NEWS FLASH:
The smoking gun website reports the following:
American Idol Finalist's Violence Rap
Cops: Scott Savol roughed up ex-girlfriend during domestic dispute
MARCH 31--An "American Idol" finalist was once arrested for felony domestic violence after roughing up his infant son's mother during a Valentine's Day fracas, The Smoking Gun has learned.

Is anyone here surprised??

Yes, I'm surprised. That's depressing. :(

Ok Scott was arrested for spousal abuse... I wonder if he will drop out!

Maybe they play Fantasia more in the south, where she's from?
Well, maybe...but I live in the south and they don't play it in our area. (THANK GOODNESS!!!)

Does this mean he will get booted? Don't they kick people off for things like this? :confused3

Now, if that is the case, what kind of message does it send to our youth? I'm sure 19#E does not want to be known as advancing the career of a spouse abuser.

Don't be suprised to see him drop out.

The article about Scott isn't good but I guess that it could be worse. It sounds like a two way battle between him and his ex-girlfriend but then he threw a phone at her. He was convicted of a misdemeanor. Do Idol contestants have to be completely free of convictions or just felonies?

Eeeks! That sounds scary to have Mikalah back again... at least it would only be on tour!

i would think it would be the judges (simon) call on who comes back.

i will give you three guesses who they would chose and the first two guesses don't count...................that is if simon gets his way........ :sad2:

Back on AI2, stories reported about Corey (it was around this time of the season too) being charged with abusing his sister. He left the competition, and nobody was kicked off that week (but they did add the vote totals into the totals from the following week.)

Scott's incident happened in the apst, while Corey's incident still had pending court dates, so no idea how Scott will be handled.

I would LOVE to see Jessica replace Scott (if the judges chose, I'm sure they'd choose Jess), but that will never happen, they will just have a free week.

Hey Nancy, have you heard Fantasia on Buffalo radio at all? I don't believe I've even heard her once. I keep hearing about her CD, but I've yet to hear anything from it.

Not at all, I don't hear ruben either. I hear Josh Gracin on WYRK and I hear Kelly on Kiss all the time. Clay I usually hear on the easy listening music stations, either from Buffalo or Toronto.

I think Fantasia has mainly been played on R&B-type stations. Her next single, "Baby Mama" is hilarious! (to me at least) I beleive she will be singing it on AI next Wednesday night.

Scott was convicted and placed on probation according to the report. I would think that AI would have looked into all this to avoid embarrassment. It will be interesting to see what happens next.

My post was basically to refresh people's memories that happened back in AI2 since there was speculation going on about bringing people back if Scott does in fact leave the competition.

Honestly, I have no idea, or no opinion on whether Scott will or will not be asked to leave. Lots of people are speculating the former though.

I would like to see him leave though, just because I was never a fan.

I don't care if it happened a few years ago, I don't respect someone who does violent things like that, especially since it was the mother of his child. There's no way that someone like that should represent American Idol. I already thought he was a bad singer, but now I have lost respect for him as a person. I really hope they get rid of him.

As far as replacing him goes, I don't think they should bring anyone back, because that would be unfair. They should just do what they did 2 seasons ago, give them a free week where they perform, but no one gets voted off until next week.

Hopefully if he's gone, they'll bring back the person who came in 11th (Mikalah), so they can have 10 people go on tour, which is what they did in Season 2.

I think it is just for felonies. Anything that doesn't look good. He could probably be kicked off if the reports are indeed true, which they are from that site as it is reputable. We'll see what happens. Usually when kicking off contestants, they just keep it quiet and act like it never happened.
