This is so... poo. :P Hopefully she will be able to get in early enough for me to get the FD once it drops. If it didn't drop at 4am I would be able to get in a phone call right when it dropped but until 7am, I can't do anything. I think it just depends then on when the TA gets up to see if they can get the FD when it does drop. I don't think mine is willing to be up at 4am for me.

Be sure to let her know you want FD. Then ask her if she has been able to get FD for others in the past. She may already have a plan in place.

Well... I've been looking at Port Orleans Riverside for quite some time. But, this new rumor may mess some things up. My dates are 8/26-9/2. I'm now considering POP Or Coronado. Is it worth the extra money to upgrade to a moderate even though the dining plans (may) be same?

We've been talking every week, she knows that FD is where I want to be! She said that she would be able to start booking these deals at 6am. Which now I'm hearing that she could do it earlier since she controls my account?

Yeah, she says that she can't start to put in deals until 6am. I never know what they say is true or not due to being so new to this.

I would book another but its more expensive, and we have the CBR GC offer with our stay as well so even if I made a new one it would not be of this caliber.

Meep. I'm so lost right now in what to do until it happens.

That does sound like a no-win situation. You could make a new reservation and transfer it over to her, but then you would lose the GC. I have gone through a TA before, but that was before FD. Good luck. Maybe everything will work out. ( And you won't have to get up at 4:00 am.)

We are o

We are only going for 2 nights if there is a 4 night minimum stay and will only do 3 nights if that's the requirement for free dining. I think it is less than $300 for one more night including the upgrade to the DDP from QS.

The cost difference between a 2 night and 4 night stay is pushing the boundaries of my budget especially after a week at Universal not to mention my boss might not be too happy with me taking that much time off work. I wish I could do 4 nights but I got such a good rate at Cabana Bay and if I drop a night there I will lose it.

Oh well, we will have a blast whatever happens...we'll be in Orlando.

Totally agree there. Cabana Bay is nice. We stayed there within the first year it opened. I place it between a Disney value and a Disney moderate. Personally would find it hard to go to the Universal parks for more than 4 days. Perhaps 5 if going to Volcano Bay. Love the Harry Potter sections at Universal.

No one knows what time the deals will hit online. It could be 4 a.m., it could also be 6 a.m., it could be 7 a.m. It's not a set time.

Last year free dining was really important to me and saved me a bunch of money. I had a TA but I didn't really trust her so I stayed up all night and booked a new reservation in case she couldn't modify my old one.

This year I am currently booked at Pop with the one free QS meal and I paid to upgrade to the TS dining plan .I was still hoping for FD because I thought I would at least save several hundred. Now that I have crunched the numbers with new ticket prices, park hoppers and dining plan upgrade, FD would save me $50. $50! Bleh. I am wondering if I am missing a way to save more

I thought I knew the answer to this but not sure now Booked Nov 11-18, based on rumoured dates of fd being offered Nov 14 do I need to have a specific reservation for Nov 14-18 and create a second reservation for Nov 11-13? Or can I modify my Nov 11-18 reservation to include fd and pay for dining for the dates not included? TIA

About 6 years ago I made the same reservation I have right now (same resort, dining plan, #days). I'm paying twice as much. I love Disney, but I'm not sure I can keep up with the cost.

Last year the FD thread was closed. I haven't seen one yet (please let me know if there is one), but I thought about starting a thread later this week for those who want to continue planning their trips together once FD drops. Does that sound ok? We won't have to abandon this thread (unless it gets closed), but can continue to help others look for deals and plan our trips as well. :)

Great idea!

I don't think this site has to close at all. I think there is no limit like there was last year. Last year people stayed on this site for months afterward and when we got close to an end we started a support group, but I dont think that will be neeeded.

Last year the mods closed all the fd watch threads a day or two after fd dropped. That's why the new threads got started.

It is my understanding that you will need two reservations. When FD drops, make the 14-18 first, then use a RO discount to book Nov. 11-13.

We love Universal and could probably spend a month there during HHN it's so much fun. We enjoy the restaurants also...love Cowfish, Toothsome, Margaritaville and Mythos. We are also big Potter fans so it's all good:flower1:

Finally all caught up. I wasn't able to get on today had a busy day at work. My goodness busy day on the boards today. :stitch:

They're working in the 80's/90's sections right now. Rumours? Reports? Are that new rooms won't be available til the beginning of June.
Ok, thanks
I was thinking that they would start with the preferred buildings first to entice people to book higher rate rooms. But i guess they know what they're doing.

My TA is well aware of my deep desire for FD. I booked CBR for Sept b4 the construction announcement, and TA called and got upgraded for free to AoA suite. GS said they may allow FD to be added to that reservation, but they aren't sure yet. Of course that would be the ideal situation, but if that isn't allowed I'd like to score free dining some how, at a moderate if we actually get DDP this year, or at a value or moderate if we only get QS. I'll let me TA know this, but I'll also be ready on my Wife's account to try to book something myself online. WHen booking a new reservation online, I assume there will be a FD promotion button you click where it will only show available rooms that are part of the promotion for our dates?
