Can a TA change reservations via the computer or do they have to call in?

Mine is saying she cannot do anything until 6:30 am !!!!!!

I can't find Jackie O's original post so replying to a reply.

To determine if buying the DDP would be good for us I planned restaurants and then went through each menu. My daughters enjoy planning so we put on Disney music and made popcorn and have a fun night looking through all the menus. For my husband, who wouldn't want to pick 8 months in advance what he was eating, I just picked either the no brainer dish or just budgeted the high end for him. I didn't compare what we would get on the plan (drinks and desserts) I planned it like if we were getting what we wanted but eating normally which for us is water to drink and maybe 1-2 desserts for the TABLE to share if we liked them. For 10 days/ 9 nights it was $1750. That did not include any coffees, waters, or snacks while we are waking around. The DDP would be $2100. Considering all 4 of us will get at least 1 food snack a day and some waters or coffees I think at best the DDP puts us within $50. That is close enough just to get the DDP and everyone can order what they want and have the luxury of two snacks. If I were to figure the dining plan all the desserts, the special drinks you get at signatures, etc I know that I will spend more than the DDP costs. So win win. Still hoping for free dining though!!

Just remember when you are at narcoosses and they say sparkling water and after dinner coffee is included get them if you want them but you'll have to tip on the whole amount so if you don't really want or enjoy it politely decline.
This is what I'm talking about. Actual people who have actually lived it. I tried to do the math and came out with us probably spending $1800-$2,000 and the dining plan would be over $2,700. I would pay extra for the convenience of not having to think about it, but $700 is a lot!

Thanks for giving me a good idea of how you figured for your family. Maybe I should get out the menus and really see.

Going through the menus of where you want to eat and "ordering" really is the best way to get a genuine feel for what you'll spend. The dining calculators are okay, but nothing like good old fashioned number crunching. Don't forget to add the 6.5% sales tax, and if you're looking for buffet prices, find the sticky over on the main restaurant board that has them listed.

That would be great but I'd even settle for a royal room at por just get me free dining at either resort any room I'd be happy.
If your dates are included, I'd say the odds of a RR would be great. When I booked in 2014, RRs were the only ones available for my dates. Then, when I inquired about a BB for 2015 and 2016, again only RRs were available.

I used to at least get a few emails from Disney Destinations. Then I helped a friend plan her trip & ordered park maps sent to her house as a surprise for her kids. Then I got email offers...... in HER name! I called. I emailed. I begged but could not get her off. Finally, I was told they would just delete the account and I could set another up for myself. That was it, never got anything from them ever again :-/
I just received an email from Disney Destinations and was so excited until I saw it was a reminder to book my reservations. :(

I would never get it for a $700 difference. Just me thought plenty would. Within $200 yes.

I'm 12-21 of September so history says those dates should definitely be included.

This is a great point. I didn't add in the 6.5% on my calculations because I thought it would be on both sides so just not really a factor. But just realized yesterday that tax is included on DDP. So that adds $113 to my $1750 amount. So that is now $1864. Add even $250 for snacks and drinks and that is minimal for 10 days I would be at $2114. DDP is $2100 so yeah no brainer.

Oh sales tax. I hadn't thought of that!

There's a free dining update on Disneytouristblog. He seems to be betting on a double wave release with late summer dates first and then fall and winter released later. But he said it's mildly informed speculation.

I saw that too. I have no opinion except to be excited that there seems to be "informed speculation" and rumor floating around. Seems like a good sign to me.

I hope it means we're in the final stretch and all know what's going on soon.

I did the intense planning last year for determining if the dining plan would have worked for us as well. I was comparing it with the room only discount that is usually released around the same time. For us, staying a few days, already have bought park tickets earlier in the year (last minute cancellation) and being 2 adults, it was a higher cost saving for the room only discount.

However this year, there are 3 of us, staying a full week and my boyfriend is a bottomless pit when it comes to food. In fact, we want to upgrade to the DxDP.
Lol, I don't even want to calculate by menu item because we would be eating at a lot of TS locations that just those prices, and the streamlining of payment with the DP feels like a no brainer to us.

We aren't planning on going until December so it's rather hard to plan anything, so I have a tentative schedule of food lol

I got that same one on Monday and got really excited too until I realized what it was. I figure at least I'm in the system and receiving emails :)
