Hi all,
I registered myself and my family for multiple races at this year's WDW Marathon weekend. Unfortunately, due to some circumstances we are no longer going to be able to attend.
That being said I have quite a few race entries that I'm looking to sell. I'd preferably like to sell them as one block but would be willing to break them up if needed. To give some reference on how I registered my family, see below. The only races that HAVE to stay together are the ones for Me doing the Dopey Challenge because I'll only be receiving one bib for that. All other races will be receiving a bib for each race and could be divided up however you choose
Me - Dopey Challenge (5k, 10k, HM, FM)
Spouse - 5k, HM
Son 1 - 5k, 10k
Son 2 - 5k
Prices are as follows (I'm only wanting to recoup cost, not make money):
Dopey Challenge entry: $525
Three 5k entries: $60 each
One 10K entry: $110
One HM entry: $175
Total Package: $990
I'm willing to travel and meet you at the Disney Wide World of Sports complex on Wednesday, January 8 so I can pick up all the entries and then make the sale to you.
This is my first time ever attempting to sell race entries so don't know if there is an accepted protocol regarding assurances on both sides (as you can imagine I would hate to travel down there and then the buyer not show, likewise YOU want to make sure this is not a scam)
If you're interested, please contact me at 'bassbells at gmail dot com' or here on the boards so we can discuss the situation.
Thanks in advance!

RunRookie said:The Goofy Challenge is a very BIG accomplishment! A Half followed by a Full? Not too many runners would do something like that (other than us crazy runners like Marathon Maniacs). I say, train well, avoid injury, and enjoy the experience. The Dopey is certainly a major challenge as well but it does not in any way diminish the significance of completing 39.3!
Kirsty-Leigh said:Hello everyone,
Some of you might know me, and some might not.. I haven't been on here in a while, but I stay in touch with a lot of WISHers on FB. Anyway, I ran Goofy '10 and '11 but then took a break from racing as I am a horse trainer by profession and I struggled to keep my body healthy enough to do both sports. However, the draw of a new challenge was too much to handle and so I signed up to do the Dopey
So my question for you guys is how much training do I have to do (I am sure the question has been brought up a lot on this thread so far, but there is 49 pages and I am lazy), my main worry is my body breaking down... Like I said before I ride horses for a living.. I spend about 50 hours on my feet a week and some days ride up to 5 horses.. I also teach and a lot of that foot time is spent walking around an arena. The 50 hours does not include my running time
On the plus side, I am pretty darn fit.. on the negative side i never really get a chance to let my body recover and I cannot afford to break myself.. I don't show up, I don't get paid
Right now I am running Tuesday, Thursday, and Sunday but only around the 4-5 mile mark, and if I feel like my body can't do it I don't go. On Mondays and Wednesdays I turn out horses at work and walk none stop for about 4 hours (then ride and teach), On every other day except Sunday I just ride and teach. Sunday is my only day off.
So one question really is, how much running do you think I really need to do to get fit enough to run Dopey, but not breakI feel like it's a thin line I am walking (or running I guess). I think I would prefer to be a little under trained rather than over, but not too much under that it's impossible to finish!
My other question would be eating... I literally eat anything I want whenever I want right now and I struggle to get enough *good* calories in a day. I am the thinnest I have ever been and I don't need to lose anymore weight (not underweight but thin), so if any of you have any ideas on what foods will be the best to eat while I train that would be awesome.
Thanks everyone for reading my essay... and hi again to people I haven't talked to before

Thank you! I am nervous about the Goofy being on my schedule now but super excited too. I appreciate the reminders here that the Goofy is still a significant accomplishment even though Dopey appeared in the scene this year.
If you can run the Goofy, the two smaller runs included in Dopey would be nothing but warmups. IMO, running all 4 only presents one greater challenge - the ability to manage sleep deprivation, as you would have to wake up so early 4 days in a row. Physically - no difference.
I haven't seen this posted anywhere on Disboards, so I thought I would share for those of you that prefer the Hal Higdon training programs. Here is a link to a Dopey Training plan that he just created.

There currently isn't an interactive version on Training Peaks, but he is considering it.
I plan on using this training program with a modification to the Tuesday runs. On Tuesdays, I'm going to mix it up a bit with interval training and hill repeats.

Has any new info been released recently like course maps or pics of the new medals? I have been checking the official marathon site and the Run Disney blog, and haven't seen anything yet. I thought maybe somebody else might have other sources (official or otherwise).
That Hal Higdon plan is intense.
As for the early mornings, what time do the races actually start? Coming from the west coast waking up @ 3:30 will be like getting up at midnight...
I'm not 100% sure, but I think everything is 5:30 except for the 5k, which is maybe at 6:15?

The Hal Higdon plan is intense, but so is the Dopey Challenge. The one thing that I've felt after training using HH plans is that I really feel ready for the race. To be honest, I thought the plan was going to be a lot worse than it is, so I'm happy about that.
