You're kidding right? Fantasia has the most raw talent of any American Idol contestant since the show started. If Fantasia had not won AI last season, the whole show would have been bogus. She HAD to win because she was the American Idol. When she sang "Summertime", people were moved to tears. I don't think anyone in this group (don't get me wrong - they are all good) is going to bring us to tears. The problem with these finalists is that they are all talented, but nobody stands out. Some are better than others, but there is no obvious winner.

It's going to be very interesting to see how it plays out.

I'm another who did not like Fantasia. If she was so great where are her songs? I don't hear a single one played on the radio. And Summertime did not move me to tears. I was not impressed at all. I really didn't think anyone last year was that good. If Jessica were on last years show she might not be where she is today.

As for this year, I was surprised to see nadia in the bottom 3. I love her voice. I really thought Anwar would be gone and Anthony should have been in the bottom 3 (even though I like him)

I wasn't surprised to see Jessica go. I thought her performance this week was pretty dull. Perhaps if she had picked another song, she would still be around, although she wasn't a favorite of mine anyway.

I was sad to see Anwar and Nadia in the bottom. I thought they both did well. Definitely thought Scott and Anthony should have been with Jessica.

Oh well, those are the surprises that makes us keep watching. ;)

Does anyone remember Jim Varraros from Season 1? He had this sob story about how his parents were both deaf and they've never heard him sing and signed for them every time he sang, etc. etc. Now I admit, I almost cried when I saw the little "at home" video with the parents, BUT that didn't make me vote for him. I think he was in the competition longer than he should have been because of his background.

Unfortunately, I think the same thing is happening this year. I DON'T GET the Scott and Anthony thing. I know that Scott's dad ridiculed him and he's has a kid and he's proving people wrong, etc. That's fine, but don't vote for him because of it!!! And Anthony with the treach and the moving to America thing?!?! His story is WAY better than the other two. Again, not a reason to vote for him.

I'm not saying that everyone does this (because I know there are people who truly enjoy their voices), but you know as well as I do that there are people and fan bases who vote because of the personal stories. Do you think this may be why they eliminated the little video bios of the contestants? I know Simon used to throw a fit over people voting for the wrong reasons, so maybe they saw eliminating those as a way to eliminate the "popularity" vote... Who knows.

I was shocked last night too and now I'm really interested to see how this competition plays out from here. Hmmm....

I have liked Scott since the beginning. I voted for him long before hearing the sob stories. I couldn't care less about his or anyone elses background. I vote for the voice that I like. I could wonder why some thought Mikalea, Bo, or Jessica sang good. I thought they were horrible. I do think Carrie is going to be the winner but my vote goes to Scott. I was talking to a bunch of moms at the playground yesterday and they all had Scott up there in their top 3. These women ranged in age from may 25 to 40. My 22 y/o DD votes only for Scott. I can't be the only one that feels this way because Scott has yet to be in the bottom 3 yet some of the ones being raved about here are on the bottom. So Scott is well liked among many. He might not be the next Idol but he is doing a great job.

I respecfully and totally AGREE. Fantasia is horrible and if I hear her on the radio, I quickly change it! I like Ruben a little bit more then her but don't like him either.

I love Kelly and Clay though and own their CDs.

Go Carrie!

I can't stand Kelly or Clay. Thankfully they are never on the popular stations here.

I'm going to jump on a limb here, but does anyone else find Carrie a little boring. I mean, she sings good, she looks great, but she's a little "cookie-cutter" to me. Like just another good looking girl singer.

I think she's going to win because of those very reasons, but I won't be running out to buy her CD. I'd like to see someone more unique win. Pretty much any of the others would fit that bill.

I .

Like I said on the recap of Tuesday..

See Carrie sing. See Carrie sing country. See Carrie smile on cue. Boring little robot.

I wonder if she has seen Stepford wives! She doesnt do a thing for me.

I was really suprised that Jessica was the one to leave! She really has a good voice! I'm starting to think that it is turning into a popularity contest again.

:)

I think it has to be a popularity contest. If a person sings really well but nobody can stand them, then record sales will be awful. Being a star involves more than just singing well.

Yes, but Jessica didn't seem to have an annoying personality or anything? She seemed really sweet! When you listen to the CD you can't really see the person.

When Scott sings, I close my eyes. I just like to process his music better that way! I do really like him, though! :flower:

Jessica can sing! Remember the shock and horror last season when Jennifer Hudson was voted off? I think Jessica had a way better voice than her! Oh well.

Some Idols are getting on my nerves. I loved Anwar in the beginning, but lately I've found him dull. Always has the same smile on his face too.

I don't "get" Scott. I think he is off-key somewhere in every performance.

Constantine is very aware of the camera and that bothers me. Seems rather fake.

I can never understand Nikko. Why is he back? How is he never in the bottom?

OK, I'm really not a negative person. LOL:) Idol just turns me into a crazy critic!

All I can say is how on earth did Anthony and Scott escape the bottom three??? Just does NOT make any sense to me at all.

Even though I thought Jessica was talented, I thought her performance this week was NOT one of her best but was surprised that she was the one to go, I thought she'd be around for a little while longer.

You just never know.

I recently saw that Fantasia has a new album out and it was in the top list. I don't care for her either, not because she doesn't have talent but because I don't care for her style. I think that saying someone can't sing just because of their style is a little harsh.

As for past AI contestants, another that is doing well is Josh Gracin. I was one of the few here that kept on supporting him and now he's doing well in country music which pleases me to no end.

I think Carrie will win, but I agree she can be a little boring. I also think Bo has a good chance, because the judges love him and he has a different image than past winners. I would like to see someone with a different style win this time. All of the other winners were kind of boring to me. JMHO

Thank you, I'm glad someone agrees with me on this! I know there must be people voting for Scott based on his sob story, because he's definitely not that good to be escaping the bottom 3 every week. But people don't need to feel sorry for him anymore, because it looked to me like he had family supporting him in the audience this week. Obviously he knows how to trick people with his sob story because it worked.

All this talk about talent and creepy...Anthony has no talent and I find HIM creepy. There's no way he should still be in this competition. Jessica shouldn't be gone yet. And yes, I noticed that Carrie didn't seem too upset.

You may not think Anthony has talent, but how on Earth can you find him creepy lol! He looks like a cute innocent little boy.

You're the one that's kidding right? She is definitely, by far, the worst Idol contestant they've ever had. I would rather sit locked up in a room listening to Nikko or Scott for 24 hours and I think they're horrible. At least they don't screech when they sing. Listening to them is bad, but listening to Fantasia made my ears hurt, and have the feeling that someone just scraped their nails against a chalkboard.

I personally am happy that it was Jessica to go. I didn't like her very much...Too...hmm...sugary. She reminds me of 75% of the other Female stars out there. For me to really think someone deserves it they have to be totally different for me, however I do wish her well in her future and hope she makes it out there, this is just the beginning for her, just like for many other contestants it turns into simple exposure.

Fantasia Deserved it 100% BUT I don't listen to her music.

I dislike Clay and Kelly....

I like Bo a lot this year and For some reason I am drawn to Scott. I would like to see him do well but don't think it will necessarily be because he is this year's winner.

Do you have his newest CD. I think I'm going to have get it, that Rodney Crowell song he covers is so beautiful and romantic it gives me the chills. Just wondering about the other songs?

sorry to be OT, just had to ask, lol!

I can't put my finger on it, but he just creeps me out. Definitely NOT my cup of tea.

That's how I feel about Constantine.

And for the record: I don't vote for Scott because of his sob story. I happen to like his voice.
