Official 2011 Princess Half Thread Part II!!!

Aren't there bathrooms in MK in Tomorrow land? I will take any real restroom over a portapotty! Hopefully I won't need to stop, but if I do I'll definitely hold it until I get to the real bathrooms!

So I got a new little treat recently that I want to recommend! Arm warmers! The ones I bought are so warm, and they are so easy to take off once I warm up. I've read about people who made their own arm warmers out of knee high socks by cutting the toes off, then they can toss them guilt free. If it's going to be only slightly chilly in the morning, I would totally suggest these to everyone. I saw some other girls talking about them, and wanted to really talk them up myself. I ordered mine on a whim because they were on sale, and I'm so glad I did!

The bib does hang down below your waist. It has never bothered me though.
Thanks. I ordered some with my belt. They were only $2.99 so if I don't use them no big deal. :thumbsup2

I am hoping to not go to the bathroom either, but if I do I will definitley hold it for a real one. So far I have only had to go once during a long run so I am hopeful I can make the whole race without going.

11 miles in the books today and I'm officially in taper mode...and I plan to celebrate tapering with a nice long nap in front of the fire because I am exhausted!!!! (but I think I'll go finish up the front of my race day shirt while I still have a little adrenaline running.) Good luck with Super Bowl pots today!!! I bought a few "shared" squares at work...would be nice to have some extra Disney money :)

Congrats! I love the back of your shirt. And am glad they were able to find you in the system!

Just finished ordering the shirts for our team!! We will have 8 at the race, in differing corrals, and all from different states. All of us met through WISH.

They are royal blue tech shirts, ordered from custom ink, with Team Goddess on the front, and the back reads, "It's not about winning, it's about finishing with a little help from my friends!"

Custom ink did a custom designed tech shirt with 1-color art, free shipping for a minimum order of 6, with a 2 week turnaround. Plus they have a great design lab with lots of stock art. Assuming the shirts come looking awesome (I'm hopeful), I will be highly pleased with them.

So, if you see one of them on a tall chubby girl with long brown hair and a black visor struggling mightily, that's me!

Those shirts sound really cute. Post a pic if you don't mind :)

i can't believe the race is only three weeks away

i called her yesterday for her birthday and she didn't answer. i left a message but she didn't call back. hmm..whatever.

i ran 6 miles today and i gotta say, it sucked. i felt TERRIBLE! granted, i ate everything in sight last night and drank a little so maybe that's why. still, it bummed me out that i felt so crappy.

i've been running now since the summer and the first 2-3 miles i ALWAYS feel like i want to stop. i never feel good. i was hoping that i'd feel good running. usually by 4 or so miles i feel a little better. still, it's depressing when you start out and feel like...ew.

Sorry your friend is flaking on you like that. It sounds like she has a lot going on right now, and you showed yourself to be a good friend by reaching out. Not much more you can do.

And I am glad to hear of people who struggle a bit at the start; I find that's the case with me. And I thought I was a wierdo for feeling like I needed about 3 miles to get into the groove of things. But those first few miles are mentally hard to get through some times.

Love my spibelt!!

Me too!

So I was going to run 8 or 10 miles this weekend but only did 6. My foot and shoulder starting acting up. While my foot (PF) feels better, my shoulder is still really sore and has been hurting all day today. I can't carry the baby; brushing my older daughter's hair hurt after a while. I noticed some discomfort a couple of weeks ago and did the ice and rest thing and it got better. Got some xrays which were ok. But with this run, it flared back up again. And the pain was enough that I had to walk the last couple of miles which really slowed me down. I am really worried about how things are going to play out over the next couple of weeks, but I am hoping ice, rest and meds will do the trick. I'd like to go see a PT but I am swamped at work until we leave for Disney so I don't think I will be able to get in. But it's making life a little difficult at the moment.

I almost got the same sleeves! I have a pink tank, pink skirt (I'm either wearing a tutu I picked up in the girls dept at Target or my pink SkirtSports skirt), a pink headband, and pink running sleeves. Oh yes, and hot pink knee socks! I'll keep an eye out for you as well.

I might buy a pink sparkle skirt at the expo if I think it won't bug me on the run and a bondi band headband at the expo. Can I ask what brand your socks are and where you got them?

Does anyone know how long Bondi Bands take to come in? I want to order one but I'm not sure if it will get here in time. I'd rather not take my chances with the expo, because I'm not going until Saturday.

I never had to go during a long run last year, but had to go once after the magic kingdom. Oh it was horrible! I also don't drink during runs, so I think grabbing the water was why I had to use the porta-potty. This year...I'm visiting the porta-pottys before the race starts and then I'm with you I'll go in a real rest room with real sinks! I might also add a small bottle of sanatizer and tissues to my spibelt, just in case.

