I am planning on signing up next week. That way I have to keep training. I can't back out! Plus I'm really excited about it.

As Saysay mentioned, the favorite princess question is the color of your bib. Here is a list of all the bib colors and princesses I remember seeing last year in case you want a certain color.
Blue - Cinderella
Yellow - Belle
Green - Ariel
Pink - Aurora
Purple - Snow White

Does anyone remember if the newer princesses were on the list last year? If so, please add them to the list!

Tiana was a light green (not sure how it compared to Ariel, but I had her)
I think Rapunzel was Purple and Gold??? Not sure, but I figured it would either be one or both of those...

I thought I remembered there being the newer princesses too. Ariel was a deep green, so the light green for Tiana makes sense with her dress.

I'm signing up next week and I'm going through an  moment of sorts. I've never been a long distance runner, and whenever my team would do trail runs I'd be in the back of the pack. I never thought I'd do anything like this, but here I am :goodvibes

And I'm going with Belle for my favorite princess. BatB is my all-time favorite Disney film and I love Belle.

I just signed up for half marathon #6... Oct 9th in Austin. It's a See Jane Run and will have chocolate and champagne at the finish. :) I also found a great deal on a site called zozi (which I had never heard of before), and registration was only $37!

Hope everyone's training is going well!

We're soooooo signing up for this race on registration day #1! And we're running a half marathon come hell or high water! :cheer2:

Brief drive by drive by from me!

We leave tomorrow for FLORIDA!! for those who don't remember, we are moving to central fl for a job opportunity for my husband. I fell off te wagon for a while, but I have been back at it for the last two weeks. Can't wait to have a minute to really catch up and meet all te new faces!

Good luck on the move! I just moved down to Orlando last week and it's been hot and humid (surprise surprise) but it's been a lot of fun so far :goodvibes

I'll be signing up tuesday for 4, all 3 of my DD's are going to run the race with me this year. So we'll be 2 Aurora's, a Belle, and an Ariel (unless they let me do Rapunzel).

If I heard right today, the Daytona 500 was moved to the same day as the princess marathon. Just FYI

My dear hubby found you wonderful people - I never knew this site existed! Item #1 on my bucket list: run a half marathon. Done, ran the Shamrock Half in Virginia Beach in March of this year. Item #2: run a Disney half. Registration is calling me, and hubby is supportive and will run with me. I will be 60 by race day! My question is has anyone had issues with tendonopathy (spelling?) in their feet? My feet hurt pretty much all the time, but with icing, stretching, and some colorful language on occasion, they are what I'd call manageable. My shoe of choice is Asics Gel Nimbus because of the cushioning. It's frustrating but as long as I can run, I'll deal with it. I am a slow runner and age has brought an increasing dependence on Jeff Galloway. My shorter runs are usually a 3 run/30 second walk, but longer runs are 2/30 second or 1:30/30 second. No one will ever accuse me of being fast, but I have fewer injuries than my hubby usually. For those of you who are considering trying the Galloway method, I **highly** recommend it!! Also, you can purchase a small beeper/timer thingie that allows you to set the intervals you want for running and walking, and will beep at you when it's time to change pace. It's small enough to clip onto my bra strap under my shirt and be unobtrusive. Can't remember the price but it's available on his website.

Sorry for the length of this post - it's just so exciting to have found this wonderful community!!

Oh, and I run in compression shorts sans underwear. Less is more, ya know? :thumbsup2

Hmmm... you, know I NEVER thought about non-cotton for the "drawahs". Going out tomorrow to buy microfiber. Gotta be better than the sweats um, down there.

First run tonight in 2 weeks - shin splints after my last 10K and we went on vacation last week. Went great, except it is SO STINKING HOT & HUMID! But am trying to get a little something in before the Peachtree Road Race on the 4th! Can't wait!

good luck on the move mama dis!

SLP...Cali to Orlando, talk about Weather shock!

I think Orlando and New Orleans are 2 places I just couldn't handle with the humidity and heat....but they are sure fun to visit!

WELCOME TO THE PRINCESS THREAD! Great group here. I also do Galloway...2/1 person here. You will love the princess, it was so much fun last year. Yeah it took me 3.5 hours, I had Plantar Faciitis, but i finished and had a blast the first 7 miles...the last a little painful, but still plenty of entertainment. Can't wait for it again!

It is quite a difference, but luckily it hasn't been too bad lately and I've been loving the rain and lightening storms since we don't really have those in Cali... Just been hard finding time to train, but I'm getting better at it.

The good news is I also work in doors and partially in the water so it works out really well.

Hi everyone! Wanted to add a new favorite thing for me!

I'm sad to say I switched BFF's.... I have always given very high praise to the Garmin 205 but I have found a new friend. Just bought the Nike GPS sportswatch. WOW. It is as accurate as the Garmin but smaller and lighter then the Garmin. I also like that you can wear it as a watch too when you are done.

When you get back home you plug it into your computer and all kinds of cool interactive maps/training guides etc pop up. You can set goals (calories to lose, miles to run, pace to reach etc) and it will tell you what you need to do to meet those goals. Also keeps track of calories lost. This thing is super fun!

Looks cool! Is the an optional heart rate monitor?

I actually switched too, to a Garmin 405. Love it so far! I am wearing the heart rate monitor and foot pod so it will track all sorts of fun stuff.
