I'm one of those Northern princesses (I'm in NJ), but I still managed to get in my 12 miles yesterday -- longest run ever, and last long run before the half. I had to slow waaaay down to avoid busting my butt on the snow and ice, but I'm finally feeling ready for my first half marathon! I can't believe we're almost there! :cool1:

Yes, the B&b gathering sounds lovely. Sorry, I'm in G.

Have you done Coast to Coast yet? You should maybe try it. Would be a good excuse to go to CA (I use Run Disney as an excuse to drag my parents to WDW, I see FL a lot less than I see CA)!

Nope, never been to Cali and no Coast to coast. I think I'm too old and toooooo broke.

So my last long run was going to be today but I picked up a nasty cold this weekend and stopped after five miles. How much is this really going to effect me? Should I try to get my last long nine in later in the week?

I did a bunch of googling last night and realized I had forgotten to try one thing: Gummy Bears!. I remember seeing someone mention it once, and completely forgot about it. I even see several sites where it looks like Jeff Galloway himself has recommended using Gummy Bears. I'm totally going to try that this weekend on my 8 miles.

Anyone else use gummy bears?
Thanks for the help, ladies!

I use Welch's fruit snacks. :)

Anyone else nervous of doing something silly in the next two weeks (like tripping and spraining an ankle)?

Hi Princesses,

Well, any other New England Princesses with cabin fever? We've been stuck inside the house for 4 days straight (aside from shoveling) - 30.5 inches of snow followed by freezing rain prevented us from going anywhere. We're very thankful we didn't lose power this time though - phew!

Ugh-- me too! 2 ft of snow means no running since Wednesday. :( I'm hoping by tomorrow there will be enough melting/rain to run tomorrow. Tonight's potential run got killed by work.

I hear you. I really wish nemo hadn't found us! Not running since last Monday makes me antsy, especially coming off my knee injury. Stupid snow!

Yes !!!! Or have a piece of luggage fall on me from the overhead bin inside the plane. Oh yeah.....just a little paranoid. :rotfl2:

Omg, yes. I made DH take our dog out tonight because the sidewalks are pure ice. He fell 2x, so I'm glad I didn't risk it.

I ran 10 miles Friday. 15 degrees, and lots of snow/ice/slush on the ground. It was slow for me at 12:53. I really had to slow for the ice and snow. I haven't run since. And I probably won't until Weds. :(

I feel ready. I'm corral D, have the race retreat, and finally finalized my costume. I'm totally going to melt in FL. I'm crossing my fingers for a record cold day. Sorry southern ladies! I run in a tshirt at 35-40 degrees. I might die at 55-75. :)

My foot has been feeling good since Saturday so I decided to do a 3 mile walk today. It felt pretty good afterward but I soaked in epsom salts and followed with blue goo and stretching in case. I think I'm gonna try to run 3 miles tomorrow since it has been 2 weeks since my last run. I really hope I can do it pain free! Right now I feel like 13.1 would be the same as running from OH to FL!

I'm a southern lady, and I'm hoping for COLD temperatures too. :goodvibes I would much rather run in cold temperatures than hot ones.

Glad you delegated the dog walking and managed to skip falling on the ice! Hope DH was okay. :)

I think I already did...sprain my ankle that is.

So I'm not the best at sewing anything since I've never done it before, so my fiance finished up my jasmine outfit by sewing the fabric onto my headband and sewing my top for me. :) Outfit is officially done and now I can actually pack my bag! Eeek! The excitement!
