Official 2017 D23 Expo Thread

Watching the live feed with DW and DD was alot of fun with a few girly screams at the announcements (mostly by me). Tron and the SW hotel being confirmed would have to be my favourites and I'm looking forward to the new DVC hotel as well.

Really interested to see more information come out in the next few weeks. Happy that everyone gets to see Fantasmic- it was down when we visited.

Would there be another time at D23 when they talk about Disney Springs? Also really anxious about the rumors that Illuminations is ending. Sounds like we're already never going to experience riding the Great Movie Ride. I've also seen so much talk about the Speedway- what's going on with that?

The theatre on main street is a surprise. The new Epcot restaurant looks cool. Excited for Ratatouille and Star Wars Resort. The Tron coaster looks like it will be a great addition to Tommorowland, but Coasters aren't my speed. Pretty solid announcement block, although they very intentionally left a lot of details omitted. August is very soon for closing things.

Also, I'm ignorant and confused- can someone briefly and succinctly explain how the e-ticket attractions will work? Are they an upcharge to ride?

so, any guesses on where the Star Wars resort will be located? It'd be really interesting/smart if it was somehow connected to Galaxy's Edge.

Also, I'm ignorant and confused- can someone briefly and succinctly explain how the e-ticket attractions will work? Are they an upcharge to ride?

It is a reference to Disney's ticketing system of old, in this context "E Tickets" refer to the most desirable attractions. I do not expect any new attractions to have an upcharge.

Looked at my scoreboard again: there was one more thing they didn't announce. What's going to happen to stitchs great escape??? To be fair only having two blank spaces on the scoreboard final tally is pretty good

The e-ticket term should be descriptive and not something you actually need. In some manner they are the best attractions.

Now I do wonder about tiering though.

but what do you want then? not build new things? Cut back even more on CM costs? run the parks at a loss?

Where are you getting the insane idea they run within a nautical light year of a loss?

We're all supposed to be capable of adult thought here. Take a breath and clear the dust.

Pretty amazing that just about every rumor turns out to be true - even the Star Wars Resort.

I dont think youre alone.. I noticed how very sputtered the applause was at the new ride versus the Star Wars info that wasn't even brand new...

Yeah I really hate they are using THAT Mickey. I guess if the kids like it that's fine. I am really excited to see the technology but it's definitely not what I was expecting for the ride.

I have a feeling this Star Wars Hotel is something that will be booked for months if not years at a time.

Oh for sure... especially to start. I expect a very high price tag depending on exactly what this multi day experience entails too.
