Official 2014 Tinker Bell Half Marathon

I've never done a costume...but then again I've only done one Disney race. I dont know if I'd be comfortable in one. They're so cute though and they look like fun to plan....hmmm I might have to try to get creative this year.

Costumes don't need to be elaborate. Even just color-coordinating your running top and shorts and adding in a couple of character-specific accessories can make the experience extra fun.

I can't narrow down Tink just yet. I'd be willing to re-use my Isabella costume if we could get a Troop of Fireside Girls together. That would be so cute!

Pretty sure I'm doing Classic Mouseketeer for 10K at DDD and then Darth Vader for the half. Pending the shirt coming out right for Darth.

I had my Tink outfit all planned out!! But I'm not doing the Tink now, so I'm going to use it for the Enchanted 10K!!

I have the "you can fly" sparkleskirt, green tank, and dollar-store wings!! They are all just sitting on my crafty table, I really should put them on hangers so they don't get funky between now and February :thumbsup2

For me, I HAVE to dress up for Disney races, it feels sacreligious not to :lmao:

Enchanted 10K is in WDW during the Princess half marathon weekend, if you do both the Enchanted 10K and the Princess, that is the Glass Slipper Challenge :goodvibes

My plan was to do the Tink, then the Glass Slipper challenge, but can't afford it :worried:

Got it thanks.

Trying to still figure out all the races at Disneyland. At this point it's just a 1/2 & 5k & kids....I wondered if they were thinking of a 10k.
DL has way less races than WDW. I would live a night race (like TOT).

That's what I do. For Tink this year, I had my black capri tights, the Captain Hook raw threads tee and a feather in my running hat.

I agree, I wish DL had more too. The big thing is that b/c DL is surrounded by city streets they have to work out more permits when they do a race, so it's a bit more work than WDW. I would love a TOT night race out here! As for the Tink 10k, they'll probably add it for '15 seeing as how popular DDD and Dopey were and the buzz around the GSC.

Patty that would be so much fun! I'd be in!

I have a Classic Mouseketeer running outfit that I've worn for both Wine and Dine last year and Tinkerbell this year! I was thinking of maybe breaking it out for part of DDD, too!

Pictures please!!!

I was looking around for one, and realized that I actually don't have a proper pic. Here are a few not-fantastic ones that I grabbed from the race pics, and a pre-race phone pic.

What you can't see in any of these is the back of the shirt, which has the has the classic mickey mouse logo on it. I'll have to put the outfit on and have someone take some actual pics for me!

Forgive me if this has been asked before: Does anyone have advice for how to get the best price on the Disneyland Hotel for Tinker Bell weekend? (Yes, specifically the DLH b/c it's my mom's favorite, but I'll also take information about the Grand California). Or at least have some sort of estimated idea of cost? I saw a link to Get Travel accomodations but I wasn't sure how that would work. Do you also fundraise when you go through them? What's the fundraising minimum?

I've really got to get this figured out before the early registration for Tink/PHM/GSC next week! DS really wants to go back to DL and we're debating July vs. January..... i want to run, but my family wants to swim in the DLH pool again!

Go through the GET travel link and you will see the prices. You do not have to fundraise when you book through them. I just clicked on it and its showing the rate for DLH will be $254 per night for Tinkerbell if you book through them.

Thanks - can you register for the Glass Slipper Challenge/Tink combo through them as well, or only through Active?

Not sure about the combo, but the spots for races through them are charity spots. I think they also give you a park ticket w/ reg. I'm not sure if it's only after the race sells out or once reg opens though.

So if I'm reading this right, you do the Tink/Princess combo and then the DL 1/2 in Sept you get another one? You don't have to run again in WDW? Maybe I'll take the pink 1 at Princess then... :scratchin I'm not a pink girl but if you get both, why not take both? Miss Patty, have you heard anything about the DL course maps yet? I pretty much know the 1/2 course, but really want to see the 10k.

I forgot to ask you ~ I know you're not doing the SJ Run tomorrow, but are you doing the SF one in Aug? I got the email w/ the Romo bobblehead and love it! I'm not running it, but am trying to convince my dad to do it so I can steal it from him. :rotfl:

I looked at the get travel site... Am I correct you can't reserve your room yet, right ? It was 2013 fees.

Disney updates hotel pricing in July for the following year. ( most hotels run on a 6 month or 12 month pricing cycle). Minus the current month sometimes. Expect Get Travel to be booking in July.

Let me add:

Expedia etc says no rooms avail. This means none are open yet. It does not mean sold out.

Last Jan 2013 I had no idea there was even running in Disney. Booked a long weekend over TinkerBelll run. I had no prob getting a room at Disney owned prop.
