Official 2013 Disney Princess Half Marathon Thread - Take 2

A lot of training plans only bring you up to 10 miles, the theory being that if you can do 10 in training, then you can do a half. In fact, I really hope that's the case since I'm doing 10 today. It will be my farthest before the half. Next week I'm cutting back.

You will both be fine! I wouldn't sweat it at all. You're trained and ready. Start your taper period and get excited!

i don't know. just seems like they could have updated everything before sending it out.

that being said, i'm looking forward to princess weekend. i haven't run since my 8 miler last sunday. :rolleyes1 i've had some motivational issues. i'm going to run today though. maybe another 8 miles. of course all the snow isn't going to help...

good luck to all in the home stretch! looking forward to seeing you all there. after the 5k i'm going to the WISH meet up at DTD. and i'll be wearing my WISH shirt at the race!

I wouldn't know since they still can't seem to be able to get any emails to me...which is just another problem that seems to happen more and more. I don't know if by adding new races and increasing the size of the current ones has caused all these issues or what (maybe a case of biting off more than you can chew?)....but it's disappointing that there are so many snafus, yet the races cost us more and more each year. Sure, most of them are really small things individually, but together they pile up and diminish the experience as a whole, in my opinion...from registration day to the starting fireworks. I hope they can get it all sorted out and properly organized before they decide to take on any more.

What time does everyone leave their resorts to head to the start line? I'm staying at AKL and trying to decide the best time to leave.
 

Last long run done. 11.15 miles average 15:11. Longest I've ever run. Temps here started at 60 degrees at 7 am when I started. It's 70 right now. This would be perfect conditions in two weeks. You never know, Florida can be extremely bipolar temperature wise
 
Can someone recap any of the potential get togethers before or after the race?

i agree. i'm sure the race will be awesome but the lead-up is falling behind a little!

What time does everyone leave their resorts to head to the start line? I'm staying at AKL and trying to decide the best time to leave.

i am planning on getting on my bus at WL at 3:30. i believe the buses start at 3am.

I so wish I would have come to this thread sooner! You girls are great! I've read back about 60 pages and have found out all sorts of great info and confidence boosters! We can do it! Can anybody add me to the facebook group or tell me where to find it?
 
Two weeks from now we will all be sporting our medals!

I got my emails, but I am seriously wondering why they didn't spread out the runners a bit more since there are a good bit more this year and the race is starting a little earlier. Would it have hurt to add another corral? I mean I love this race, but man its gonna be tight in MK and after we leave on that 2 lane road. Oh well, no matter it will be a blast. I just wonder if they have been so distracted with the DDD they didn't think alot of things through for the Princess....and on the emails and such have someone double check the stuff.

Got my 10 miler in and so ready for the weekend!

OMG, I can't believe it's only 2 weeks from now. I will either be in traction, on a stretcher or in a wheelchair! But.....I will have an adult beverage in my hand.

Emails? Plural?!?! I would settle for one. Anything important I should know? I've been reading here so I feel prepared, but I shouldn't have to rely on a message board to gather info.
 
There were a few ladies wondering if RD was using the right submitted proof of time in calculating corral placement. You might want to log into Active.com to view your registration to see what they have listed. Mine is listed on there with the name of the race and the time I completed it in - I submitted mine about 2 months after I registered. I had a weird glitch with logging in so if you can't access it for some reason, they will send it to you via e-mail as well. I was just trying to find out which Disney Princess I picked for my bib but they sent me my whole entire registration record.
So if I go back to the original email I got from Active.com and check my registration information, and it still lists the race I registered with NOT the new information, that probably means that the new race information was NOT used for corral placement, yes?

I'm in the same boat with you. No e-mails from run Disney. Without this board I wouldn't have my wavers. I did get a link from facebook for the commemorative poster. Thanks everyone. :)
