Great deal today on iFitness belts from Active.com Swaggle deal of the day....
$10 gets you $20 worth of merchandise. You pay shipping, for details...

http://schwaggle.active.com/deal/29...emium-running-belts/national?cmp=24-4-68272-4

I have a spibelt, but am mulling over this deal. I am also assuming if you wanted say a double that is $26, you pay the extra....again, see the link for details.

Bummer they sold out. :( I had a SPI belt but I didn't like it. My phone is thin but big and it would flop the whole time I ran. I bought the double pouch iFitness belt at the Princess expo and I loved it. I gave my mom that one though and I am planning on getting the race hydration belt that has the toggles to hold your bib. I already bought my sister one for Christmas and am hoping to order mine soon too.

Don't get down! Try to enjoy the rest (minus the GI issues!). You might surprise yourself when you get back out there. I missed about a week of training last year too because I was sick and my first run back I felt great and it was one of my best times at that time. Sometimes your body could really use the rest and a little time to repair itself...don't push it and get back out there too early though. Feel better!

ITA!! I have had the same thing happen time after time. I think sometimes our bodies just need the forced rest to re-energize.

I ran 4.5 miles today at about a 13 mm. That's my farthest distance yet. I'm pretty happy with the pace.

Great pace!! :worship: :worship:

I am just coming off of a month of no running due to an injury, I have 3 runs in so far, but I am having a bit of an issue in pain in my inside arch. Hoping to work it out to get my miles back up.
So looking forward to the princess.

Ok, ladies. Last night I bit the bullet and registered for the princess. :goodvibes I never ran before this year. I started the C25K on Memorial Day weekend and I have been pretty consistant with running 3-4x/week. I am NOT a runner at all. I use the Galloway walk/run program. Finished my first official 5K this weekend at 33:55.:woohoo: I was hoping for 32:00, but the last mile was uphill.:scared1:It kicked my butt to say the least.

You ladies are so inspiring. I've been following you all summer. Congrats on everyone's efforts toward being a healthier you! Can't wait to join you all in February!

Sounds like you're a runner to me!!! Great job on your 5K!

I was not fashion coordinated tonight, but I was sporting some new purple leg compression sleeves I picked up at a nice run store in Orlando last weekend while on vacation. They suggested either running in them or wearing them after a run to help with recovery or even sleeping in them. I ran in them and didn't even get a cramp at all from my calves. The purple will match my princess outfit, and also deter my DH from wanting to use them...I :lovestruc him, but I don't need him stretching out my goods!

Do you know the brand of the leg sleeves? I have some purple compression socks, but have been wanting to try leg sleeves for awhile now. I love purple, so they'd definitely be something I'd love to try!

Sounds like you are a runner to me too! I totally agree with Amy. :goodvibes

First short run of "fall" this morning with a running buddy. Man, the cooler temps are so much nicer... granted, cooler here means upper 60s instead of upper 70s at 6AM!

What was the name of the running shop, heading down to Orlando in a couple of weeks.

Pj

It was called Track Shack. Parking and entry is at the rear of the store. Everyone was very friendly and they even had toys for the little ones to play with while we were absorbed with their merchandise!

Hi everyone I am a real "newbie" both to this group and to the idea even of doing the Princess 1/2. I talked a girlfriend into joining me and we have registered and got our flights, but we are now working on where to stay and the costs seem so high! I had read about "codes"? Can someone explain that and how to take advantage? Should we just book now or wait for the "code"? Also please let me know if this was the wrong place to ask this because I have no idea....I just went to the only thread I saw about the Princess 1/2. Thanks!

The rack rates are high for the weekend. You can get a bit of a discount through rundisney. 4 nights at a value were $593 - add about $200 more for a moderate. I know some people have rented DVC points and gotten a room that way.

Sounds like you're a runner to me!!! Great job on your 5K!

Thanks for the support.:flower3: I guess maybe I should have said I was never a runner before. I was a competitive swimmer as a kid, but never could run more than a few minutes without getting a huge side stitch.

Today was my long run for the week. 5.91 miles in 1:06.30 at a 3 min walk/1 min run ratio. I couldn't believe I went that far!

I agree that it's great the weather is finally is cooling down. Makes training that much easier.

Keep running, ladies!

You guys are getting my pumped up. I still haven't run my first 5k, that's about 3 weeks away, but I am running at least 3 miles 3 times week. I started six weeks ago and couldn't run from stop sign to stop sign. I now have whittled it down to about 10- 10:30mm and a long run of 4 miles doing the Galloway intervals. I run 5 min and then walk 1 min. I love reading what everyone writes. You all just get me excited about not only running, but running well for myself. I know I could never be an Olympian, but I can be pretty darn good compared to where I started. Thanks to all of you for sharing your little victories, and bad days, makes me feel not only normal, but part of a community....I would say sisterhood, but I know there are few guys out there too. Keep up the hard work my friends!!
:thumbsup2

They are Zensah.

I have those, too - in purple! I got them online at roadrunnersports dot com for $20 for one; I think you can order a pair for $35? If you go through ebates, you get cash back, also. I haven't found them to be miraculous or anything, but since I have it, I figured it can't hurt, so I keep wearing it. There are a couple of different kinds, but the one I ordered is specifically for calf / shin support.

I am super jealous. Here in Houston we are still getting in the mid 90's during the day. I run at night and it is managing to make it to the 80's :headache:

Isn't it amazing how far you have come in such a short time? Great job on doing the 5/1 intervals. I can't keep that pace yet doing anything longer than about 2 or 3 miles. I need to drop back and do a 3/1, but it feels amazing to just to run without feeling like an elephant is sitting on my chest. Keep up the great work!! :thumbsup2 Are you going to be doing the Galloway 1/2 marathon training plan?

Hi Princesses!

I need a new training plan! I used Couch to 5K to get up to the 3 mi distance, at about 11-12 min miles. It's time to start working towards longer runs, but I'm not sure what the best (free) plan is to do that-- they either seem really intense (running 5 days a week, at least 3-4 miles) or too light (3 days a week, with 2 light/short runs and 1 long run). Any suggestions?? I've been looking at Cool Running plans and the beginner half marathon plan on Active Trainer....

Hoping for some suggestions!

I used Hal Higdon's plan for beginners. His website is just his name and .com. There are some plans on there that he wants you to pay for, but there are also the free ones. If I remember correctly, you do 3 mid-week runs and one long weekend run. I am doing Galloway's half plan now - you can get these plan's on his website or on the RunDisney site where the Princess half info is. Galloway is a little more laid back and time-based; Higdon is def. distance based. But you def. don't want to make the mistake of over-training and getting yourself injured before the half!!!

I'm in Houston too!! I'm a NYer living in Houston and cannot believe I've been running in the temps we've had all summer!! Do you belong to a running club?

Thanks! The rainbow of colors they have in those sleeves could be dangerous if I find I like the sleeves. I already have a rainbow of colored compression socks...

Thanks for posting the website you ordered yours from. I check running warehouse and they didn't have purple, but the other site did. I'm working at a few expos this fall, and going to a few bigger races with expos as well, so I'm going to keep my eyes open for them there first.

first real run since surgery yesterday I did 2 miles indoors on our Y track, run 2 laps walk 1. Unfortunately I bonked when I got home and go so busy doing the "house thing" I forgot to ice the knee. So I woke up at midnight and did it! It still feels a bit swollen but better. Some Ibu and maybe an ace on it today for PE classes though!

At least it now feels like the Princess is a possibility again.

Yay! That's awesome news! Hopefully you can take it a little bit easier today.
