I really, really LOVE Bo. I think he blows everyone else away so far. He could have problems with some of the music styles but country should be OK because he could do country rock ala Allman Brothers.

I do wish that a rocker would win this one. I'm so sick of fluffly pop.

Well here's my take on the guys:

Mario: He had a great voice but the song didn't do a thing for me. Good stage presence. Score: 3

Anwar: One of my biggest disappointments. Each week he seems to get worse. This is two weeks in a row his voice has been so low at the beginning of the song you could barely hear it. Score: 3

Joe: Wow, didn't they jump all over him because of his song choice. The bottom line is this guy can really sing. Probably not AI material though... not enough charisma. Score: 4

David Brown: How on earth did he ever get this far in the competition?? Score: 2

Constantine: What an ego but not much of a voice. He's a boy toy for all the teeny boppers out there and I think his 15 minutes of fame may be coming to an end. Score: 3

Scott: He still hasn't shown us what he can really do. He seemed more animated tonight and not as scary for those who found him to be that way. I think he's got a lot of promise. Score: 3.5

Travis: Now that was a surprise. I was ready to start my "Vote him off" chant and he came out and gave it his all. Not a great voice but, IMHO, the best looking guy there. Score: 3

Nikko: One of the best. Wonderful voice with great stage presence. Score: 4

Anthony: The biggest disappointment for me. Every week he seems to sink a bit. His song and presence on the stage left me cold. As cute as he is, it may not be enough. Score: 2

All together now

BO!!!!!

Our number one pick for both my DH and I... and we're old! :rotfl: Rock on, rock on, rock on!! He just had everything in perfect working order last night and those last couple of notes in that song gave me goose bumps. For the second week in a row, Bo's my number one choice. Score: 5.

Who I'd like to see gone:
David and Constantine

Who I think will be gone:
David and Joe.

Bring on the ladies!!! :teeth:

Roberta

Wow, that was a great link about Bo. It was neat to see his background. I thikn it shows how hard he has worked towards this goal and I would love to see him win!!!

Constantine got a lot of face time in the auditions and I was looking forward to him, but after last week Bo became my favorite among the guys. I even said to DW Lauri that I'd like to hear him do a southern rock song. I was definitely pleasantly surprised to hear him do an Allman Brothers song, and Bo did not disappoint. It would be very cool to see a rocker take it this year.

:::putting on her flame resistant suit:::: I just don't get the fascination with Anwar. :confused3 He's good.. but everyone on there is good or they wouldn't be there. His performances to me are safe.. easy songs to sing.. and not really anything memorable. His rendition of Moon River last week was horrible to me.

Travis.. better than last week but he was flat in areas. I think it might have been from all the moving while singing. It's hard to do stuff like that and carry a solid tune. Good stage presence though.

Anthony - so glad that if he had to do a slow song that he did one with some vocal challenge to it. That song isn't easy to sing and while he was shaky in the beginning he nailed it by the end. Good for him. :)

Constantine - I like him. My take on him is he is trying TOO hard to do difficult songs. You have some guys over here doing Stevie Wonder until you want to gag and then on the other end of the spectrum, Constantine doing songs so challenging that it would be a miracle if he could nail it with a weeks practice time. I love the song he sang but like I said.. he tried TOO hard to make it his own. He needs to stick with that type of music, but not something so vocally challenging when he has such a short time to prepare and practice. You gotta give the guy props for not stumbling on those lyrics though.. there were people out there that couldn't get stuff right in songs that repeated the same 4 lines over and over again! :rotfl: Hopefully he will go further and play it a smidge safer next week.

BO! MAN that guy can sing! Perfect type of song for him. Perfect pitch through the whole thing. Nailed a song with just the right amount of difficulty to make you go WOW. Constantine needs to learn from Bo. Bo's got the better voice/Constantine had the better stage presense... Bo is on the move with his stage presence and is now hands down over Constantine in both areas!

The rest of the guys.. I barely remember.

I loved Marion, Bo, Anthony and Scott.

My biggest disappointment was Constantine. But I do agree that he will stay this week. But if next week is not good.....

Who I think will get voted off: Joe and David or Travis.

I agree, these guys are 10x better then last years guys. I wonder how this happens???

You may not like him (Anwar), but by your own statement, he was memorable! ;)

Personally, I loved the Bo performance (as it appears most others did too). He rocked!

Anthony got off to a shaky start, but pulled it out in the end.

What can I say, I just  Anwar. . .he's got a dreamy personna and voice. Now, when it gets down to the wire will I vote for him over someone else--remains to be seen--if last night was any indication--probably not. Who knows, maybe he will bring it in the end as well--if not, he'll fall by the wayside in favor of the better "performers". I hope he gets to stick around for a bit longer though--I think he has something.

