Ok, thanks
I was thinking that they would start with the preferred buildings first to entice people to book higher rate rooms. But i guess they know what they're doing.
I think they started in the least desirable rooms to entice people to request them.

I notice the Polynesian wasn't included in the summer RO discounts, do you think they will offer the FD?

Well... I've been looking at Port Orleans Riverside for quite some time. But, this new rumor may mess some things up. My dates are 8/26-9/2. I'm now considering POP Or Coronado. Is it worth the extra money to upgrade to a moderate even though the dining plans (may) be same?

It really depends on what you are looking for in a resort. If you will only really be sleeping there and can live with full size beds, then save the money and go with a value. If you will be spending more time at the resort, want queen beds, pool slides, and hot tubs then I think it's worth it to go with a mod. Not having a hot tub is an automatic deal breaker for me and why I won't do a value.

A few things to keep in mind though: it is very possible that POR will be included for your dates but excluded for the later months, so don't give up hope yet.
Second, Pop may be difficult to get. It seems like a lot of people on here are considering it and it does tend to book up faster than the other values. They may also be down some room inventory from the renovations they are doing (not sure when that will be complete).
Third, Coronado is also down some inventory from their construction and the construction itself is something to keep in mind when considering the resort.
Lastly, try to have as many backups as possible just in case your top choice or two or three don't work out. You could get a standard room at WL for $313, a standard at AKL for $329, or a studio at OKW or SSR for $330 for your dates and since all of those are deluxe, it would be TS DDP. That might not be much more than what you'd pay with upgrading the DDP at a mod, depending on your party size. Just something to think about. Good luck!

Yeah, she says that she can't start to put in deals until 6am. I never know what they say is true or not due to being so new to this.

I would book another but its more expensive, and we have the CBR GC offer with our stay as well so even if I made a new one it would not be of this caliber.

Meep. I'm so lost right now in what to do until it happens.

If your CBR is booked through a TA then you'll just have to wait on her. Good news not much availability at that resort so maybe your TA will have a pretty good shot at 6.

Do you know what your plan B is? What would you do if your TA calls and says they couldn't get it? If you will stay at CBR anyway then just leave it in her hands. If you have a plan B, like a value with FD, then I would book that and once you find it what TA has done you can decide.

Called Disney tonight to ask a few technical questions about modifying a reservation and mentioned I was hearing rumours about free dining dropping next week. She played along and said there were lots of goodies and freebies to be announced soon so it was good I was being proactive with my questions... Who knows if she really knew anything, but I took it as a good sign...

My TA is well aware of my deep desire for FD. I booked CBR for Sept b4 the construction announcement, and TA called and got upgraded for free to AoA suite. GS said they may allow FD to be added to that reservation, but they aren't sure yet. Of course that would be the ideal situation, but if that isn't allowed I'd like to score free dining some how, at a moderate if we actually get DDP this year, or at a value or moderate if we only get QS. I'll let me TA know this, but I'll also be ready on my Wife's account to try to book something myself online. WHen booking a new reservation online, I assume there will be a FD promotion button you click where it will only show available rooms that are part of the promotion for our dates?

As long as there are available free dining suites at AOA for your dates and everything else works (number of nights, tickets, etc) then you should be able to add free dining. I was switched from CBR to SSR and assured that I could apply free dining if it came out. I've already applied the Summer package discount with no issues (discount taken off of original CBR price that was transferred over). Free dining should work the same as this promo and there shouldn't be issues adding it just because of being switched from CBR.

I'm not exactly sure how it will look online when making a new reservation, but if you go to the Disney site and click on special offers, then on the free dining link once it's released, you should be able to input your dates. Not sure if it then just lists the available resorts or if you have to pick what resort you want it on search for. Maybe someone else can chime in on that?

I never have plans. But with Disney it seems I do.

I may just stay at CBR with the GC and a room discount if I cannot get FD.

If I decide to not do that then possibly I will move to a value, get FD, and upgrade to DDP. We have so many table services booked already, I NEED THEM. It will also sweeten the... ring deal... if it happens. :P

I'm hoping to celebrate a pretty new engagement ring at Le Cellier's.

Which resorts are walking distance? Do you mean to MK or DS?

I was talking about Disneyland not WDW. At Disneyland there are a ton of off site hotels within 3-5 minutes walk from the security check point that are only about 150-250 a night when the Disneyland Hotel is more like 500 a night. On our last trip we got a great deal at a value hotel directly across the street from DL that was only 95 a night. but now a days we go so often that I would rather save money and go for quantity than spend a lot more for a short trip or less trips.

We are booked at POR but based on rumors FD not being included, we are considering upgrading to AKL, my question if anyone knows- are standard room normally included in FD for deluxe resorts? Or have they been in past year?

I'm no deluxe expert but I'm pretty sure if available they are included.

Great question I might do this too if I can't get a moderate.

I forgot to mention. She can eat off your plate or you can order her a child's meal. But at 11 months it will probably too much food. We took our foster son when he was 10 months old in 2015. We are going back this year and hopefully celebrating adoption!

We foster too. Just wanted to say Hi to a fellow foster parent! Good luck with the adoption!
