Official 2011 Princess Half Thread Part II!!!

We drove down to the expo today. I'm so happy that I did. There was plenty of room to browse around and do some shopping. I'm sure it will be packed tomorrow. I checked the weather update and this is what I got:

Partly sunny. Areas of dense fog early in the morning. Highs in the lower 80s. South winds around 5 mph becoming southeast around 10 mph in the afternoon.

Hopefully the fog and cloud cover will keep it feeling cooler that it really is.

Waiting for a bus to the expo! So excited! My flight got delayed, so I wasn't in my room until 3am! I'm still feeling a little sick, but all this sunshine and excitement is already making me feel better. Good luck everyone!

Goodluck to those still checking the thread! My mom and I did the 5K this morning and it was gorgeous weather but a little humid. We walked it bc my mom doesn't run and I'm running the half tomorrow. We waited over a half hour for a bus from POR. I'm hoping it was a fluke and tomorrow won't be the same! Ours came at 620 am and they were supposed to stop at 6. We still saw them coming in while we were in our corral 15 min before race time. Everything else was pretty organized though.

The expo was great and I got a bunch of cute stuff. LOVE their running hat, and got the white hoodie, coffee thermos, keychain and shot glass. Kinda went crazy but I'm super excited. Very nervous for tomorrow!! Goodluck everyone!!

Went to the expo yesterday! It was great and not crowded!! Spent the day at Hollywood Studios today. Th weather was nice, not too hot am back ready for a nap. Can't wait for our nice Italian dinner tonight! Excited yet super nervous about the race tomorrow!! I hope I can sleep and the buses aren't insane!!

We got here on Thursday.
Did the expo yesterday right when it started. Saw the Fairy Godmother.
It was pretty busy by the time we left.
Bought some cute stuff. Princess black running jacket, I did it shirt, magnet, shoe bling, Princess marathon pink Mickey ears (which everyone loves - a big hit at the park today!) and running hat. Spent way too much, but love it all.
Today we went to the Disney Studios with the early magical hour. Well worth getting up early!
Can't wait for tomorrows run. After a shower, going to the Magic Kingdom to celebrate!

Went to the Expo Friday and Saturday. Only bought a few Disney Princess t-shirts, keychain, white Disney jacket, and a car sticker. I wanted that Dooney and Burke? princess purse, but I can't have everything. Did anyone buy one?

I love the commemorative pin! think I will frame it with the medal if I get it.

Also bought some Biofreeze (is it a gimmick?) because my feet and knees are hurting from touring around DisneyWorld since Thursday. But am resting in the hotel room now and icing. Hopefully, I will be ready in the morning.

Ate at Boma restaurant inside Animal Kingdom Lodge last night and got a specially made vegan dinner plus the buffet! It's the best restaurant I've ever been too!

Biofreeze is awesome and they now sell it (under the name Performa) at Walgreens and other drugstores. It is a lot safer than products like Bengay. I end up having to bundle myself in blankets when I use it due to the extreme cooling effect it has. I think between the CW-X tights and using Performa, I recovered a lot faster from the Marathon in January (at least with muscle aches). Best to just use regular ice and elevation techniques for the feet though. I am sure you will do great and I hope the Biofreeze helps you!

Congrats! I think I around 3:17. I ran way too fast to start. My first mile was 12 minutes exactly. Way faster than the 15 minutes I've been averaging in training. So I walked a lot, especially at the end. I said "go team wish" to everyone I saw. I was the chubby girl in the TNT shirt lol.

WTG Princesses that ran today!!

I went out and ran 3.1 in solidarity and it was so cool to think about all the thousands of Princesses running at the same time at WDW! I can't believe next year I'm going to run, I have a year to add 10 miles to what I ran today!

I DID IT! It was fun...well first 7 miles...then the foot acted up. Cried mile 11-12, but I got through it. I finished the last mile with another limper who has PF and we strolled through epcot chatting about our feet.

So excited personal worst, but hey, I ran injured. 3:30ish....I forgot to turn off the garmin and somehow with all my traversing, I did an extra .3 miles.

FUN seeing you guys in your costumes and saying hi to those I saw.

OK, off to continue Icing and get ready for princess lunch.

I finished! I took the maximum time and was about 1 minute above pace time the whole way. I'll post a trip report when I have time. I was a Belle with a yellow tank and yellow tu-tu. I had a blast! I seriously cried when I turned the corner and heard that choir because I knew I was just about finished! Next year I hope to be able to run the whole thing, so I won't be scared of the lady with the pink balloons (if you were as pokey as me, you know who I'm talking about!)
