thanks for all the advice on good phone programs. Hoping to find one I enjoy and can easily use. I do like running to pandora (even though it has commercials) because I get a new variety every time I run but keep the same type of song/beat.

I did it today.....hit the submit button for the registration and booked my room at SSR! Now to get plane tickets and I will be all set.

I don't know if Interval Run by Delta Vee is only for the Iphone, but I paid $1.99 and compared to the program I paid $4.99 it blows it out of the water. Can't say enough good things about this app.....

Happy training!

What better place to run your first 1/2 marathon.. So excited.. I've been lurking around this thread for a few days now and decided to pop in and say hi... Looking forward to Disney, I'v never been. :cool1:

What an awesome way to experience disney for the 1st time! Are you going to spend some time in the parks before/after the race, or are you just going down to run? Disney does a great job with their races, especially the on course entertainment, you can't beat it!

I went out for a looooong walk tonight, almost 4 miles and my knee felt good. I tried running a bit at the end at a really slow pace, and my knee still felt good! Finally I think I may be over the hump. Tomorrow I might try doing an interval run. Doc said to start out with 2 miles and walk 100, run 100. I'm assuming he meant meters. Just not sure how that converts to miles. I'll have to look it up. But I'm so excited I was able to do something with no pain!

Do you have a track near you? There are 1600 meters in a mile, so you'll run 8 times and walk 8 times in a mile. If you plan to stick really closely to the run 100 meters/ walk 100 meters then the track would probably be the way to go!

Thanks Heather! :flower3: I do, the high school is just around the corner and they do have it marked for every 100 m. I'll start out over there.

Hi all! I recently registered! I have done the Inaugural W & D, again this yr, and the Donald this past Jan....I want this Princess Medal and this race looks fun!!!!

Have no idea where I am staying yet....!
I know this race has been very popular and I am excited to finally be participating!!!

Thanks to the poster who mentioned ordering your shoes online. I really liked my older asics model better than the new one so I just ordered myself a new pair via amazon.

Another great place is http://www.runningwarehouse.com/. I got my last pair of Brooks for $50 shipped and it came with a free tech tee and reusable bag! There is a WISH team discount code, but I'd have to look that up because it's saved in my checkout information.

I found a 10k to do in November. It's a fairly flat course. I've only done 5ks so this will be a good learning experience. I'm excited!

I do plan on flying down the Friday before and leaving the following Tuesday.. Lots of time to visit the parks..

A friend mentioned the following Monday after the race entry is free into the park with your finisher medal.. Does that hold true for the 2012 race?

Not sure about Princess, but in Jan after the Full marathon, finsihers were allowed entry into the park...they had a special day...not the Half's....cause I was a Half'er...

That's exactly what I did, too! They just came out with the Ravenna 2's, so I was able to snap up a pair of original Ravennas cheap. I was really pleased with their service - and the free stuff!

Im a coupon lady and you can save 10% at RunnersWarehouse.com if you enter RWAUG11. Some items are not elgible for discount though. Happy Shopping!

The WISH team code for *thing you do in a race* Warehouse is WISHRACED. 15% and free shipping.

It changed a few months ago. Mods, please remove this if it's not ok to post it here...I think it had to change before because it was googleable.

If you wear ASICS-2150s, Kohl's has them for $64.97 right now. I got a pair at lunch with a 20% coupon and it's tax-free weekend in NC, so $51.97. :)

However, I wear men's shoes (big feet, sigh) so YMMV.

There was no free admission last year for the Princess Half. There are some pretty good discounts on tickets, though. I know that you can order them online once you have registered. You may be able to purchase them at the expo, as well.

Thank you for your thoughts and prayers ladies - had my interview today! I feel I did the best I could, and now its in their hands! I just pray this is the job for me, it sounds absolutely lovely and I want it so bad!! Also I brought up to the lady that I would need a little time off in Feb. and she said that would be no problem at all if I get hired  Now I just have to wait patiently she said they will make their decision by next Friday! Its gonna kill me til then!!!!

So thank you thank you for your thoughts and prayers, and if you have time, keep me in those prayers again this week that I do get this job. I really really would like this one!! Thanks princesses :lovestruc

I'm glad to here the interview went well for you. That is such a long time to be on pins and needles waiting for them to make their decision... I hope it ends up in your favor!

Hi all, just registered for the 2012 Princess ... super excited! I am actually a triathlete, and this is my first Half ... hoping to do some running and walking, would love to be able to run all 13 miles, but too worried about training away from the swimming and cycling. Anyway ...... can't wait! Plan to order a necklace too!

I have an interesting situation, because I will already be in the area for a business convention, and plan to stay an extra few days to complete the Princess. Is there any roommate service to help keep costs reasonable and also have moral support for those of us who will be in the area solo? I've seen a few other posts, and wondering if there is a place people can reach out. Any suggestions?

Thanks and looking forward to seeing as many of you as I can. Wishing all your training dreams come true!

Hi Ladies!

Haven't checked in for a while but have been following. Thanks for all the advice on shoes, as I took a week off I thought it would be a great time to start fresh in some shoes, so was fitted in the area and found that I was running a half size too small. Working towards the Half here in Richmond on Nov 12th, so here goes nothing :). Keep training and know the heat will break soon!
