Official American Idol Season 4 Thread

Except for a few spots I thought tonight was rather boring for 60's songs. I also wish they would sing Neil Sadaka's version of Breakin Up Is Hard To Do instead of the ballad that was done later. I like the more upbeat version better.

My favorites tonight: Nadia, Bo, Scott, Jessica and Carrie

Bottom: Mikayla, Lindsey, Nikko,

the others are middle of the road for me: Anwar (even though he does look so fine!) Anthony (cause he sang the slow version) Vonzell (love the song but it just missed for me) Constantine (cause I really like that song and just don't like him for some reason)

I also noticed that there was no one from Scott's family in the audience (like someone else mentioned), they showed 2 people but didn't say "Scott's family and friends" like they did for all the others. I feel so sorry for him, not having the support there.

Carrie can't hit a note dead on... she slides into them, like she isn't sure that she is going to hit them right. If that is country singing, well, then I guess I don't like it. She needs to go home..... right after Lindsey and Mikalah.

I rewatched the show and after hearing Anwar again, I thought he did an amazing job. You don't have to power sing everything.... sometimes it is nice to hear someone sing something mellow, who can really do it justice.

Bo does the SAME performance week after week after week. It is going to be really interesting when they get into a genre that doesn't have a classic rock influence. I am much more impressed with Constantine at this stage in the game. He has an awesome singing voice, when he isn't singing full out rock.

But tonight it was Bo. Wow that was good. So was Nadia.

The rest were boring or blah.

I love Bo, Nadia and Carrie. Jessica, too. The rest don't move me much. Scott was very good tonight, glad to hear it. Also think Mikayla and Lindsey have to go. I think Lindsey is such a pretty girl and can sing certain songs, but has not brought it to the table in the last few weeks

Oh, and what about Mario! He was great! So sorry he dropped out. I would have voted for him for sure.

mikayla...what to do with her? i liked her in the early episodes...thought she had a cute voice and spark but i did not even understand most of the words of the song tonight....i think she may go...

constantine is so hot! when he looks into the camera and pushes his hair behind his ear....last week i had to replay the song he sang a couple times just for the looks

i thought nikko did a good job for such short notice...i do not think he will go.

who is lindsey again? i am just so glad that Janae is gone...she should have been gone the first week....

i like carrie but tonight was not a good performance tonight...

scott has the same "moves" for every song he sings...good voice but does nothing for me...

overall the night was a dud...hope the theme is better next week...where did you find out what the theme was going to be?

Ooo, I noticed that too. He is so hot.

I have to agree about the night. Most of it was horrible. I don't know how they can say that this is the best year so far. It just isn't.

Jessica-- Okay, I actually thought she was really good tonight. I thought her song choice was a good one for her voice.
Anwar-- Well, the song was just boring. But I do think he will be around a while and that if he would sing something more upbeat I might actually like him. The last few weeks have been too slow for me or something.
Mikalah-- Okay, PLEASE make her go home already!
Constantine-- Maybe it's just me, but I just don't like him. I know everyone is saying how great he was tonight but he sounded like he always does to me. I just don't like his voice, I guess.
Lindsay-- Another one who has a voice I just don't like.
Anthony-- Like his voice, but agree he should have done the original version of the song.
Nadia-- What can I say? I love her and she knows how to entertain.
Bo-- Not my favorite song, but he did it really well and I find something about his voice to be sexy.
Vonzell-- This wasn't her best performance to me, but I still think she has a great voice and could do more with it.
Scott-- I love him and thought he did a good job, but agree with whoever said he didn't show much energy. I told DH that he needed to show some emotion while up there and then people might like him more.
Carrie-- Fabulous voice, wasn't crazy about her song choice. I did think she nailed that last note though.
Nikko-- So glad Nikko is back! He did a great job and I don't think he has to worry about going home tonight!

Who should go home tonight: Mikalah
Who will probably go home: Lindsay

Dh thinks Lindsay is gone also.

Well, I didn't make it home in time to watch the show (had to tape it), so I couldn't vote. But if I had been able to it would have been for the following:

Anwar Robinson, sure Tamara from season one blew him out of the water with her version. But there at the end, he showed that he can hold his own. He just needs to find the right song to really show himself off better.

Constantine, now I have not been to impressed with him so far. But tonight he showed why he should be there. He really earned a right to be there next week.

Nadia Turner, this girl can sing! I was hoping that she would have done somthing by Tina Turner, but I was still quite happy with her tonight. She is one that I think should go far.

BO - Need I say more! He rocks! "Spinning Wheel" is not one of my favs, but I still enjoyed the performance and the voice.

Vonzell Soloman - She looked and sounded great! When they said what song she was singing I was a little worried. But she pulled it off. And should come back!

Scott Savol, now I don't understand why Simon was worried about how he would do tonight. It seems that R&B is all that he has really been siging. Now as the weeks go by I can see him really start to struggle.

Carry Underwood, I don't think she did as bad as the judges seem to think she did. Maybe when they hear it back they will have second thoughts. But I do agree it wasn't one of her best perfomances.

I wasn't to impressed with:
Jessica Sierra, she can sing, but she's lifeless.

Lindey Cardinale, can't really remeber her perfomance. Almost forgot to wright something about her.

Anthony Fedorov, can this guy sing anything else, or can he only sing ballads? If he doesn't change things up soon, he will be gone.

Nikko Smith, just one sour note after another. And what was up with the pants!?

But the worst of the night had to be Makalah.... WHY IS SHE STILL THERE!? Did any one understand a word she sang?? And some one seems to have told her that they were trying out for the local nudy bar....bright pink bra with an almost see through shirt? And pants so tight she was lucky they didn't split when she went to sit down next to Ryan. SHE HAS GOT TO GO HOME!

Here's my take on the Final 12.

Jessica: An OK performance but not her best. She has a great voice but like many of the others, just seemed a bit uncomfortable on the new stage. Score: 3.5

Anwar: He always seems to take a song and present it somewhat strangely. Having said that, I think it was his best performance so far. Score: 4

Mikalah: Dusty Springfield must be rolling over in her grave. Out of tune and no sense of timing... Dreadful performance. Take her away! Score: 2

Constantine: I'm not a big fan of this guy but he picked the perfect song for his talents last night. Score: 4.5

Lindsey: Can we say Mute Button boys and girls. Why is she still on this show? Score 1.5 and you get a 1 for showing up!

Anthony: While I usually agree with the judges, not this time. I really enjoyed his rendition of this song. He got a tiny bit pitchy in spots but for the most part did a nice job. Score: 3.5

Nadia: WOW WOW WOW!!! Amazing in every respect. This girl is a performer. Score: 5+++

Bo: Another consistent week for Bo. Great presentation, awesome command of the stage. He looks like he's been doing this his whole life. And another perfect song choice. Score: 5

Vonzell: She delivered this week and delievered well. Score: 4

Scott: Well every week I've said I still don't think we've seen Scott do the best he could do. Now that the finals are here, he really needs to go for it. His voice is wonderful but I found his stage presence lack luster. Score: 3

Carrie: Umm, that wasn't the way the Everly Brothers sang that song, more like the Linda Ronstadt version. Not well done and she has the ability to really sing. I was disappointed. Score: 3

Nikko: Not bad for someone who got called back but not great either. He seemed to have consistent pitch problems. Score: 2.5

Who I want to be gone: Lindsey or Mikalah
