While I do like having the guest judge there, it's throwing off the voting.

Take the last set of twins for instance: Randy said Yes, Paula said Yes, both Gene and Simon said No. If Gene hadn't been there, the twins would have been through to Hollywood.

I also thought they actually sounded very good for what they were singing.

On the whole problem of putting twins/triplets through: I think they should let them audition as a group, but also make them sing individually. Yes it is a solo singing competition, but part of singing is how well you can sing with your group/band/backup. BUT, if you're part of a group and you can't sing at all individually, you're just not going to make it.

The problem, IMHO, with the triplets was that they sounded "okay" as a group but I don't think any of them had the voice to carry it of as a solo. They should have had them sing separately just to see though.

I REALLY wanted the last set of twins to get through - they were from the small town in New York that I was born and raised in - New Windsor!!!

I saw where one of those twins is back tonight in Las Vegas trying again, I hope he makes it this time.

RE: THE LAST SET OF TWINS:

I agree, they were very good and should have made it. They had the voices AND the look and definitely would make all the young girls hearts go pitter patter. But how STUPID were they for giving the judges that attitude when they didn't make it? Haven't they watched AI before, and know that sometimes people get called back? And out of the audition room with the bad language that had to be bleeped every two seconds? I think they may have had a chance for a comeback but they ruined it! I really hope they DON'T make it after that!

I found Leroy funny for about a minute, then he just became annoying. They let him run on way too long.

Ok--he's 44...but I still think he's lying!

How about that 16yo girl in the beginning....I think she'll go through the next round (semi-finals) after Hollywood.

my cable is out, so im missing the whole thing...argh
Im glad my twin got through ;)

I cannot believe that he actually thought anyone would buy that line!!!

i remember someone asked about wil garrity earlier, the guy who the show says season 4 is dedicated to. don't know if anyone answered the question yet, but here's what the website says:

American Idol Season 4
Is Dedicated To
The Loving Memory of
WIL GARRITY
(1965-2004)

Wil Garrity was a production assistant and much-loved member of the American Idol family and was with us for Seasons 2, 3, and 4. His tireless enthusiasm and dedication to the show made him a popular colleague, but his openness and razor sharp sense of humor made him a true friend. Whether he was looking after the judges, supporting the producers, or taking care of the contestants, he threw himself into the job with a smile, even when he was feeling low. He worked to ensure that every contestant was well taken care of and arrived safely to the Hollywood auditions. He was meticulous with detail, down to the pink straw that Paula uses. Wil will be missed by all of us.

:sad1:

I have watched last night's AI almost 3 times. We have TiVo and I saw it, then DH had to watch it and tonight DD had to watch it. I swear everytime LeRoy told Simon to "Get Jesus in Your Life", it sounded like get Cheeseburgers...could't understand the rest. Cracked me up every time!

Liked the Show Girl with the pretty long hair tonight.... thought she had an interesting voice. Liked Michael last night.

The weirdest one to me was last night... the guy with the black hair, kind of long on one side in the front and the goatee who sang the Delilah by Tom Jones, and then You Cast a Spell on Me. That was just TOO much. Especially when Simon told him he could see him in a cabaret in red panties and lipstick. :rotfl2:

Leroy was certainly - uh, er, umm :tilt: entertaining. My first thought was that he was high on something, but might have just been high on life. Wonder if he goes through every day like that? I would be exhausted!

I agree with the poster that thought Leroy was high. Dh and I kept saying, "Oh, yeah, he is definitely high!" last night. If he wasn't then he sure didn't present himself well, although he was entertaining for those of us watching at home!

As for tonight, I thought the showgirl was really good. Glad one of the twins got through, although I liked his brother's voice better last night and thought they both should have gotten through. What could it have hurt anyway? If they aren't good enough, then they can cut them in the next round. At least give them a chance. Oh, well, at least one of the brothers is getting a shot. I bet if Kenny Loggins had been the judge last night instead of Gene Simmons he would have let both of them through.

American Idol hopeful Leroy Wells watches his performance from the lockup

(MOBILE, Ala.) January 26 -- An American Idol hopeful, gaining notoriety, but not just for his shot at stardom. T-V viewers found Grand Bay's Leroy Wells on national T-V Tuesday night. However, on Wednesday, the would-be “idol” could be found in Mobile Metro Jail.

While millions of American Idol fans kept it locked into Leroy, Leroy was locked up behind bars for failing to appear in court.

The 22-year-old Grand Bay, Alabama native wowed fans with his rendition of "Got Your Money" by O-D-B. Even though he wasn't able to watch his performance from home, sheriff’s deputies tell NBC 15 they did allow Leroy and other inmates to watch American Idol from jail.

Mobile Police spokesman Marcus Young says Leroy Wells was arrested earlier this month for reportedly shooting a hand gun into an occupied vehicle. “Apparently they were arguing over how the cars were in the roadway at which time Mr. Wells allegedly shot the victim in his hip,” Young says.

“Family members say because Leroy is a “pretty boy,” he gets picked on a lot, which explains why he may have been carrying a pistol to protect himself. His brother, Ryan Peyton tells NBC 15 News: “A lot of people picks on him and he's had that problem since he's been a kid. As he got older he just got tired of it and so he took measures into his own hands.”

According to Mobile County Sheriff's department records, Wells has a prior criminal record including seven other arrests. The charges range from disorderly conduct and possession of marijuana, to carrying a pistol without a permit.

His brother says despite those incidents, Leroy is destined for stardom and would not go as far as shooting another human being. “I'm saying he didn't do it. It's all hear-say from what I know.”

Wednesday, Leroy’s family had trouble coming up with bond money, some $11,000, but later were able to come up with the money. Leroy was released from custody early Wednesday evening.

:cool1: Cleveland auditions next Tuesday look like they will be VERY interesting!!!

I didn't like anyone on tonights episode. Most of them were boring even if they had nice voices. No wonder the judges are getting shorter tempers. I would be too.

I agree, I can't wait!

I'm not surprised Leroy watched his performance from jail, he wasn't "all there" at all.

As for the twins on Tuesday night, I think that was the stupidest thing making them be judged individually. Simon knew he was going to say no so why even bother. Like Paula (I think it was her) said, he was just doing it for the sport of it. :sad2:

Now about last night. I thought the guy who sang "Thriller" was hillarious. And how about the guy who sang "I Just Can't Wait to be King"? That was great. :rotfl2: Was it the psychic who sang "Can't Help Falling in Love with You"? That was actually painful to listen to. :headache: And finally, I thought the lady who sang "If I Ain't Got You" (the one they said had an "image problem") was really good. I hope she makes it far.:goodvibes

Actually she sang Can't Help Falling in Love Witchu

:)

My 16 month old DS actually got a weird look on his face and turned off the TV during her "performance" :teeth:
