Official 2015 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread.

Well damn. Good catch. Sadly you are correct.
Extra Magic Hours (EMH) are good for Disney hotel guests and work at Disneyland and California Adventure.
Magic Mornings (MM) - Are for people with 3-day or longer park tickets and only work at Disneyland. You can get a detailed run down of this here.

So to amend my earlier post, during race week we have the following:

If are a Hotel guest with "Extra Magic Hours" you get:
Wednesday: California Adventure
Thursday: Disneyland
Friday: California Adventure
Saturday: Disneyland
Sunday California Adventure
Monday: California Adventure

If you have a 3-day or longer park ticket you get:
Wednesday: An extra hour to sleep in
Thursday: Disneyland
Friday: Extra sleep
Saturday: Disneyland
Sunday: Extra sleep
Monday: Extra sleep.

Thanks for clarifying!

Ok, I am going to be a whiny California girl right now. But it was so hot this week. I only ran once last week, no long run on the weekend and my first half marathon coming up. I know it does not seem that warm to those of you from much warmer climates, but it's miserable to me.

My house is a sauna (no central air allowed in my condo and I've been trying to avoid lugging out the portable), I bought new running shoes with no time to run in them, so not sure I should use them. Overall, just WAAAHHH. It's cooler this week, but the forecast gets worse on Sunday. Again. And I'm going to be so slow (at LEAST 3 hours on a good day), it will definitely be warm mid-race.

Overall, I'm just not looking forward to this.

Ok, rant over. I'm sure it will be fine. I just feel under-trained and whiny. :)

Does anyone know if they sell or will be selling the Pasta in the Park Party tickets at the expo? Thank you.

There will be slower runners. I would suggest you not wear your new shoes if you have not had time to break them in. If the heat and sun bugs you, you don't need blisters as well.

Here comes today's dumb packing question:

Has anyone carried a version of The Stick in their carry-on bag?

I was just researching that myself. I have read that some people have been able to and others not. I bet it kind of falls into the same category as hiking poles, baseball bats, golf clubs, night stick, etc. I would be afraid that I would have to check it because someone thinks it could be used as a weapon.

Looks like you can buy them at the expo, subject to availability.

Yeah, I saw that. But I already own one and don't have a need for a second one. And these babies ain't cheap - I think I paid like $45 plus shipping for mine. :(

Exactly what I'm afraid of. Grrr.

I somewhat think the TSA at my local airport would let me carry-on, but I don't know if the TSA at John Wayne would let me return with it. Any thoughts?

Slogger Accu-Disney-Doppler 6000 Weather Update......looks like the weather pattern is holding but slightly cooler the rest of the week with warming temperatures from the West starting this weekend. Hopefully we catch a good window as the heat returns next week. Shouldn't have to worry about any raingear during race weekend, but don't forget your SPF gear. Sunny and warm people, So-Cal style!

Anyone know how fast the "I Did It" shirts and sweaty bands sell out? I know the mugs/glasses/jackets usually sell out pretty early. I won't be able to get to the expo until late Friday afternoon. Not enough vacation days for me. I'm only running the half this time and was hoping to get a shirt to commemorate the 10th/60th anniversaries.

I've taken mine in my carry-on in Australia, but we're not generally as strict as the US with airline security. If you're checking a bag, I would put it in that just to be safe.

Thank's y'all. I'm going to try to carry it on (hopefully my TSA pals at DFW won't care), but worst-case, if I have to check it in my bag, I have my run gear and shoes packed in a gear bag at the top of my suitcase that I can pull out and throw in my large carry-on tote so at least I'll have that stuff with me.

I *think* I have everything printed out for packet pick-up on Thursday morning as well! I'm so ready. 48 hours from now, I'll be on my way to the coast!!
