My inlaws are super go with the flow. They've done wdw with all of my husbands siblings and their families(he's the youngest of 7) so they have no preferences. Lol. They've done it all, and are really just going so they can be with us and my son on our first trip. They'll also keep our 2 year old quite a bit if we'd like, so we can go do adult rides and dates and such(I won the in-law lottery) I've asked them and they always reply something to the extend of "whatever you want." I do think we'll rent a car so that they can go places easily.

I would ask suggestions from the Inlaws on where they would want to stay. I would also suggest something close to Disney Springs. maybe something on that water way. I don't know if POR or POFQ will be offered at that time, but at least Disney Springs would give them something to do.

CBR was the resort I wanted originally. I know its late nov/early december, but I wanted a pool with zero entry for my 2 year old, in case we end up swimming. And I think(correct me if I'm wrong) its the only moderate with a zero entry. So then I looked at values, and we could do a family suite at AoA, but I'm not sure about the size of it. So then that brings us to deluxes, and the cheapest way for us to get in there is the kidani village 1 br, I guess I could do standard view, but to me it would be amazing for my son, and even for my inlaws, who may be hanging around the villa a bit more, to have that amazing view.
We've stayed at CBR the last 2 years because of the pool! My boys love the zero entry and pirate splash area. This year we're booked at WL with a BB but we love CBR!!!

Just an FYI, since it could affect peoples dates, there are rumors Splash Mountain will be down for refurbishment Aug 28-Nov 16 in preparation for the 50th anniversary! I'm bummed out, but I guess in the big scheme of things, its one of the rides I would be least upset about missing, because I have been on the one at Disneyland many many times.

That would really bum me out my favorite ride. Lots of memories for me with that ride loved the movie song of the south when I was kid. Also rode it four times without getting off the ride once at an old e-ticket night in 1999.

I'm booked at CBR room only. Hoping to be able to add fd to the booking.
Questions!
1. If I do get fd and have to buy the park tickets, does that mean I'm locked in? Or can I add more park days at a later date if needed?
2. If I make another reservation to lock in fd, but decide to cancel that one, is there a penalty?

I'm know tickets are not refundable, so that's what is worrying me. If the tickets are part of a packge (room, tickets and fd) are they still refundable? We're not going until Sept, so I'd be getting a refund months and months before the date.

TIA!

Port Orleans Riverside I am pretty sure had a zero entry. I am not 100% sure though. Plus you can also use the pool at French Quarter and they have an amazing kiddie water play area.

We stayed at CBR in 2015 and loved it! We didn't even have time for the pool though...it looked awesome though. If all the dining wasn't closed, we'd consider it again for sure. I hope it comes back even better than ever.

Shutters was excellent as well. :(

We had added tickets before while at Disney. You just need to do it before you use your last day. We went from 5 to 6 day ticket and it only cost us about $10 a person to add that day.

When we booked a bounce back last year for FD we had up to 30 days before the trip to cancel and get a full refund. We only paid the $200 deposit until we knew for sure though. Other may have more info on this though. We have never had to cancel a reservation.

Thanks, but if I'm adding days, I want to do it more than 60 days out so we can fastpass.

When you booked the bb, were tickets part of the package? That's the part that concerns me as tickets are normally not refundable. I'm hoping it's different when part of a package.

I've always booked only packages and have been told that it's refundable with in 45 days to start of trip. I haven't had to cancel yet.

Disney still offers the Water Park only option for other countries? That's good to know. We have a package booked with that ticket option - booked in January before the tickets changed - and I've been wondering if they will make me change the tickets for FD, which would suck because we definitely will not use PH.

Actually, I don't know that they are still offering them to others. The link that was posted was from a Spanish site, so not sure which country, and their offer still included the WP&M only option. The offer could have been made before Disney changed the tickets.

My guess is, if you change to FD, you will have to change the tickets, but since this particular ticket change is new, we really don't know what they will do.

Yes, you buy tickets with the bb. You are purchasing a package for FD which includes resort, tickets and dining. Put down a $200 deposit and pay it off 45 days (or is it 30 days now?) for packages. You will get your deposit back if you cancel before 30 or 45 days out.

In my job we have a shift bid for vacation time, it can get pretty bad. When you have hundreds of people trying to get only a few weeks based off what is available. Sometimes you take what you can get.

Absolutely! Then im completely with you in a case such as yours. You go when you can!

I hope I'm not just adding to the confusion, but I think my package has to be paid in full 60 days before I check in. Would that be the final day to get a refund?

We're going in September and staying at Pop. If FD comes out and we want to upgrade to a regular dining plan, can you upgrade once you arrive at the resort or does the upgrade have to be done before arrival?

No it's definitely not 60 days. It used to be 45 days, but I think it changed to 30 days in the past year or two.

Upgrades will have to be done at least 72 hrs before arrival and paid in full at the time of the upgrade.
