Official race program is up as well...Links appeared a few minutes ago for Final Race Instructions. Links didn't work initially, but do now (at least did for me a minute ago).
Hopefully waivers sometime soon

NOTHING NEW BEFORE A RACE!!!!! When will I get that through my dense head?!![]()
Carolyn, you ROCK! Thanks so much for that - I needed it!Yep, I foam roll religiously - before and after every run, twice daily even if I don't run. Sometimes thrice, for good measure.
I went to my chiro this morning and my right hip was WAY out of alignment; just having her jam it back into place relived a lot of tension in my ITB. I've been "off" ever since a very long, intensive yoga session last week and I suspect the resulting tightness, plus my sprained LCL plus new, - albeit better - shoes was just the wrong combination of stuff at the wrong time. Another rolling option might be worth looking into. My trainer has been rolling my legs with what basically looks like a short broom handle about 12-15 inches long. First time he did my calves I thought I was going to cry. After that the calves have been good...but my outer thighs/ITB he has done 2-3 times and they still hurt. I can definitely feel a difference in the tightness after he's done.
My guess is there is a way to DIY but probably better to find someone to help you with this one.
Logistics: Read over the race day instruction sheet several times, during the 4 weeks before the race. This will help you mentally prepare and rehearse what you will be doing on October 1st.
Yes, I do that as well. I use this: https://www.thestick.com. Found it originally through running websites talking about IT band issues, and physical therapist said it was great to use in addition to the foam roller.
OK does anyone NOT wear a costume? I really don't think I'm going to do anything more than a "I'm a jogger" type of costume. I might even wear shorts, since they've actually proven to be more comfy than my HappyGirl SkirtSports running skirts! Non-costumers, remind me who you are!

Yeah, that's where I started last year... put simply, I was not impressed. He didn't do anything more than what I could find online, but for free. I tried my chiro as a last-ditch effort before quitting running altogether... she's a miracle worker. I really just got lucky that the one I called happens to be a runner, treats a number of local runners, and has also had experience treating dancers - we tend to have some issues that most PT's/Chiros don't understand. Like, I'm very, very flexible, thanks to a lifetime of ballet and yoga, which both presents its own issues and means that the stretches commonly used for ITB stuff don't work for me; I can fall into pigeon and stay there all day without effort.I've never been to a chiropractor -- I know some people who definitely swear by them. Have you ever tried a physical therapist?
They do expect we'll read these things, right?
Ditto - plus I tore a rotator cuff ages ago and it healed with a ton of scar tissue; swimming more than a couple laps stretches the scar tissue too much, which hurts a whole lot. Not to mention the thunderstorms that occur every evening here, the only time I'm able to work out!I wish swimming did that for me...but I'm not a face-under-the-water person, so swimming makes my neck hurt since I crane it up out of the water.
I'm not doing a real costume - too hot! My friends and I are wearing DIY tech shirts... we're Team DHARMA.OK does anyone NOT wear a costume?
I use a wooden rolling pin--it has basically the same effect and I didn't have to spend $30 on a stick..
