Sunday night there was a large group inside the queue split at Ghostbusters arguing w the team member who checks the express pass. Apparently their
DAS pass wasn’t signed. A person who had express flashed their ticket to get pass , but team member stopped the rest of the express pass from going through. Eventually we were let in the line. I don’t really understand the need to check for express when you get in the line since they are going to scan the ticket later in the line.
Yeah - this was really annoying - I went for 10 nights - for the most part they don't even look at it - its just a requirement of their job.
That said - I print mine out and fold it up so I can put it in a lanyard since they don't give us real tickets anymore. One guy wanted me to take it out so he could see the entire thing. I just brought it up on my phone and asked him why he was the only one doing that - he said - that is what they told him to do - and this is just to enter the line.
I had another that did not see the word express - so same thing - so if you print it out make sure they can see that it is express - I refolded mine and that worked fine for the handful of folks that actually looked at it.
Doing one of the houses that opens at 515 pm helps. You can knock a couple of the soundstage houses out and move over to tents ones. I noticed that when I was at Goblins/Monsters the soundstages had high wait times with people who were waiting outside pouring in to them while tent were pretty low waits at that time.
So just to touch on this - yeah you can knock out a couple of houses - but they tend to be very understaffed - especially the ones in the back. To the point it was annoying. There were scenes in SS2 where there were no SAs at all sone nights.
So keep that in mind and if you have express I would not waste it early - a lot of people do - if the wait if 5 minutes I don't see why you would use your express unless you are 100% sure you wont be back.
Insidious had very few bad walkthroughs - much to do with the design of it and the staffing. That said it can be an hour wait without express when it opens at 5:15 - people start lining up very early - but they are also waiting over an hour just to get in the line.
So personally I don't see a ton of value in stay and scream anymore. Many of the SAs done even start till later (you overhear them talking in line) and some show up late.
Wednesdays and Sundays seem to be the worst as I don't think they bring everyone in.
In general I had much better walkthrough later in the evening.
On a different topic - the Horror and Makeup show - not sure what is going on there - seems like they were doing a lot of testing of changes last week - I do the show at least once a day and all of a sudden last Friday they cut the show short - so no Eddie. I did it a couple of times over the weekend and more than once they cut out Eddie and the kid stuff. Also mixed in some new stuff.
Anyway - lots of folks looking at each other saying what happened - lots of confusion. Considering it was pretty full theater not sure why they would cut it then.
Other than that the show is good and they do a great job - they are very believable although they have done the same jokes 100s of times - just hope they don't cut out Eddie and that stuff.