Scott--love his voice but I have to close my eyes.

Constantine. . .hmmm. . .I like him but I'm not sure why--he's certainly not the "best" vocally, but there's something about him I enjoy (and no, I don't find him attractive). ;)

The rest of the group--enjoyed the performances, but they didn't send me over the top or make me want to vote for them.

My guess for Wednesday: Joe & David--gone. . .we'll see.

Does anyone else feel that Mario, while a nice performer with decent voice, is a bit arrogant? I'm not sure why, but I just don't care for him. . . ?

Anthony-- YUCK! Boring, boring, boring.. and his stance.. can you say dead?

I hate Allman Brothers, but Bo did a good job. Made the song almost likeable.

Constantine-- didn't Simon comment that every bar has a singer like him? I agree.

I didn't see Anwar. I did catch the end when they recapped. Did he sing a Marvin Gaye song?

I thought they were all terrific last night, with the exception of Constantine, who should be acting, not singing -- he is soooooo good looking and really plays well to the camera, but not that great of a singer. David was also a little weak, and I think he'll be the one to be voted off, since Constantine will coast on his looks at least for one more round.

At the top of the heap I see Bo, Anwar, Anthony and Nikko. The other two spots I'm not sure of. Probably Mario, since he seems to have the whole package, even though his style doesn't really appeal to me personally. And lastly, I'd like to see Scott get through to the final 6, I think he's hugely talented, and even though he's odd looking, his look is growing on me. I'm pulling for him as the underdog, and I bet a lot of America feels the same way. I also love Travis, who is such a nice looking guy, plus he's the hometown boy for me.

Honestly, all of the guys have been terrific in the competiton thus far. I wish it wasn't girls against boys, because I'd get rid of all of the girls minus Carrie and keep most of the guys if I could.

I did notice that Scott now wears those tinted glasses to keep away from the "serial killer" look. Scott does sing well, but I don't think well enough to be an American Idol.

Of course I love love love Anwar. I didn't catch him singing yesterday, but I did Tivo it.

Constantine does know how to address the stage. He was really *LOVING* the camera.

Bo- Wow, is he channeling some of the long past rockers who have faded into oblivion? Gone but not forgotten. I was so impressed with him! He is so hot!

Scott - He looks a lot less serial killeresque. He really needed the image change! :cool1: Love his voice!

Anwar, Nikko, and Travis! Way to go! :flower:

My favorites were Mario, David, Scott, Anthony and Bo.

I think that David has a great voice, just hasn't picked the right songs to showcase it. I hope that he makes it to the next round.

Do you think Simon's critiques are nicer because the talent's better this year?

I'm a big fan of Bo's, too! But do wonder what's gonna happen when he can't pick a 70s rock song.

Constantine doesn't do it for me...too arrogant.

I like Anwar a lot, but last night thought he was just ok.

I liked David Brown in the auditions, but he hasn't done well the past two weeks.

I agree with what Simon said about Travis...he didn't sing that well last night, but he certainly can perform.

I'd like to hear Scott sing Mustang Sally...did anyone see The Commitments? Scott kinda reminds me of the lead singer from the movie.

I liked Mario and Nikko, too.

Joseph was probably my least favorite last night...too 'lounge-lizard'.

I'm looking forward to Nadia and Vonzell tonight...and hoping Mikalah doesn't stay much longer!

They are ALL great singers, but one the one who stands out to me is Bo. He ROCKS! I love him! The thing about him is that I can see him having a music career outside of AI. The pop and R & B thing has been done so much, it's refreshing to see someone break out of that mold for a change.

I hope when they get down to the final 12 they do less guest judge's nights. I just can't see some of these guys singing Gloria Estavan or Barry Mannilow. I like it when they stick to a decade. It gives them a chance to find a song that really works for them.

Wow, it's amazing how different people can see someone so differently! I was just telling my husband last night how modest and humble he was. The judges gave him a really high compliment (that he really didn't need their advice), and instead of just shrugging it off he said something like "I still want it, though. You guys know what your doing". To me the arrogant one by a long shot is Constantine! :confused3

And to me, Constantine isn't arrogant at all. Instead I see him as a strange mix of confident and self-conscious. He knows he has talent, but he doesn't know if he's good enough. Watch him when they're booting people off, throughout it all you can see the fear.

On the other hand, I don't like Bo at all. I admit he's good, but neither his voice nor his appearance does anything for me.

Just wondering but has anyone visited Constantine's web site? They have examples of their songs on it. If you like that kind of music, he really is very good. He's just not exactly meant for pop rock. I agree that he's trying to hard. He's still my favorite. There's something very interesting about him. Very charismatic. He doesn't need to have the best voice in the world so long as its actually good. I mean, look at people like Kim Carnes and the like. Not so great voice but there's something about them that you like anyway.