My longish run on Sunday turned into a short run, my legs just didn't want to run. I'm hoping to get in one last long run this weekend. Jeff Galloway says 14, so that's what I'll try for, assuming the trail is clear. I don't have to work this weekend so that should help; usually I teach swim lessons for 3 hours and then go do my long run (Saturdays I teach for 5, so I dnon't run after that, too tired!)

Is anyone wearing anything to identify themselves as a WISHer? I don't think I'll be making any of the meets, but I would love to say hi if I see you during the race.

They ship out really fast. Mine shipped out the day I ordered it. I put the order on a Monday and got it by Thursday .

I agree, they are super quick shipping out. If you are ordering several, you can use the code FIVE for their 5 for $25 deal! If you don't have any, you'll be addicted soon. I wear mine almost every day, even when I don't have a workout planned!

Does anyone happen to know the e-mail address to use for submitting proof of time for corral placement? I know it's here in this thread somewhere, but I can't seem to find it.

With being so close, don't you need to bring it with you to the expo?

I actually just have a question to ask.

From the runDisney site:

Please provide proof of time at the point of registration.

Proof of time should include name of race, year, distance and time finished (i.e. 2009 Boston Marathon - 3:35 OR 2010 Disneyland® Half Marathon - 2:25). If you do not have a proof of time to submit, list N/A at the point of registration. Half Marathon proof of time must be from a race 10K or longer. All forms of proof of time must be from a race after July 1, 2008. If you do not provide proof of time you will be placed in the last start corral.

If you do not provide proof of time at the point of registration or acquire it after you have registered, then email this information to disneysports@trackshack.com before December 27, 2010. After December 27, 2010 you will need to bring proof of your estimated finish time to the Runner Relations booth at the Expo if you wish to have your start corral placement changed. If you listed a race result as proof of time when registering online, then you do not have to do anything further.

From the runDisney site:

Thanks for taking the time to post that.

Is there anyone out there with a high bib number (I'm 14863), who's still looking for a race buddy? I know it's getting close, but I thought I'd ask anyway. Hopefully there's still someone out there who's like me and doesn't want to run alone!

I trim my toenails at least once every two weeks, sometimes once a week. Between playing ice hockey and running, even a little bit too much toenail is immediately obvious.

Pedicures are totally wasted on me!

I'm always on top of that. I clip every 2-3 weeks and file them down once a week. Never had black toe thank God. I use Glide on my feet and in between my toes too.

I do have a bone spur(xrayed and diagnosed) right where bunions grow. I want to have a doctor file that down, but don't know if it's the right decision. Will it always be sore after they grind on it?? How fast could it grow back? Dr. said I have it because I have osteoarthritis.

Any opinions?

Just read the post about Proof of Time!! Yikes! I got something in the 7000's and that's not the last corral, right? I guess I'll bring my last proof of time to the Expo, it was 2:47 for a half (12:74 min mile). Will it help? It says, if you think you will do better than 2:45 show proof. Who do I show it to?

Went to disneysports@trackshack.com and this is what it said:

D***** with birthday 02/07/1965 not found

I edited out my name with *** for this post.

For those not going all out in costume or who are concerned about keeping a real tiara on during the race...
runningprincess.com now has the tiara visors in stock. I'd posted about them a while ago when they told me they'd be bringing them to the Expo. But they e-mailed me last week to say they were in stock now. They are a white visor with an embroidered silver tiara and you can order "stones" for no extra charge to add the bling! I chose yellow since my bib will be Belle yellow but I'm not sure I'll put them on.

They ARE bringing them to the Expo though and you'll save shipping if you buy it there. They are $25 on the website + $4.60 USPS shipping. I ordered at 6:30am today and just got a notice that it shipped.

Good luck on your long run!

I was thinking of making a sign for my back since I am sure many will be passing me. My bib # is low enough to be in corral C or B I THINK, but not sure. Might just make a sign that says, Hey WISHer's....Its Saysay! Warning: Make Frequent Walk Breaks

But not sure HOW to do it so not to irratate me...Any suggestions?

Great idea! I was just thinking...?Which layer should I put a sign on my back?
lol

I can't wait to look at the Bondi Bands.

How do I post a picture?

Saysay- I was thinking the same thing! lol

I might be in Corral C or D, but I am gonna get passed by 90% of yall. I think mine might be "WISH me a Happy Birthday!" (my bday is the 28th!)

Probably best option would be some kind of big A sticker you can run through your printer at home and just slap that on your back.

I am buying one of those tiara visors for sure! Thanks for the update!

Awesome and my bday is also the 28th, you could get a birthday button from Disney the night before at guest relations that you could wear.
