Official 2016 5th Anniversary Tinker Bell Half Marathon Weekend!

I saw that for some races they offered discounted park tickets, do they do that for this one? I like to buy tickets early but will wait if there is a chance of savings?

Get Travel has park tix for a little discount. It used to be a lot better, but when DL raised prices last year, they got rid of the big discounts.

Tink medals were posted on Facebook by someone at the Star Wars Expo!!

Awesome! Thank you! Now I am super excited! I kinda like the medal (though I do think based off of other challenge medals for rD this is a tad boring).

Flights = booked! And a slight change of plans ... no more Mr. Keels this week (well, at least during the run portion of the weekend), instead I'll be having two ... and possibly THREE of my girlfriends join me for race weekend!!! I'm so stoked.

We ended up switching over to Paradise Pier in a Park View room because I NEED all the World of Color in my life that I can get.

For anyone still looking for a hotel, there were rooms available via RunDisney for all three on-property hotels. I'm arriving super early on Wednesday morning (into SNA), so I'll be staying Wednesday and Thursday nights at the Fairfield Inn before moving over to Paradise Pier for Friday-Monday! So freaking excited.

It is Mother's Day weekend. My mom and I decided to do it a different weekend instead but I could see how some people might be hesitant.

I'm already signed up for the 10K -- otherwise I'd jump over to the Half and do it. Just completed my first half marathon this weekend. Just slightly over the course time limits required for a Disney race (3:39), but a lot of that was due to a huge hill at mile 9 (4% grade - what!?) and most of the course having an increase of elevation until after the huge hill. I bet with a flat course I'd be just fine.

Hey, congrats on completing your first half! That's awesome! And a hill at mile 9 is just plain mean.

Hmph. I'm a little bummed about the medal for the 5th year isn't a "new" medal. I actually prefer Tink without the enamel, but oh well.

I like the idea of the PDC medal, but the execution seems a bit subpar for Disney. I do however love the floral-ly goodness on the lanyards. Very pretty! And I'll be excited to see the tech shirts, because I'll wear them more than the medals anyway. And the merch! The D&B's last year were just so cute.

As for me, BRF has bailed on Tink weekend (can't do the travel costs), which is a bit of a bummer - no girls' weekend for me. BUT that now means that DH can come along and I don't have to hear him whining for the next 3 1/2 months about not being able to go to DL until next year. It'll be a good trip and I'm looking forward to it!

Next time this race falls on my birthday I'm running it for sure. Unfortunately I can't go this time.

I am...a disc in my spine is pressing on my sciatic nerve and it has caused me some pain in my leg and numbness in my foot. This just started last week...it's getting better but I decided it would be best to defer GSC to next year (meaning I will likely be back for Tink weekend next year too - need that pink C2C!). Thank you for asking!

I'm glad you're OK, but sorry to hear you have pain. But FWIW, I think you're being very smart to defer GSC and not push through. Wishing you rapid healing!
