Simon is probably the most honest of the judges but he is also the harshest. When he was asked if someone else should have been among the lowest three he just glared at Scott as he called his name. That likability thing with Jessica was kind of uncalled for too. How much personality does Carrie exhibit?

How about those Idol Muppets? Those commercials are kinda cute and sometimes clever. I really hated all three of the group sings--

Just throwing this out there because I thought it was interesting. Did anyone else notice when most people on the thread (or really anywhere that's not the official line) comment about the past winners they always talk about Kelly, Clay, and Fantasia??? Ruben Studdard, anyone? (not that I really care cause I'm a die hard Clay fan, but still!) Last I heard of him he was suing his management. It just seems surprising that he went from being uber popular to fading into the woodwork so quickly.

Ruben is always on the stations my son listens to. He has a new CD out and it quite popular with that group. I never hear Clay or Kelly so I could say the same thing. They are NEVER on the popular stations here.

Kelly and Clay...but mostly Kelly is on the radio all the time here...and not just 1 station but all but the country one.

If anything, the judges' comments work in the opposite direction. People vote just to spite Simon.

Hey Nancy, have you heard Fantasia on Buffalo radio at all? I don't believe I've even heard her once. I keep hearing about her CD, but I've yet to hear anything from it.

I've never heard Fantasia on the radio here in Toronto. I heard Ruben and Clay quite a bit right after they won and I hear Kelly a lot as well.

Editted to add that on the current Canadian Hit list (by radio play), Kelly is number 6 and 16 in Canada. Josh Gracin is number 30. Fantasia is not in the top 100.

Lol. You actually think that the judges comments mean anything now? People will vote for who they like. The judges are rather gratuitous and probably only on the show for looks at this point in the competition.

Laugh if you want, but there is no doubt that Simon has been on a mission to push Carrie to the top since the very beginning. One of the best means of doing so is to eliminate her closest form of competion. Just where do you think Jessica's votes are going to go????? From one blonde country singer to another. Jessica just wasn't as pretty, oops, I meant "likeable" enough. Simon wants to sell records. Yes, his comments can backfire on him at times, but they surely had the effect he was hoping for here.

I have to say I am shocked that Jessica is gone, not one of my favorites but wow I am surprised. I really thought the women were the strongest performers this week.

Like "California Girls"-- I can see Bo doing the David Lee Roth version
Or like Beach Boys surfing songs? I don't understand that theme...
