Got registered for my first 5k, yeah not the best run, but doing it for myself, I know I can get lazy and most likely will, but if not then I'll be more then ready to go
Ha ha!!! I will probably do some picture taking.... especially since I know there will be plenty of slower moments for me.Awesome! Will you run with your camera & take pics for your Disploration page? That would be really cool!

Maybe I'll even get super inspired and run with my DSLR, instead of a pocket sized camera.
I've seen people do that!
Just keep in mind...it'll be humid, you'll be sweating, there will be a lot of people around...so on and so forth.

Now to figure out the logistics (school, kids, work, etc.)...all the things that make life interesting!![]()
So that means you have to do your training runs with it(Edited to fix my horrible spelling)

I bought a little point and shoot, cause no way I'm running with my $1500 DSLR. I love that camera too much. The $60 point and shoot, if it breaks, it breaks.
So huge kudos to you if you run with a DSLR. I might have to take a picture of you taking pictures with it, cause that will be highly impressive.
That's how I feel about it, and my DSLR isn't worth that much! I have a Canon point-and-shoot that I paid a little over $100 for that has held up pretty well through 8 races at Disney. I've been bringing my phone in a Lifeproof case too. Not taking any chances.
I can't believe I forgot to try this!!! But I'm still so excited I got in for the half, that I will just pretend I know nothing about this.
Okay question has anyone ever done the Family Reunion Breakfast? Is it any good and what the heck do they serve?
They didn't do any deferments. It was just straight up cancelled. They mailed everyone their shirts and are offering discounts to 2014's races, and if you run in 2014 you'll get the medal you would have earned in 2013. Plus they have this special deal with Rock n' Roll series where is you ran the 2014 Dallas Rock n' Roll and the Dallas half/marathon you get an extra medal, so I would be getting three medals if I do their races. I do love me some race bling ...

We did the Family breakfast after the Royal Family 5k (Princess Weekend) in 2013. The food was mediocre at best and I didn't really think it was a good value.

Well, although the no-deferrals would have disappointed me, it sounds like they tried to make it up in other ways.
My caveat here is that I was sick as a dog and feeling rotten, so I didn't enjoy anything like I should have. BUT even through the haze of that, the 5K was neat and fun. Everyone around us was having a GREAT time. I don't think there's anything wrong with the WDW 5K, and yay for you!!!!!
DS and I did it after the 5K this year. I found it to be rather blah. The characters in the tent were random Monsters U. characters. Neither DS or I remember the food at all.
But for some ridiculous reason I had a total misunderstanding of what it was going to be; I was picturing it IN Epcot, not in the parking lot tent. And as I mentioned above, I was sick.
By the way anyone know when we can start booking hotels or why I'm hitting a road block trying to select January dates (website won't let me go past December of this year)? This isn't our first time booking a Disney hotel room. But whenever we try to book anything we can't go past New Year's Eve. And there is no way we are arriving that early before the Marathon.
Disney usually don't open up the following year for bookings until August if I recall correctly.
