Official 2011 Wine & Dine Half and Relay Thread

If there are 12,000 racers (assuming that's 12K of complete halfers and relay teams) and 5 corrals, that would break down to approximately 2400 per corral.

I'm assuming I'm in C with 5111.:confused3

Ok yeah, I was just doing 12,500 runners / 5 corrals, which puts me in the third grouping, which would be C. But I feel like I'd be farther back than that since I signed up with a 3 hour estimated finish time.

There were only 7300 finishers last year. Plue 600 relay teams finished. I don't know what number are entered this year.

I've got to pick only 3? Yeah, not going to happen. Have 5 :)

"The '59 Sound" - The Gaslight Anthem
"End Transmission" - AFI
"Behind Closed Doors" - Rise Against
"Black Friday Rule" - Flogging Molly
"Ocean Avenue" - Yellowcard

My playlist is a mainly mix between punk, pop-punk, bagpipes & drums, and club/dance/pop style stuff (Usher, Jason Derulo, Ke$ha). Kind of random and disjointed, but it provides for a good mix of stuff. I've got about 100 songs on shuffle so it stays fresh. I might trim that down a bit for the marathon.

Thanks everyone for the songs! It's fun to see everyone's different types of music choices.

I am in the 3000's and was predicting C as well.

I am surprised by the fairly low number of finishers last year. The Princess and Donald have almost double that amount. Was that due to the new course and new race? I wonder if it will be as low this year.

That 12500 runners probably includes the 5k and kids run. Also factor in that there are probably 1000 teams or so, so that is 2000 runners, I feel the half has 10000 or so running and 1000 are second leg relay runners. So that leaves about 9000 starting at the corrals, and they usually aren't split evenly, the front ones usually have a little less. I figure numbers under 2500 will be cutoff for b.

My DD and I are doing the relay and my number os 21765. We put in a time of 3:00:00. Last year my number was 11163 and we were in coral D, last coral.

I am staying at my daughters on Friday night and then we do have a reservation for *** for Saturday night. for us. Did not want to travel the 45 min to get back to her house. We do have the hotel for Friday night also but this will be used by my SIL and GS since they are doing the 5K . We will meet them at the hotel and use the pool and relax.

I will not be at the meet but hope to see everyone at the race. We will have our WISH shirts on. My daughter will be wearing one of mine so that she will be recognized.

Good luck to everone

I should be easy to recognize, I am actually going to wear a strawberry outfit. It's a dress with strawberries on it with running stuff underneath. A picture of it is here. So just look for the one guy with this outfit one. :thumbsup2

You will definitely stand out, LOL.

Hi, everyone

I am getting excited about the race finally. I am off work for 11 days with nothing to do except think about the race for the first week, then recover from the race for the second week :cool1:

I'm a little nervous because I'm doing the 5k that morning..I'm thinking I might be over doing it, but too late now :)

My favorite songs change daily, but right now its

Stronger-Kanye West
Fighter-Christina Aguilera
I Can Transform Ya-Chris Brown

i'm leaving today!!! a week in the parks, with probably no time to train/run between now and Saturday....I'm sure i'm going to be feeling great after the race.;)

I'm wearing a balancing act "Wings" shirt and a lime green tutu!! see you at the race!

Can I be nosy and ask how you got into an earlier corral? I'm assuming you had a faster qualifying 10K time?

Sure! I should clarify that by "earlier corral" I really meant Corral C-ish, as opposed to Corral E ;)

I put down a time of 2:46, which doesn't require proof (and at the time, I was training hard and this was very easily feasible). I also signed up for the race early. Corral A definitely requires proof of time, Corral B probably does as well - but it looks like for C and later, it was probably based on a combination of when you signed up for the race and if you put down a time at all. I've heard in the past that if you don't put down a time, or if you put down a time under 2:45 but never put proof, you get put in the back. Who knows? But to provide possible backup to this theory, my waiver number is 4765, my dad (who signed up at the same time as me with the same time information) is 4764, and my husband (who signed up 4 months later than me with the same timing information but who actually will finish in 2:45) is 7917.

We'll probably end up doing it in his corral anyway so we can all stick together. Plus now that I know for sure that I'm walking the whole thing, I don't want to be in other people's way - not that I wouldn't be in later corrals too, since obviously there are runners in those corrals as well!

Less then a week away. I just ran my 5 miles yesterday and my right knee hurt more then before. Its in the same area. I put on some hot and cold patch last night which didn't help much. I had to take some advil this morning and it helps. I was thinking of running 1.5 miles this Wednesday, i guess that plan have been scratched. Hopefully it would all be healed up by race day. So now i have a hurt left wrist with tendinitis and a hurt knee from running. Dont even know what is hurting. tendon or muscle? not sure what it is.

I am just going to wear regular running outfit as usual. Is ether a orange or a light blue shirt and dark blue running shorts.

Hope everyone is toning down their training and getting ready for the race. See you guys at the finish line.

Look around the corral and you will realize it isn't as simple as what bib# you have to determine which corral you are in. Your husband's 7917 can be in the same corral. There isn't a direct correlation between bib# and corral placement. Most of the time due to when someone signed up.. such as your husband. Your dad may be moved up a corral from you.. even being only one bib away. (They do that for us "older" folks.) There really isn't any way of knowing until you get to the expo. Think of it as a surprise to look forward to.

I'll be wearing this T-Shirt:

My tank top is the same color. I will also have a braid in the front of my head so that I don't have to wear a headband.

What part of the knee hurts? Different areas mean different things.. But I'm sure you know that...
