fantasia has the most raw talent of any American Idol contestant since the show started. If Fantasia had not won AI last season, the whole show would have been bogus. She HAD to win because she was the American Idol. When she sang "Summertime", people were moved to tears. I don't think anyone in this group (don't get me wrong - they are all good) is going to bring us to tears. The problem with these finalists is that they are all talented, but nobody stands out. Some are better than others, but there is no obvious winner.

It's going to be very interesting to see how it plays out.

I can't understand how anyone can like Everyone from the show this year. Most of them just don't have the It factor at all.

Congratulations Simon...mission accomplished. Your cruel comment as to Jessica's "unlikeability " factor sealed her fate and further cleared Carrie's path to victory. (BTW, didn't see any shots of Carrie wiping her dry eyes over this one...) She had the potential to cut in on Carrie's votes and certainly had the voice to match. As to Scott's escape, is he this year's John Stevens, garnering all the sympathy votes, regardless of his performance? Nadia is in serious trouble...possibly losing out to an increasingly popular Vonzell.
Anwar, Anwar, Anwar....you gotta pull this next one out. As Randy and Paula said, you have one of the top voices in the competition. Hopefully this is a kick in the pants that you and your fans need!!!!

Has anyone else noticed that the 3 that have been voted off so far were all under the age of 21? The only one left in the top 9 that is under 21 is Anthony...and I think he will be gone soon. Thought that was interesting. I know I like the more "mature" contestants better this year myself.

Also, just to comment on everything that was said about Fantasia...count me as another that thinks she is terrible! I can't stand to listen to her. But then, I thought pretty much all of the contestants from Season 3 were really bad. This season is definitely so much better! And as far as there is no one that really stands out...well, I think that is a good thing. It just means that they are ALL talented this year (with the exception of a couple) which makes it tougher to pick just one and also makes the competition so much more interesting. I would be so bored if there was only 1 or 2 that I liked. What would be the point of even watching?

If anything, the judges' comments work in the opposite direction. People vote just to spite Simon.
