Did 9 miles this am with significantly less pain than when I ran 7 last weekend...I'm doing the happy dance! There were some twinges here and there but I really think the Chiro treatments are helping! That, and I ran in my cumulus that still have plenty of life left in them instead of the nimbus that I was trying to love. I'm definitely running the PHM in the cumulus now. New ones come out in June so I'm curious if they maybe made any more changes to make them more like they were before this last set...definitely will be checking them out....really cute new color combos too, since we all know that's what really matters :)

Anyone heard of the Neon Splash Dash? Looks similar to a color run, but its at night and your sprayed with glow in the dark colored water or mist or something like that at the stations. The little one that I ran Expedition Everest wants to do it...coming here in late march. It looks like a lot of fun! I told her I'd ask my Chiro if she thought it would be ok since it's just a short 5k that we'd likely walk a lot of, so maybe I'll sign up next week. If anyone's done one, let me know!

Thanks for the confidence boost! I am extra nervous because this is my first half. It's all about reaching my goal and all of the hard work I've put into the training...198.5 miles before my mishap! I have never had a break in my training and now I can't do the last 50 miles of my training program. I'm worried about walking the parks all day on Friday and Saturday and how my foot will react to that and then how I will do when I really put stress on it during the race.
What kind of injury are you battling?
And I am an in-town bearcats fan, on the east side of Cinci!:cheer2:

I can't find what you are dealin with but wanted to share...2 years ago my first princess I had to stop training 5 weeks before when I had Plantar Faciitis flare up in my foot BAD. I saw a sports med doc who put me in PT. the doc told me I COULD do the race, but would need to slow down and take it easy and be prepared to stop if it got really painful. The PT did all kinds of ultrasound stuff and iontopheresis along with gave me some stretching to do. I am a galloway runner and cut my intervals down from 2/1 to 1/1, so I was running as much as walking. I was prepared during the race to go down to 30sec runs or even all walking.

My PT said she thought I was ready and could finish, but that I needed to be prepared to get on the van if it got bad again. I set my mind to just get to the castle and everything after that would be a bonus. It was frustrating as I had not missed one training run - until an ice storm the week before my injury and just wanted a good race.

I had had PF before in the other foot and my podiatrist had showed me how to tape my foot to support the arches and Plantar Facia. I would tape my foot to walk in the parks...we did alot, but I was stretching ut while we were waiting in line, gentle stresses, no pain! My stomach had gotten upset with all the Advil I had been taking, so I found this creme at Walmart Blue Emu that while it didn't heal tings, it certainly helped.

I finished the race! I did great for 7 miles then it started to hurt and got a little worse. I am so proud of myself for trying and for paying attention to my body and finishing up. Just do what you can, listen to your body and your doctors and PT.

And if you have slowed down, just stay over to the right and be courteous to others. People were so nice along the course. I had forgotten to put my camera battery back in, so I stopped for only 2 pictures i think.

anyway, take care and have a great race!

Just picked up a new pair of brooks today as my shoes from Tink are not working too well. Can't believe it's in just two weeks :)

I finally posted a pic of me as Jasmine on the fundraising site. It's not that elaborate, but it's comfortable and makes me happy :)

My girls say THANK YOU to you princesses. You helped us raise over $1000 and then I got inspired to make a video with the kids which inspired more and we're at $1328 now. Wow! That's over 66 kids in poverty vaccinated. Super duper :yay:

Did our last long run before the big one. We did 13.5 in 2:35. We went slow due to my several injures and it was icey.
Finished with a smile on my face instead of crying.
Hope the next few days goes by fast!!! I'm so excited and pumped to do this race with my 3 best friends.

My friend is very concerned that she will be swept. She is going to to her best to finish and is ok with being swept if that happens but she is wondering what will happen once she is swept. Where do they take people? Do they get a medal? Any info will great.

I've been wondering this as well. Any thoughts experienced princesses?

This is my first PHM, but this is from a FB group: "From another page on being swept....The person on the bus was amazingly supportive. He told us that we would be taken to the finish, they drop you off where you waited to walk to the corral, and there was a medical tent there. As we climbed off the bus, they gave us mylar blankets, gave me Tylenol for my foot, gave us our medals and congratulated us. It's not a horrible experience being swept, it just kinda stinks."
