Official 2012 Wine and Dine ½ Marathon Thread

Well I did it...I'm now an official W&D "runner". I figured the only way to find out if I can make it to the end is to just do it! I have to admit I'm really nervous but also really looking forward to the challenge.:cool1:

Thanks Todd...have you been able to find any good airline flights out of DTW? I need to work on my flight and hotel now.

Well I have decided to use some of my built up frequent flyer miles for the trip down so now I just need to find a hotel. I can't wait to do this! Now that I have made the commitment I'm really excited.

Unfortunately, still finding extremely high prices for this weekend and the ToT weekend.:scared:

I had very good luck with AirTran - got great deal from Ric to Orlando. And since I was able to book through my company I get their benefits (seat assignment, free checked bag, etc)

I got to page 9 and gave up on finding the answer to my question. I have a few question. My sister is running the 1/2 and I wish I could but maybe next year, I do well to get through my couch-to-5k programs each week. Would the 5k be fun for me and my girlfriend (both 25)? Would my sister and her fiance be able to get into DAK to see us at least finish the 5k with just a park ticket? - Found it online, unless it was wrong, the race starts and finishes in the parking lot of DAK so they can see the start and finish

Thanks!

Just curious what and where some of the experienced Disney runners eat the day of the race? :wave2:

Way to go TigerTown! I, too, am slow and I'm shooting for a 14.5min/mile pace. Enough to keep ahead of the sweepers and perhaps stop and take a pic with a character or two.

I use the run/walk method by Galloway. I run 30sec/walk 30sec. works well for me and I'm not too tired. This will be my first 1/2 as well!!

Good luck with your training!

My husband & I just registered! Woo! This will be my fifth half and his first! Soo excited!!

Congrats and welcome to the party!

Just curious...how many of us are staying at the Swan/Dolphin the night of the race?

Do you want to share a van to WWS instead of taking the bus- avoiding long lines? I taxied from BC to CSR one night after fireworks and it was only $12.

We would have but for the trip back to MCO... we won't have a car so we need ME. There is only two of us so going a different route is spendy..!

I'm at the Swan. (I think - or Dolphin. I have to go back and check!) I'm down with this taxi option! :)
