Official 2015 Disneyland Half Marathon Thread.

FWIW I love running on vacation - such a great way to see things! I've got to string together at least 16km (10 miles) in Cairns next weekend, and I can't wait! I get to run along the beach, over mangrove boardwalks and through the botanic gardens. And I'm even looking forward to getting up early on my first day of vacation because while I'm running along the beach, I'll get to see the sunrise :goodvibes
I'm very jealous of that. The esplanade area downtown is so neat. I'm sure it will be an amazing run.

I'm thinking it'll be almost like a practice run for the day, because I'll be trying my new compression gear (shorts, which I would freeze with in Melbourne lol!), taking it easy with the heat, and wanting to stop now and then for photos.
Melbourne's great for running too. The trail along the river out towards Richmond is beautiful .

Yeah the Esplanade looks pretty cool. I'll try to post any pictures I take :thumbsup2

You're right, the Yarra trail is great! Unfortunately I don't live close enough to use it and am stuck running around the outer suburbs. There are a couple of creek trails though which are nice.

I don't think we can figure out the corral placement for the 10K yet since you have the DDD number. I thought they had listed times on the 10K but they don't, so you'll find out when you get the bibs?

We won't find out or 10k corral for DDD until we get our bib. Yes, we get 1 bib with 2 corral letters on it or at least that's how I saw it was last year.

You could probably make an educated guess about where you'll end up based on your DDD number, but like everyone else has said, you won't know until you see it printed on your bib.

Thanks for this. I'm running the 10k with two friends, and I'm just hoping I'm not stuck in a corral behind them. I know they can move back, but I'd love to have a little extra buffer time to take photos with the villains. We'll see...

I noticed that. It only goes to G.

Crazy corrals. looks like they went for the less corrals more people option. Each early corral with the exception of elite has close to a thousand people. You get into D and you're already at close to 1600. Huge jump at E where you're close to 3,000. It also looks like people submitted pos past 3:15 too

Yeah - I wish there was one stuck in between <2:35 and <3:15 because that's a pretty big time jump, but whatever. I'll just have to get there early!

I'm pretty happy I just snuck into D. A 1500+ corral is big, but not as big as I was fearing. So what does everyone estimate the takeoff time for corrals to be with this setup?

I'm in D, too - my goal was to just not be in one of the massive corrals, so I'm happy!

And it looks like I'm in A for the 5k. Because, obviously rD recognizes my blazing speed. :joker:

Actually I forgot to account for the dumbo double dare group... So that would mean 1700 plus for the early corrals. Probably over 2500 for D and then a crazy number for E and on

I am in C for the half! Holy crap. I went to take a nap after coming back from riding and came back to this.

To those in the back corrals particularly D because that looks like the over done pace time this year. Good luck. I was in H and that grouping last year not fun.

Ugh. So true. I need to get faster. LOL

How did you figure out 5k corral?
