Official 2014 Tinker Bell Half Marathon

I have a group run planned for tomorrow for this

Check it out, share and get a group together for a run tomorrow...I've even seen a running website that has posted a downloadable design to use as a bib for anyone running in support of the Boston runners and spectators. I've had a hard time getting back into it since Princess so I thought this was a perfect reason to jump back into it.

I'm wearing my Princess race shirt and saw a woman today wearing her Boston shirt from 2012.

My heart is just really sad. I can't even watch the news about it. :worried:

Will put my 4.9 miles in early evening.

I wore my princess 1/2 shirt and my dd who is 8 wore her kids race shirt and we did 2.62 today together after school

Yesterday I wore my PHM 2012 shirt under my work clothes, and ran 4.09 last evening wearing my TOT 10-miler shirt. My thoughts and prayers will be with Boston during all my upcoming training runs.

I don't know anyone who was involved, but the tragedy really affected me, I think cause the runner family is so connected and so concerned!!

Patty and Summer are you guys and your friends and family okay and not near the explosion area.

Vicki ~ know you're going down to DL soon, wasn't sure when so have fun!

:thumbsup2 That's so nice of you to think of us...I'm waaaay south of there myself and don't personally know anyone that lives in that area. I am just emotionally exhausted this week with all that's gone on. It's just so sad! Since I work at a TV station, with no less than 6 TV's going non stop in my department, I can't get away from it...it's like we keep jumping from one disaster to another all day. :faint:

I put together my little "Run for Boston" group last night and got out there for only about 2 miles...we had several of different distance abilitles, so once around the loop seemed like it was good for all...it was my first proper run since PHM, I'm afraid to admit :worried: But, wasn't as bad as I was thinking it was going to be so yay for that. I feel like I have a renewed motivation to get back into it...which happens to coincide with the new edition of my favorite shoes being released for 2013. Now, that's what I call serendipity ;)

Kim--Thanks. :) After Mondays horror in Boston and really am looking forward to going to the Happiest Place on Earth. We leaving and flying down early tomorrow. Dieting all week so I can enjoy lunch at Carthay Circle, Blue Bayou for dinner and breakfast at Steakhouse 55.

Thanks for asking! I'm about 1 hr 15 min or so south of West. It's a small town- known for it's bakeries. I'm so sad about this loss! Volunteer fire department- thats it. :( It's just terrible.

But we are safe here.

Oh my gosh! I could not imagine working at a TV Station this week, I would have to take time off. I finally started coming around last night, but before that it was just numb. The whole thing was so surreal it's unbelievable. I was up early to watch it online, went to work and then when I was about to go on at lunch time, it was right after it went off. I knew my sister was working in Bunker Hill and didn't have the day off b/c she's a nanny, so I knew she was safe, but seeing Bolyston Street like that just hit me hard. To know how crowded it is when the race is going on, 7,8 people deep from the street to the store fronts. I can't even count how many times I walked down that street or ran down it or stops I've made in that running store, it's crazy. You always hear people say that they're numb when something happens, but I've never felt it until Monday.

And then to have all the coverage from last night and this morning...:worship:

Glad the group run went well! I get your shoe happiness adding to your motivation ~ I was talking to my dad last night and he picked up a new garmin and asked if I wanted his old one, "yes please!" :goodvibes

Have a safe flight and eat lots of good things!

On a happier note ~ a little less than 1 week until reg opens for NYC!!

So glad you guys were not physically affected by it. What a sad, crazy, scary week it has been!

On a side note, I had my first PT appointment yesterday and it went well. I have some exercises to do for two weeks then I go back again and get more exercises to do.

We had a great time at DL. Since you like the goats and animals you might like this... We did see something we've never seen before at Big Thunder Ranch...it was the "animal parade" or the running of the goats. I guess it's a thing since there were a lot of people hanging out waiting to watch. After the ranch closes at 4:30 the CM's get the goats, sheep, cow what ever else is out that day ready to take back to their home on leashes and they parade down TM trail. They are lined up; the cow in front leading the way, followed by all the goats and a few sheep in back with signs. It is actually really cute to watch and the crowd just loved it.

Next trip is in 6 1/2 weeks--not that I'm counting.:lmao:

PT didnt give me an updated so I"m assuming the 6-8 weeks (now down to 4-6 I think) still stands? Whats not promising so far is that my hip was really bothering me after my 5 mile walk yesterday.

I'm am sure they would love it !!!! I takes a few min. to get the animals all ready to go but it's absolutely adorable to watch. About 4:45 they start to head out. I was also so surprised to see the crowd waiting to watch and how they were enjoying it as well.

I never knew that!! I'll have to remember that Labor Day weekend. Glad you had fun! The weather was so nice here and I saw a bit of the Angels Game Saturday and then Indy was on late Saturday night and I started missing DL. I was trying to figure out if I could get a weekend in in 2 weeks, but I can't. :( So no DL until Aug.

Eww, that's not good. Hope it feels better soon for you!
