We went to the expo after work today and got there around 6 and they were out of the dark side-specific magnets (though they had some kids race magnets). We asked a cast member and she said there are going to be more magnets out tomorrow although she did mention there was a rumor that the 10k magnets were sold out. We'll see tomorrow! Can anyone confirm that the magnets are sold out? That would be so disappointing if they sold out before many people even get in town.
They've had special Star Wars fireworks off and on for Star Wars weekends for a couple of years now,the ones you saw today started in December and I agree are very impressive. The new ones debuting later in the year are supposed to be even more impressive as they will include projections on buildings, fire and lasers. The current ones are more than worth a visit to the park as the music and finale are amazing, the park is starting Star Wars and Toy Story construction now and is seriously lacking attractions but these fireworks make the park a must do.Anyone go to Studio's tonight? They had Star Wars Fireworks which I thought they weren't starting until this summer. Very impressive! Is it a soft open or will it be something different later this year?
I know most runners use the strategy of pinning it on the night before so they can just put the shirt on race day and not have to worry about doing it in the morning.Since I'm a little paranoid I stopped doing that years ago since in the process of putting the shirt on I worry I'm bending the timing tag in the back and I won't be tracked,so after I put my shirt on I pin it in the hotel in front of a mirror to make sure its straight. This question leads me to wonder which is the better timing tag,the D-tags that goes on your shoe or the B-tag Disney uses?I hear the D-tags are more accurate and I kinda like placing them in my shoe and they create less stress when pinning my bib,at least for me!The only time a B-tag failed to register me at a timing mat during a Disney race was in the mile 20 mat during the 2013 Disney full.
This last one you have to rotate 90 degrees....it was a crack in the street that looked like a heart...pretty much my view when I'm running.
I could not agree with you more about the merchandise. I still don't understand all the blue, maybe they didn't want the other shirts to look like the race shirts? I did like the Vader shirt that said RUN, I may have to go back for that one. I was also disappointed with the Dooney wristlet I got, the pattern doesn't look as crisp and bold as it did online. I decided I will be returning it, for that much money I really need to love it.So glad I didn't like any of the merchandise this race, since by the time I got there last night, pickings were slim. I just think they missed the mark on this one. But I love the race shirt, so that's all that matters.
I somehow got into corral B for the 10K. I'm not slow, but at a 10:15/mile pace, I'm not exactly fast either. This either means there's a lot of newbies - or they mis-corraled me. Either way, I'm not complaining.
Maybe I was just in a mood, but everything at the expo last night seemed disorganized and a lot of people appeared confused. The Expo was HOT too. I was getting sick to my stomach just picking up my shirt. Of course, I've never gone after work before, so maybe it's just the difference between the early AM crowd and the evening crowd.
