Yes, I know the origin of the word, but the colloquial meaning has changed.
A racial slur is a racial slur, but that's not what this thread is about.

Apparently there is a petition out there to have the judging of the women's free skate looked at.

On a good note...another fantastic hockey game between US & Canada!![]()
Not everyone considers it a racial slur.
Yeah, like that petition is gonna have any effect whatsoever.
I watched last night and thought the decision was a fair one. Although it would have been equally OK if the Korean had won. Sotnikova was going all out while Kim sort of looked like she was phoning it in.
I actually preferred the bronze Italian Kostner's performance the best, but she wasn't as good as the other two.
A short while ago Johnny Weir (wearing another outrageous outfit) and Tara Lipinski were chatting with Bob Costas, giving their opinions on why the Russian deserved to win. Made perfectly good sense to me.
Double damn!!! Now we gotta keep Bieber AND his father!!
I believe for most people the "g" word lost any negative racial/ethnic connotation decades ago.

On Good Morning America the other day Sasha Cohen (?) explained the scoring system and how the routine was the most technically difficult...she broke it all down and it made sense.
Damn!!! J.Quick has turned into a piece of Finlandia swiss cheese.
OK, that's both a bad pun and unfair to Quick. The whole US team is just falling apart at this point.
Jim
I like the vertical stripes on Finland's socks, however.
The argument that the judges chose right within a certain system does nothing to mitigate the argument that the system itself is flawed and unjust. And if someone doesn't see a major problem with allowing two judges involved in a place fixing scandal to ever sniff the judges area again, when will they see a major problem? Would major league baseball ever allow anyone that fixed a game back in? Ask Shoeless Joe Jackson. After 95 years they still won't even let him in the HOF.
Just got done watching the Mens Slalom. I cant believe all the skiers going down. Is this just a poor course design and poor ski conditions or skiers just not up to it?
0-5 now, they should be ashamed of themselves. Wonder if any of the high contract players will be ashamed enough to pay the Olympic Committee back for their travel expenses.
