Official 2012 Wine and Dine ½ Marathon Thread

I am staying at riverside. How do I get back there after the party ends at 3 am? Are there busses? I would think so since a lot of the spectators who purchased Tickets to the party are not staying at host resort. But if not, are taxis available easily and at what cost?
Thanks all! I ran the half marathon this past January and am hooked on disney running! So excited!

POR is not a host resort, so you cannot take a bus. You can probably call a taxi, though.

As Amy said, there will be no bus service. If it is like other hard ticket events, there will be taxis waiting. It couldn't hurt to call ahead to ensure one though. I don't do taxis so I have no clue on cost.

Wow. Expensive.

I'm finding $11-$15 for DHS to POR in my google hunt.

It was $18 for POFQ to the CCC in 2010 which is further away... I think we'll ask the fee before we get in just in case, $35 is way too much for that distance!

Anyone know if you only get discounted resort tickets at host hotels or any Disney resort through RunDisney?

Yes, you can get the discounted park tickets no matter where you stay. I'm staying with my parent's through DVC and was able to buy them seperatly.

Registration closed as of 9am Eastern this morning... :(

You might be able to get a bib through gettravel.com. They usually have several hundred bibs available even when the event is sold out.

Hello all! I'm all signed up for the half marathon! This will be my first time at the wine & dine half marathon, my first race at WDW, my second runDisney race (Tinkerbell was my first half ever!), and my 6th half marathon this year! I don't know if you can tell, but I'm a little excited!! :)

My parents and sister will be at WDW with me for the trip, but don't really want to pay the extra to attend the afterparty. Are there some good spots they can view the race course from so they can still watch me run? A little background - my mom uses a walker and is pretty mobile, but the least amount of walking would be best. My sister was thinking maybe the boardwalk area, before I cross into Epcot, would be a good option, but never having been to a WDW race before, I thought I'd check with the experts. :)

The boardwalk area is perfect, albeit toward the end of the race (which is when I typically need the most encouragement anyway). Congrats on your C2C :)

Thanks. I'm actually trying to win an entry through iFitness' Facebook page. There's a few of us in training and we have to blog every week - the top vote getter wins. Really hope I can pull it out, because I've been training hard and this is something I really want to do...

Well, it looks like the W&D is sold out, but they still have room for the 5k. My niece was talking about walking the W&D w/me, but she waited to long, so maybe we can do the 5k together. I booked a room @the CBR, which is one of the host hotels, so I hope it won't be too confusing getting to and from the race. The shuttle should pick me up @the hotel, correct?:confused3

I know there's been talk of pre-race eating, but the Disney Food Blog just posted the Food and Wine kiosk menus for you to peruse.
