Official 2016 Star Wars Half Marthon - The Dark Side Weekend

So I know some of us have talked about where we are eating the night before the race, but what about after? I typically don't feel like eating a big meal right after a long run, but am thinking I should splurge for dinner. Anyone else? Anyone planning to go to the parks the day of the race?

We have a late lunch ADR for Sci-Fi Cafe after the race. Ironically, the only time we've ever eaten there was for the Galactic Breakfast during Star Wars Weekends last summer. It'll be interesting to see what a "normal" meal there is like, then hang out at DHS to wait for Symphony in the Stars (which is AWESOME!!). And we have BOG breakfast ADR for Monday morning.

Just got an email from an authorized runDisney agent that she has a few bibs available--anyone still need one? Admins, if this is not allowed let me know.

Just saw this posted on another feed. It answers a few of the questions we have all been discussing here at least....

This is the part I am THRILLED ABOUT -- which for me, is already included in my AP now:

Besides the price and video option, are there other differences in the photo companies?

With MarathonFoto, you are required to purchase each runner’s photos separately. With Disney’s PhotoPass, you can collect all the race photos for friends and family who are linked to you in My Disney Experience and purchase them with one Memory Maker entitlement.

I am doing the same, and having the SAME PIRIFORMIS problem... have you found anything that has worked? All I can do is take Advil before and after the run. I've done some of the exercises they suggest online, but haven't found anything that works really well. I did switch up my shoes, which has helped some, but it's not gone completely. I have never had Piriformis issues before.... it seems like each time I do one of these rundisney events, I find a new running injury to experience.

This is my third flare up. The first two times, I completed the stretches and hip/core strengthening exercises I found online. (I find that the pidgeon pose stretch helps the most.) That took care of it. Unfortunately, it is not getting better this time. I have a Physical Therapy appt next week and think I might go see a chiropractor to see what they say.

I am going to EPCOT and eating around the World at the Flower and Garden food booths. :)

After looking at the special food offerings last week I decided to do the same thing and cancelled my adr. I am most looking forward to the beef brisket burnt ends hash with a frozen Kirin.

Yep. In the past, the USATF web site would post the course map before RunDisney made an announcement. Recently that has not been the case.

Just over a month to go and still no course maps... Is this normal?
They didn't post this year's new marathon course map ahead of time - it came out in the Event Guide. With the way they have been doing things lately, I'd expect the same for Dark Side.

It will be a Choose Your Own Course! After we cross the start line, everyone dashes off in different directions, and we're not allowed across the Finish until our GPS shows 13.1!

Oooo! And if they do this, we could have a "BB-8 Virtual Queue". Kind of like Dumbo. Instead of a playground, you keep doing loops around Boardwalk/Beach Club until your pager goes off, and then you get a picture with BB-8. That could eat up 10 miles right there.

I think we've decided on going back to the room to hang out by the pool for the afternoon on Sunday, when hitting up Hoop de doo for dinner. I've never eaten there before so I'm excited.
