"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

It was posted on Facebook in a private group, and the photos were somewhat small. Not super easy to read. Lol

The character info is the main item of interest, and the official map doesn't have that info anyway.

Completely understand - no problem! Thanks for letting me know!

This will be my first party. I'm going with my Mum and sister, all adults. We are going on the 29th, which I expect to sell out (if it hasn't already). I've heard that the crowd thins out some after the fireworks as those with little ones head out. Is that really the case - i.e. Is the crowd measurably/noticeably less fit the last hour and a half of the party? Or does the vast majority of the crowd hang in there to the very end, so you don't notice much of a difference?

with my own experience, I think that is true in some aspects. Trick or treat lines are shorter, ride lines are shorter, there are fewer people for the second parade (though the areas will still be packed) and lines for less popular characters might be shorter. By that time, I think the most popular characters may already have their lines capped and closed.

I would say that it depends on what night you are there. Last year on October 10th, a sold out night, the lines for everything were still terrible at midnight.

Somebody mentioned a calendar which was posted a few pages back, anyone remember which page? Thanks!

There are so many conflicting reports out there. I read on some posts that rides are walk ons and others say lines are terrible. So hard to know what to expect.

Everything? Terrible? SDMT will stay at a posted wait time of 30 to 45 minutes (maybe more) throughout the party, though your actual wait time will be less. Peter Pan will probably have a posted wait of 45 minutes.

Specifics of what you were seeing would make it easier to understand.

Most attractions will be virtual walk-ons. SDMT will still have a sizable wait for much of the night. A&E will still have a sizable wait for most of the night. It just depends on what you're looking to do.

That's reassuring. We have Fpps for PP and SDMT earlier in the day so won't be doing those during the party

The ride is the same, sure, but with the CMs dressed all creepy and the more creepy feel at night with the ghosts hanging out, etc. My daughter has ridden HM at least a dozen times but got really freaked out riding it at night during MNSSHP. If you have a child who may be fearful of it during the day I would recommend not taking them on it during the party.

That's super helpful and what I was thinking. We have a HM FPP for 11am-12pm the morning of our party ( we are splitting the day and doing morning in MK, then hotel break, then back at 4ish). I just think she will be too scared to ride it during the party if it's made to be extra creepy.

Just checking- even though the party closes at midnight, I could get in a line at 11:55 and they would let me go through it and ride before I have to leave?

Yes. You can get in line for any ride all the way up until midnight and you will still get to ride no matter how long the wait is. This applies any day to the rides at any of the parks.

Note that this doesn't hold true for characters who often have their line cut before closing time. But rides should allow you to get in line even one minute before closing.

Is Rapunzel available to meet throughout the party and if so...is her line shorter as opposed to other more rare characters?

The Haunted Mansion had a steady 45 minute wait all night. The line stretched all the way down to the Liberty Bell. At midnight the Mine Train had a 60 minute wait. The queue stretched all the way outside and wound around the rope. If it wasn't 60 minutes, it was close to. I've never seen so many people at the park on party night that late. I went back and read reports from last year's party on the same nights to make sure my memory wasn't fuzzy. BTMRR was down a good majority of the night, as was Pirates, I believe. To be fair, "everything" probably wasn't a "terrible" wait, but everything we wanted to do was, even at the stroke of midnight.

Its all just going to depend on what night you are there. There is no magic formula. I've been in September and it was a total ghost town. The following year, the same night, was completely the opposite, it was wall to wall people but the ride wait times were still short. Our October party last year was absolute insanity, to the point that we really didn't get much done. :-( It was a great time for the parade, and last year we went to the Soiree, but the lines for characters and rides were way longer than we wanted to wait in. We essentially just watched the parade, the castle show, trick or treated in a few places, got our magic shots, and did the Soiree. I'm hoping for a better experience this year.

Can anyone give me more info about the dance party? Details online have been sparse. It seems like something most people skip. My mom, sister, and I love to boogie, so that might be a good thing to do if lines are long. What kind of music do they play? Are there characters out on the floor just dancing in the crowd? Is it usually packed? Thanks for sharing all your knowledge and experience Dis-ers!

It's a mix of pop songs and Disney music. The characters are on the dance floor with the guests. It's a pretty fun time!

Can't wait for the party! I'm still debating on dressing up - I'm going on a solo trip and while I've always wanted to dress up as Tinkerbell, I'm not confident about sitting on the bus myself all dressed up before other people in costumes start showing up around me!
