Do the athletes get any free seats for family members? Or does everyone outside of the teams & coaches have to pay?

Pretty sure they must pay for tix to Opening/closing and the events. No free tix for anything.

Liechtenstein's jackets are ugly. I've been wanting to dye my old down jacket that faded horribly after being washed too much. I'm afraid it would look all patchy & ugly like the Liechtenstein jackets.

Yeah, you can see a ton of empty seats right behind the tunnel.

That's where the athletes sit for the rest of the ceremony. There's a bunch of spectacle left once they're all in the stadium.

The actual opening ceremony was just over 3 hours long and the athletes were seated within the first 90 minutes.

I like our uniforms this year. They don't have a huge polo pony taking up half of the uniform to advertise Ralph Lauren. These actually represent the U.S. Olympic team. AND they were actually made with 100% U.S. sourced fibers & materials.

I think the USA uniforms look ridiculous. Bad Christmas sweaters. Then again, it's kind of the name of the game. The uniforms we had to wear for the opening ceremonies of the Special Olympics World Summer Games in Greece in 2011 were plenty ridiculous too.

Yes we got to see it live this morning...watching it again with my kids. We're lucky enough to have several stations airing events live.

Really announcers, if I'm looking for scholarship don't look at these opening shows? Couldn't have figured that out for myself. Can we please enjoy the shows and the music?

Some of the Russian delegation are wearing coats that look like Santa Claus. There was one country wearing what looked like blue Snuggies!

I'm another one that absolutely loved the USA sweaters/outfits! My motto is: You can never have enough red, white & blue and stars and stripes.
