Sorry if this has already been answered - but in all my visits (15+) I've never been over to ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex. I don't recall seeing bus transportation over there in the past, could be that I wasn't looking for it. Any suggestions for the best way to get over there?

Also, is anyone else experience issues with the ticket store link from your registration email? Know the tickets are only good during that weekend but wanted to look at prices to see it if was worth me purchasing a 7day non-expire for my trip in Oct & Feb or a 4 day for Oct then another 3 day (through the website) for Feb.

Thanks for any help or suggestions!

I have yet another 5k Royal race question if you all dont mind. Does anyone know what time you have to be on a bus by to get to the start line? I know the race is at 7am on the 25th but havent been able to find any info on what time to be there.

thanks!

Last year bus pickup for the 5K ran from 5AM to 6AM. We got to the bus stop at 5:30AM (ASMovies) and didn't get on a bus until almost 6 due to the buses filling up at Sports and Music before even arriving at Movies. They did end up sending 3 buses just to Movies and I believe that took care of the people waiting. I know the CM working transportation kept repeating that they would send buses until everyone was there.

first of all thanks to all esp you experienced racers for giving such great advice about training and our bodies and nutrition. And to Coach and all the other guys who post here to support us - esp with all you have to go through about our fun costumes. ;-) That being said....you don't need to read below.... silly girl stuff.

OK, I am having sign up remorse, not about the race but about the princess I picked! :lmao: Almost enough to email and have it changed, but still thinking about what I will wear race day, though my costume is more color scheme and run/walk comfort and function! Yeah, I know silly.... I will probably email and have it changed...but actually waiting til after a 10k I am signing up for labor day as hoping my time will be just a little shorter than the 1:12 I submitted with registration, so can kill 2 birds with one email. :goodvibes

AND to TinkerAmy - you sure you want to offer me beer after the race thinking about my excitement at the Move It Shake It Parade down main street last year... to those who weren't there, I kind of danced all the way down the street shaking my medal - I got a hug from Goofy when he came off the float, made my afternoon! Good times for sure!

Is Minnie a Princess?

I think I am wearing a red tutu with a black shirt, and red or black head band.

Just wondering ...::MinnieMo

I would call to get a quote on ticket prices, that is what I did last year before I bought them.

As for Transport to the Expo...I THINK there were buses from host resorts, but I could be wrong as we stayed in a non-host non-disney resort (the Swan) and had a car so we just drove.

I think you are right. I know for the W&D there are busses to the Expo from the host hotels.

That's the whole point of staying at host hotel (in addition to a slight decrease in rates if booked thru runDisney). Free bus to/from the expo and the race.
However, as has been mentioned before, you can grab a ride even if you aren't staying at the hotel. Not practical for the 3:30 am bus to the race, but for a free bus to the expo, you could go to a host hotel and take a bus on Friday or Saturday (thinking mostly of people who might be headed to MK but first stop by the Poly to get a bus to/from the expo - probably not time effective - but free).

AND you can stay at the host hotel and still enjoy the bus transport to expo and race without having booked through RunDisney..... they are just there and are NOT taking names. ;-)

Actually, I'm hoping to see more of that! To think we could have missed the parade, gone to the one thing we were planning on, and gone back to the hotel! I would have missed leading the conga line with King Louie!

Ok I'm curious now, Julie, about this color scheme you've got going on. :)

And speaking of that... what color would Jasmine be? I'm guessing turquoise...

Hi Folks.

It's official, I've signed up for the 2012 Princess Half! Eep! I started c25k in March and just finished my first 10k! I ran/walked it with a good friend who hadn't trained as long so we mostly walked, but it was actually cool for me to do a race in a relaxing way--I've pushed it on my two prior 5ks. I do kind of secretly want to know what I can do in a 10k!

That said, I should confess I'm a total penguin, running about 42 minute 5ks. I'm doing Galloways fitness class on Runkeeper titled 5k under 30 minutes. Not going to happen in 8 weeks for me but the training program looked right and I wanted to try out Galloway's approach before deciding whether to use it to train for the half. I've found it very helpful to have training programs to structure my running so far, so I need a new one tout suite! So I'm just going to change that 30 to a 40.

I was surprised to find in training for the 10k that I really like distance. I always felt like I could go farther, even on my longest training runs. Now, 7 miles isnt 13.1, but I've got half a year to get there, right?

We went to WDW last year for presidents week and I managed to wrangle free dining by starting our trip the wednesday before the holiday week. Can't be sure that will happen again. POFQ is our favorite resort, so that's easy, though we might rent a house offsite if we can't get a code. Trying not to worry about that...

Anyway, it has been fun reading this thread. I went back to page 85. Oh, and I'm also mamacate on runkeeper and daily mile, so feel free to friend me there. I've sent requests to a few of you who posted your usernames.

Cate

Congrats on the long run!

I don't think we know what the necklace looks like, but I still plan to order one. If I don't like it I can give it to DD. :)

You are on to something there. :) I wonder if I can order it now that I've already registered?? And like you said if it's not great I can give it to the little one who adores plastic beads and this has to be at the very least be a step above that. :rotfl:
