"Official" 2015 MNSSHP thread

I'm hoping for some Hocus Pocus themed merch in light of them starring in the new stage show.

I've never seen Hocus Pocus. If anyone sees that it's coming on sometime (although I have a feeling that I'll have to wait until October..) please post here!

What other movies would be good choices to watch before the party?

Buy Hocus Pocus, they hae it in the Movie Club for pretty cheap. Its a great family film!

I've never been to MNSSHP but I'd say Hocus Pocus, Ichabod and Mr. Toad, The Black Cauldron, to start for Disney Halloweens.

What's the lastest I can buy our tix for the 9/27 party? What are the odds it will sell out?

This will be our first party and we are SO excited!
We have tickets for Sept 22nd... my husband is going as Peter Pan, I'm going as Wendy, and my 2.5 year old daughter is going to be tinkerbell!! We were originally planning on going as Eric, Ariel (in her Kiss the girl dress), and have my daughter dressed up as Sebastian in a red tutu dress from etsy- BUT I think we will be way too hot in those costumes!
I'm toying with the idea of hitting a 2nd party on the 25th which is the last night of our trip, but I dunno if I'll regret spending the extra money if it's super busy from locals!

Awww that Sebastian costume sounds so adorable though hahaha.

Personally, I'd buy the second party. That way there won't be so much pressure to get everything done the first party. Maybe the first party line up for a rare character before it starts, but then maybe focus on the parade and fireworks and stage show. Then the second party you can do characters and rides and trick or treating. I guess it all depends on how much you want to do that is special to the party. Full disclosure, I am obsessed with MNSSHP so of course I'd say get tickets to 2 parties.

Lol it was ADORABLE!!! I'm still on the fence but my husband is flat out refusing to wear a long sleeved shirt. Ha guess I can't blame him :) it looked just like this but we added a red tutu!

Your husband could just do a short sleeved white shirt for Eric. I'm pushing for this now because I think that Sebastian costume is the best thing I've ever seen. How cute!!!

when you buy tickets, it looks like you can print at home, will call, or have them shipped... My question is do all of these options link to MDE and when you show up do they scan your magic band or take your hard ticket? And last year I heard they had problems taking admissions days from your multi pass if you scanned your band to get into the party? We will already be spending the day in MK and staying for the party.

Your ticket should automatically link to MDE. Last year I had no problem getting into the party with my MB, but I had the ticket on me just in case!

All options should show up on your MDE. In fact, mine showed up in the app almost right after I made the purchase, before my hard ticket was even shipped to me.

We're going to the first party :D Currently divided on costume ideas, we're planning on being in MK all day then going to the party. I take it you can't turn up in costume till 4pm? I'm thinking we might have to rent a locker and change? :)

I've been seriously considering another MNSSHP/Food and Wine long weekend, but if the Soiree isn't offered again this year, I'm less inclined to go.

Do the party tickets get mailed even if you're in Canada? I know I have to wait till I get there for my magic bands, but wasn't sure about these tickets.

Since I just went through this, I thought I would share with everyone.

How to pick out a costume for MNSSHP:

1. Do you want a Disney costume?

-if not, what are your interests? Sports, tv shows, other movies, comic books, animals etc.

2. If you do want a Disney costume:

-here is a pretty definitive link to all Disney movies: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_Walt_Disney_Pictures_films
You can peruse the link and think of all the characters in the movies. For example, Cinderella does not only have Cinderella and Charming, there are also the mice and the villains and so forth. Sometimes secondary characters can be the best costumes.

-go through all the rides in all the parks. Maybe you want to dress as some of the animatronics in Spaceship Earth, or like the Country Bears in Country Bear Jamboree.

I just went through this procedure myself and we came up with 11 choices :) Now we just need to narrow those...

Also factor in cost, wearability on rides/crowds, possibly hot weather! I have maybe three choices, but not thrilled yet, thanks for the list I will start looking again!!!!

Hi all! We are headed to the first party night and can't wait! I adore Hocus Pocus so I am super excited about the show, and can't wait to hear if there will be a soirée. Right now I am thinking of doing a shipwreck Ariel costume. So excited!

Is there a post for pics of people in their costumes from previous years? I know I've seen them scattered in different posts in the form but I think it would awesome to see them all in one place!
